The drain guys did a comprehensive review of all the pipes found the problem and was able to implement a sleeve instead of digging up the floor, the other company didn't even provide a video for $1000 though they did fix the initial problem by clearing the clog. I called The Drain Guys on Thursday afternoon for a slow-draining bathtub after attempting to clear…read moreit myself. When scheduling, I specifically asked whether they could provide at least a ballpark estimate for snaking a bathtub drain. I was told there was no way to provide pricing information until a technician saw the issue in person. At the same time, I was assured their pricing was "the best in the business," that the owner operates with integrity, and that they are not in the business of gouging customers. Based on those representations, I agreed to schedule service. I was told that due to the snowstorm and several frozen pipe emergencies, the earliest available appointment was Saturday. I understood that weather can create legitimate service delays and agreed to wait. However, late Friday evening, the night before the scheduled Saturday appointment, I received a text stating the plumber would not be able to come because they were behind schedule. The next available appointment was Tuesday. That resulted in a five-day wait from my original call for a routine drain issue. When the technician arrived on Tuesday, I was quoted $550 to snake a single bathtub drain. The work took approximately 30 minutes. After receiving the quote, I texted the office referencing the earlier statement about having the best prices in the business. I was then told that they had not said that, only that their prices were competitive. If $550 is the standard rate for this service, that information could have been shared when I specifically asked for even a general idea of cost. Being told that no pricing guidance could be provided, while simultaneously being reassured about superior pricing and integrity, created expectations that did not align with the final quote. The technician did clear the clog. However, he did not remove his shoes or use protective coverings despite snow and mud outside, and water was tracked into the home. This experience combined a last-minute cancellation due to scheduling issues, a five-day wait for service, no upfront pricing transparency, and a $550 charge for approximately 30 minutes of work. Prospective customers, particularly those who are cost- or time-sensitive, should request written pricing information and obtain comparison quotes before proceeding.

Kevin was very knowledgeable about zoning restrictions and explained how the grading of my land could impact water retention information that was important before removing trees. The final result was excellent. He was punctual, respectful of my property and my neighbor's property line, and even went above and beyond by completing some additional work since the original scope was finished ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Kevin for anyone needing forestry mulching or excavating services.

He walked our entire area with us and thoroughly discussed what he would exactly do. His communication was excellent. He truly cares about doing what is right and best for his customers and the environment. We had gotten several estimates from other companies, and the communication with those companies was severely lacking. Kevin's quote was less than half the price and his work also encompassed cleaning and clearing up significantly more area than what we were quoted from the others. While he was working, he stopped several times to confirm he cleared exactly what we had requested. He also mulched up a large pile of cut branches that we were in the process of disposing of, that was not quoted in our estimate. Kevin was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Our experience working with him highly exceeded our expectations. He went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. We highly recommend him and would absolutely use him again. The final result is awesome and it is great to have our views back.

I sent photos of what I wanted removed, they gave me an estimate over phone. It was higher than I thought but on par or lower than others. I highly recommend Junkman.

He called the day of the appointment and said they needed more notice even though it had been over a week since I booked the service through their website for the services they addressed in their quote. My coworker told him he had to ask me about rescheduling and they weren't on the line when I picked up. They never called back so I called them. They offered to come back the next day and I said ok. He showed up the next day and tried to increase the quote because nothing was staged for them to pick up. Never a part of the quote or discussed when the quote was handled. I addressed it with him and he proceeded to argue with me about it. I sent him and his helpers on their way. I've used other haulers that show up when they're supposed to and don't bicker about things not being staged and try to charge you more. I was looking forward to getting junk removed today and it didn't happen because of unprofessionalism from the owner himself. We'll get it removed elsewhere. I'm reading bad reviews here and seeing his responses and they're funny because he's calling out his own customers to make it out to be their fault instead of learning from his mistakes. He was cool when he came to give the quote and was someone else when he showed up to get the job done - which never got done. And he was happy to walk away when I told him forget it I'll call someone else. Never tried to make it better. Absolutely ridiculous. Stubborn and rude and not what you'd expect from the owner of a company. It's junk removal. Period. I can get someone else easily who does things the right way and puts their customers first. *UPDATE* and there you can see below for yourself his response to my negative review. Do yourself a favor and call a junk removal company who will take negative reviews seriously, honor their original quote and not argue with customers. I'll stop my "madness" now.....

My HVAC was making loud vibrating and rattling sounds. A technician arrived late, did a very brief visual inspection (without even opening it up), misdiagnosed the problem as air ducts, said it's "not something we do," and left in under 10 minutes. I had questions but he seemed more interested in leaving than helping. A year before that, I was having a different issue and I had the same experience with a technician more interested in ending his day than fixing the problem. In all honestly, I felt both turned down fixing the problem because it was raining or snowing on the days they arrived. On the other hand, a technician from a DC-area family-owned company actually took the time to find the problem, open the HVAC system, and properly fix it in under two hours -- and it had nothing to do with air ducts. This guy answered all my questions, was friendly, and actually offered recommendations and offered to come back if the issue returns. I do not feel like Michael and Sons would do the same for me anymore.
