At 5 years old with a life jacket, my daughter had a great opportunity to go in the deep end starting at 7 feet to 13 feet on the pool. The 2 lifeguards were in the pool to help any swimmers for eggs or any assistance in the water. The staff to exchange the eggs for prizes were also attentive to the guests and answer any questions i have. Swimmers are allowed to collect 15 eggs total. I didnt mind my daughter wanted to leave in 15 minutes of starting this eveny because we live about 16 miles away and we were there earlier for open swim for 2 1/2 hours. Defintely Facebook picture worthy, of course not for helicopter parents. The indoor pool and restroom were a bit drafty and i may have left this facility with a cold in the works. There's a ice rink for hockey and a track upstairs to exercise and people view down below. Small parking lot. Place is kempt. Employees are friendly.

Every year, the park district closes the diving well to members of the public (both pass holders and paying members of the public) so that they can make money through offering some type of swim lesson camp. My kids love to dive but are told to leave the diving area along with their friends who have paid a daily fee to swim. So not only does the park district crowd the pool with campers but now they tell paying members that they cannot use the pool they have paid to use. We have been coming to this pool over ten years and my kids have gone through lessons here (which by the way are not worth it beyond getting over fear of the water level) and each year the park district treats paying members of the general public worse and worse. Closing off more and more areas of the pool. There is no reason to pay to go to a pool that is roped off for lessons in half of it or has no diving well. Clearly they are more interested in the cash cow that the summer camps have become than offering an enjoyable swimming experience.

The pool was open from noon-5pm (it was opening day, I don't believe those are standard hours). We bought tickets online in the morning before going, which was a good idea because there was an incredibly long and slow line to purchase tickets. It was $15 per person. They have changing rooms, including showers with soap. They have a reasonably priced concession stand (no outside food allowed). There was a gigantic pool with multiple sections, including a zero depth entry section, 2 lap lanes, a 12 foot diving pool with diving pool and 2 drop slides. 2 medium large water slides. There was also a huge splash pad including a set of little kid water slides and a water bucket that dumps water on people. The life guards were great. We had a great time!

We were very impressed by all of the lifeguards tonight. They were very pleasant and attentive and kept a close watch on the action. The pool has 2 slide areas, a kids section, lap lanes, diving well, and free play space. Grassy area and lounge chairs. My teen enjoyed the concession stand- soft serve ice cream and funnel cakes! I like how they enforce the "no food on deck" and "no shoes on deck" rules. Points off as the parking is absolutely bonkers. There were other sporting events happening tonight, plus just folks in the park, so there was no available parking. We parked in the farthest lot, which seems like a full 2-3 blocks from the entrance, and with 1-way lanes it took us super long to get everyone in and out of the event. Also, the locker rooms were outdated and did not smell the best.

Residents receive about a 25% discount off admissions. Dressing rooms and showers are moderately clean. Nothing special, but you're not spending much time there anyway. If I were to visit more than twice a summer, I'd purchase the season pass.

So, it's one thing to be forced to listen to Country, nonstop, but quite another to listen to it through blown-out speakers from 20 years ago. Treble, treble, treble, ear-piercing, distorted, torn-speaker-treble. I feel like my ears have suffered irreparable damage, not exaggerating. Finally, large wasps flying in-and-out of the deck, aside us, either building a nest or looking to build a nest. Big guys, these wasps! So, perhaps consider another pool, my friends.

All they did to let people know was put a piece of paper out that said "pool closing at 1pm" this morning. They could've sent out an email or a message on the app stating this information. It would be nice if they actually put time into the app like updated the hours around holidays or updating us on things like this, etc. At the end of the day, this probably didn't effect many, but it is still annoying and kinda shows that they don't really take into consideration our time.

Unlike most health clubs, maintenance and upkeep are ongoing with no obvious deferred maintenance. There is also great continuity in staff and instructors--it is a testament to good management that this club doesn't suffer from constant turnover as many gyms do. My favorite thing is that there is a real sense of community here with friendly staff and members.

Do NOT use Happy Pools for anything for your pool needs. I hired them to rehab my in ground pool…read morein 2023 due to the fact that it was leaking. They did a terrible job and after their so called repairs my pool developed a large crack along the bottom of the pool. They said they would repair it that fall and then ended up bailing on me and left my pool empty and uncovered for the entire following winter (I had paid them for a safety cover which I didn't receive until the following winter). When they finally showed up again the following spring to fix the crack in the pool, my pool had developed more cracks along the sides of the pool due to their negligence of leaving the pool empty and uncovered all winter. The concrete edging around my pool that they replaced is coming off in chunks. Staples from the "repairs" are literally pushing out of the pool walls. Cruz came out to look at the pool and decided he wouldn't warranty any of the work and wanted to charge me an additional 20k to fix it. I have had 3 other pool contractors look at the work Happy Pools did on my pool and they were all honestly horrified at the state of my pool thanks to the shoddy workmanship of Cruz and his team.
