Russo Pool customer service after purchase is poor. My Doughboy pool which has a 30 year warranty has a cracked wall which should be covered by warranty. Same as last year, so I called and requested service, they refused and were cursing to me. I am very disappointed and please watch for mean female manager. Third time's a charm....I think not! I normally write a review for good reasons, unfortunately this is not one of them. I stumbled on this location on the way to my in laws one day. Due to running low on some pool shock. I walked into the store and I noticed an employee helping another customer so I figured I'd walk around to find it on my own. After five minutes of walking around I came back to the same spot I saw the employee with another costumer and no other employees around. I was pressed for time so I left the store. Fast forward a week later I was in the area again so I walked in and again I see an employee with a customer so this time I patiently waited. Once the employee finished with that customer, and before I can even ask for help he simply looked at me and walked away. Now I'm just appalled at the fact that NOT only did I not get greeted but I felt as if the employee was very dismissive. I could have left but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just assuming things here. I began to walk the entire store for roughly fifteen minutes, not one employee offered help nor did anyone greet me. I had now confirmed that their customer service was terrible and they could care less if I needed help, almost as if though they were doing me a favor by simply having a pool store in the area. That was my second time visiting this store and it will be the last time I ever go to that place for my pool needs. My shopping experience was a nightmare and if I can offer a piece of advise I would tell anyone with a pool to take their business elsewhere. read more

Warning! Do not use this company. Last year I paid them to both open and close my pool and was pretty happy. They opened the pool and I came home to a clean, nice pool ready to swim in. Yesterday I paid them to come out and when I got home the pool was a fourth full of filthy water, they threw a few bottles of chemicals on deck. I have no idea how much to add, no directions were left. I called to complain and spoke to Nick. Nick said they changed the service and it no longer include cleaning pool, filling pool, adding chemicals, testing whether system works, and testing water chemistry BUT they raised prices. I told him no one made me aware of this and as a previous customer I should be made aware if I'm getting something different. I told him I could not pay more for half the service. I can pull a pool cover off and plug in a pump. Why would I pay a company over 200 to do something that takes literally ten minutes. i will give the company one and a half stars for calling me back and saying they would come back to put the chemicals in. But this is after I said I wasn't going to pay them and then they went ahead and charged my credit card. I had also already cleaned the pool myself. After 23 years of enjoying our old spa we decided it was time to replace it. We looked around at several pool stores and decided to go with Russo's. From start to finish Craig took great care of us. He recommended a wonderful spa which we purchased. When it was delivered Craig was there making sure all went well. Once it was wired up and filled I had some questions about operating the spa. Craig answered all questions and made sure we were happy with our purchase. This spa is high quality and we absolutely love it. The jet configuration is perfect and will cover any part of your body that hurts. You have complete control over water flow. This spa is state of the art and awesome! Another reason we went with Russo is because they service the spas they sell. After being a spa owner for so many years I know that eventually I will need service. Terrible, unprofessional service. I have had my pool for 23 seasons. I have ONLY had PROBLEMS since I started using Russo's two years ago. For 21 years, my pool was opened perfectly and I was able to use it within a week. The past two years, when Russo's "performed" my opening, it took about 6 WEEKS before I could swim. I called to ask about the poor quality of my opening. I was assured a service tech would be out 9 days later. They would not send anyone sooner with out charging me $175 for a service call. I called the day before to confirm the service tech was coming. He never showed up. So my pool got worse and worse each day. Russo's opened my pool on May 11th, I still cannot swim in it. Then I called Russo's to cancel my service, I had to leave a voice message. After two days, no one returned my call. I then called and spoke with Rose (who is new) to cancel my service. She asked why. I expressed my disappointment in the pool opening (lack thereof) and the 'no show' of the service tech. Rose simply stated, "I am sorry; I will cancel your services with us." I was surprised there was no offer to get things corrected or send anyone out. I later called to see if I could get a credit of some sort. Rose told me she would speak with her managers and get back to me. When she did not, I called to check on the status of my request; she said she hadn't had a chance to talk to them. I called today to check and was told there was nothing they could do. I have hired another service who is now fixing Russo's (very expensive) mistakes. read more

However, every time I go there, both Jimmy (Jimbo) and Tommy Stryjewski (Tom) (Parts Manager) is SUPER helpful and share all the best tips and tricks with me. If you are looking for good customer service and timely communication, this is NOT the place for you. Give your business and loyalty to a company that deserves it! We placed an order for a pool, solar cover, and heater. Dan, our salesperson contacted me the night before the promised installation date to tell me it was not going to be installed because it wasn't delivered by the manufacturer. Meanwhile, my backyard was already excavated and sand for the installation was stockpiled in my alley blocking garage access. The pool was finally delivered about a month after the promised installation date. Jim, who made the delivery was very nice and knowledgeable. Henry and his crew installed the pool a few days later, they did a great job. The incorrect pool ladder was delivered. My husband had to physically return to the store and demand a ladder in order to utilize the pool. The salesperson was insistent they didn't have any in stock until my husband insisted otherwise. He finally walked out with the correct ladder that day. The heater and solar cover were paid for but not delivered due "high demand and covid" per Dan. He never called to give updates about any of the above. My husband and I had to constantly track him down for updates and when we would finally reach him, he had zero information. Finally, 2 and a half months after the purchase date, the heater was delivered. To my surprise, it was a floor model that was scratched up and had less btu than what we paid for. I immediately called Dan and he said my husband agreed to that-which was a complete lie. The solar cover was still on "back order". I asked for my money back for both the heater and solar cover. The same day, we purchased a heater and solar cover from Halogen. Halogen is great by the way-check them out! This was my first yelp review. I obviously feel strongly about this negative experience and want potential customers to be fully aware before entering Russo's trap. read more

They installed my heater in an illegal place and then said I told them to put it there, and they did it? They wouldn't move it without charging me extra. They closed my pool and left water in my skimmer with hoses connected, yes it froze and cracked and I've been leaking water, which costs money and now I have to replace it and that costs money. DO NOT ASK THIS COMPANY TO SERVICE YOUR POOL OR HOT TUB. I paid $600 for 3 different visits and the problem still has not been fixed. The leak in my hot tub is actually WORSE now after they "FIXED" the problem. The main issue that I have is that they are not being held accountable. The same guy just keeps coming out, saying different things and not fixing the problem. After the third time, he hacked the pipes, pulled out the installation and just put it all back together with the leak still there. The management claimed that the $600 was paid for "services rendered" and REFUSED to acknowledge that the service was to fix the leak! We had been looking for a hot tub for a while. We went and wet tested a couple at one of the bigger chains in the area. We thought we found one we liked but decided we should test a couple more. We found Russo's online and decided to give them a call. Dan answered and quickly we could tell he was very knowledgeable. He told us some of the benefits of the tubs they carried that we had not considered. We decided to come in and test out the tubs they had there to see the difference for ourselves. We immediately fell in love with the Dimension One Spa they had. Dan gave us a great deal on a floor model and he delivered it personally himself 4 days later. About a month or two ago, i just called to ask a simple question and whoever the elder lady on the other end of the line was, was very rude! This is the 3rd season for my pool I bought at Russo. I have had one bad experience after another. Initially, they came out to measure and figure out where I wanted the pool. I had to leave for a bit the day they came back and installed the pool, when I came back the pool was installed with the pump and filter on the wrong side. They installed so that the pump and motor were under where my deck was due to be built. When I pointed it out I was told there was nothing they could do. Fast forward to this season, I closed my pool as usual last winter. The pump motor broke after only 2 seasons. I was told it is no longer under warranty. Really? A motor that only lasts 2 years? Over this winter the pool liner pulled away from the sides of the pool. It was leaking all over my neighbor's yard. Four of the caps on top of the pool were broken. I called and left a message, noone returned my call. I called 3 more times and the phone was busy. I emailed and got no response. I finally got through on the phone and spend 45 minutes on hold waiting for someone. I Finally spoke to Anthony and was told to send pictures and he would get back to me right away. He didn't, so I called again. This time I waited 15 minutes on hold. Mind you, the entire time listening to their wonderful message about being "a family owned business and the importance of customer service." I got no apology for not getting back to me. I was basically dismissed and told that there was no service warranty. I was told if I wanted replacement parts I would have to bring in the broken parts. My husband and I are totally impressed with the service we have had with Russo's! We couldn't be happier with the work they have done for us. Our pool was originally installed by Blue Haven pools who went bankrupt halfway through our project...leaving us to fend for ourselves with some pretty major project completion (this is a first world problem, I realize). No other pool company wanted to help...they seemed to only want to service the pools that they had installed. We had many years of trying to find people to fix the mess that Blue Haven left us in. I always try other places because some said it was a good deal or someone sent me a promo through the mail, but I always end up sticking with Russo's. My above ground pool is always looking great, and if there are any issues they are happy to fix it for you with out a hassle.
