FANTASTIC VETERINARIANS, COMPRABLE PRICES, BUT…read more...... My review is based on coming here for over 18 months. The veterinarian who has seen my dog, Annie, is fantastic. Dr. Houle is very knowledgeable and explains details in a way that anyone can understand. You don't need a medical degree to understand the information she provides regarding your pet's health. Prices are comprable, but I have had several issues that are making me question whether or not I should continue taking my dog here. I like that Dr. Houle is a very good listener. I am my dog's medical advocate. Therefore, I ask lots and lots of questions. I'm also not afraid to say "No" if I believe it is not going to benefit my dog. For example, every year Annie gets a rabies shot as well as a phy hisical examination. They offer a full blood workup during the annual physical exam for only $145 but I always say "no thank you." If you get the full blood workup on your cat or dog any other time of the year the cost is $199, but they never offer a partial blood work up which is a lot LESS in cost. They never mention a partial blood work up. I had a partial blood work up on Annie at the Chicago Premier Animal Hospital for only $85 Unless my dog has a life-threatening issue I will not purchase medication from Forest Glen Animal Hospital. Medications are incredibly expensive. I usually order medications from chewy.com because I save money. If your dog has a skin infection try using an antifungal/antibacterial dog shampoo. The medicated bath helps my dog. However, it has not cleared up the infection because sometimes an infection may require an antibiotic medication. The antibiotic I ordered from chewy.com is only $16 but Forest Glen charges almost $30 (chewy.com is still making a profit at $16). I have been frustrated because I had to follow up with Forest Glen Animal Hospital not once, not twice, but 3 separate times. WTH! Dr Houle is a very competent veterinarian. I really like her and she has been fantastic treating my dog. She is very professional. I never feel rushed by her. I appreciate she allows me to ask as many questions as I want and answers them thoroughly. Sometimes it is the "little things" that happen at a veterinarian clinic which make clients seek veterinarian services elsewhere. As long as Dr. Houle is there I will continue taking my dog to Forest Glen. There is no excuse for dropping the ball. If a dog or cat requires medication, the staff needs to check email and incoming faxes on a very regular basis. I seem to always follow up with Forest Glen to remind them to please authorize my Dog's medication. I should not need to do this on a regular basis. Obviously, something is off with the administrative staff. These issues should be addressed. Solutions should be implemented with their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The vet here wrote the wrong prescription for my dog. I went to various pharmacies, spent hours…read moredoing this, to be told by them they had no idea what to do with the rx. We delayed treatment for our dog who has pneumonia because we were unable to find a pharmacy capable of filling out the wrong rx. I finally called the vet and said I don't think it's right. Only at THAT point did they realize their mistake. They had the receptionist apologize to me, but not the doctor. When I asked for an apology from the doctor, here's the email I got back: "While we understand it was upsetting to have an error in a written prescription, our hospital immediately apologized and corrected the error. Your request is inappropriate and is emphatically denied. We will send full records to Bramer. We wish you and Violet all the best. This will be the final communication from our hospital." Classless and cowardly. 1 star. Do NOT take animals you care about here. EDIT: In their response they say "the energy I brought was not appropriate to the situation." I said, and I quote: "I would appreciate an apology from the vet who wrote the wrong prescription." The person running this office is totally unhinged.

I've boarded my cat at Meeow over 6 times now for everything from short three day stays to upwards…read moreof 11! Since she's a rescue, she tends to get a bit anxious whenever we leave her, but she always has a great experience here, even as a senior cat at age 10 now. Prior to the pandemic, we boarded her a number of times at PetSmart's Pet Hotel on Elston and looking back, it was not a good fit at all and really didn't offer our girl much space. Now at Meeow, we couldn't be happier. Knowing she's well taken care of, loved, has more than enough room to lounge and play all makes leaving her for a bit easier. I also so appreciate how communicative the staff at Meeow is! Their quick replies to texts or calls to adjust drop-off or pick-up times and daily update photos on Instagram are just the best. So thankful we have them and I truly think the price is very right!
