I hired E&L Lawncare in June 2025 to plant 27 arborvitae trees for $14,000. The sales representative, Justin, provided a written one-year guarantee on the trees. Within approximately two weeks of planting, many of the trees began turning brown and showed signs of decline. I contacted the company multiple times over the following months requesting replacement under the guarantee. Over twelve months, I received lots of excuses and promises, but no replacement trees. On multiple occasions, a specific date and time were scheduled for replanting, but the crew did not arrive. After continued delays, I had legal counsel send a formal notice regarding the issue. In my experience, this company does not honor its work and should not be trusted with any landscaping project. read more

He promised, in writing, a full refund after he charged me $530 for mulching AROUND 2ft tall weeds and over top of grassy flowerbeds, even though spring cleanup was included in the charge. He agreed to meet me at his office and proceeded to stand me up with zero phone call, text or apology. This all happened the week of May 27, 2019. After it became clear he wasn't going to stay true to his word, I filed a complaint with the BBB, which he ignored. Thankfully, they dropped his rating from a C to an F. Since the BBB closed my complaint due to lack of business response, I'm posting my review here. CONSUMER BEWARE. There are better people and companies with which to do business. Your high school neighbor could provide a better finished product, for less money and less of a headache. read more

Do NOT use this company. They did a patio for us and it was done so poorly that our new contractor took pictures of E&L's work so they weren't held liable. On our steps leading out our door, they didn't use the correct products to hold pavers in place. The rest of our patio sunk!!! Horrible customer service too. read more

we hired them to mow, mulch, and weed. we paid them and they came out and mowed but did not mow to our actual property line. so there was a huge part that was not mowed. Also the mulching was HORRIBLE! there was our old mulch everywhere and they did did not mulch well at all. it was spread to thin so you could barely tell they mulched. Also they do not spread the mulch and leave clumps all over your beds and if you patio stones ect. they will just cover them with mulch. They did a very lazy job, they also just mulched over a lot of the weeds and pulled very few weeds. Here is the worst part, we texted the owner our issues and he promised to come out on a Saturday and fix everything by 7pm. We went out on Saturday and nothing was done. We texted him the next day and the day after to see why nothing was fixed and he has completely ghosted us. This is the most unproffessional and lazy company I have ever delat with. please save your money and DO NOT HIRE THEM!! read more

Don't waste your money. I chose to pay this company a premium to do my edging and mulching because my normal person couldn't do it in my time frame this year due to a staffing shortage and this company said they could complete it that week. After paying them upon completion, we found two beds facing the neighbors that were not finished and one entire bed was missed along the back of the house. I called the foreman Taylor within minutes of his leaving, voicemail not set up, I texted with no reply. Two days later I call him again and he answers and apologizes, he saw my text but had been busy. Will be out in a couple days to finish. The week came and went with no show and no communication. I finally call the owner of the company who doesn't answer either but texts me back and states Taylor will be out to finish the job and I should contact the owner back after Taylor takes care of it. The next day Taylor calls and apologizes, provides some excuses and tells me he will be out Weds., now 2 weeks since I hired them. No one ever showed that week either so I sent the owner back a message letting him know that Taylor had still not shown up to complete the job. 4 days later no reply from the owner. I bought my own mulch and finished the job myself this weekend. They have zero customer service and I am shocked they are still in business. DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF, HIRE ANYONE ELSE! read more

They have numerous complaints from customers and refuse to return calls or refund money for unsatisfactory work. **Beware that they will take your money and run to the next customer. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Don't throw away your money. Get the best return on your investment and seek professional services elsewhere.** read more

I used E&L for the last 4 years to mow my 1.3 acre yard. At first I was very picky and complained a lot because I had always done my own mowing at previous homes. They would run over lights and things in my gardens and once even knocked over a paver wall that I had to then fix. They often mowed the grass when it is too wet. They mowed too fast so that the grass just lay down and didn't get cut and they missed big swaths of lawn. They left clippings on the lawn that I then had to blow off myself even though all they had to do was blow it into the woods on the back of my lot. They blew clippings into my gardens even after I asked them to not do that. So much so that I have grass growing in my gardens that is very hard to remove from between plants. This year, 2017, with a lot going on in my personal life, I chose my battles thinking I probably could not get someone to do my yard for less... Basically, I figured I was getting what I was paying for -- which was not a lot. And after agreeing to let them charge my credit card monthly in 2016, I didn't have as many interactions as they often did the work while I was at work. The last couple of months (Aug, Sep, Oct), we went 2-4 weeks where the grass was not cut at all... But I still got charged as if it had been cut 4 times per month! I have asked for the invoices and have not received anything yet though he promised me on the phone he would send. I have called them three times and texted several times since we spoke too and no response! I am not going to pursue a case or anything because... that is just not me. But I will call them out on it here and on Angie's List. Beware! read more

E & L Lawncare 614-989-4324 I would not recommend this business unless you want to piss off your neighbors. I had this group do a paver patio for me in McCammon Chase Lewis Center early 2015. When they came to demolish the existing patio they used my neighbors driveway to get back to my backyard. I though they asked permission but they did not. They took a heavy trailer back over the edge of the asphalt and put some deep tracks in the neighbors lawn. They also crushed the edge of the neighbors driveway when the trailer got pulled back up full of the weight from the old patio demolition. When confronted with the issue by my neighbor, the owner J Edwards played dumb and told the neighbor they were wheel barrow tracks. I think everyone understands the size difference between an wheel barrow and a trailer tire. The owner of E & L Lawncare acted like a child and denied the damage, rather than manage the situation like an adult business person. Needless to say my neighbor is not so friendly anymore. The next challenge I had with them was they dumped all of the gravel in the street and the Orange township representative went nuts on me. It blocked and entire lane of traffic on a blind hill. I only got the township guy to calm down once they promised to get the gravel out of the street within 12 hours. They did not even mark the gravel with cones or anything. And so it goes from there. They threw foam cups, trash, cigarette butts, gravel everywhere. The worksite was never kept up and they often left tools and wheel barrows scattered all over my yard. They even damaged some of the faux stone water line that surrounds my hose and some of the pieces are still missing. Most of my lawn was crushed flat because they did not put down any protection when they were working. After my neighbor went nuts, they stopped using his driveway, but they absolutely destroyed my lawn. It will take a few years for the tracks to go away. When other landscapers do work I have seen them protect the lawn with plywood or put down tarps to minimize the damage. Not these guys. If you have them do work for you, warn your neighbors and apologize in advance. read more

Jay Edwards collected money from me for a power wash and sealing job. He only did the power wash and disappeared. Will not return numerous emails, phone calls and texts over the last 3 months. E&L lawn care did some great paver work for me on a prior job. Jay seemed like such a nice and honest guy. Look out for him!! read more

We had a very positive experience with E&L Lawn Care. Jay, the owner, was very prompt to all our messages, much more than other bigger landscaping companies that were very difficult to get in touch with. They successfully removed our old deck and put in a beautiful patio in about 3 days. The price was budget friendly, and they even came back to fix an issue (not caused by them) when needed. If we ever have another lawn care need, we will be sure to check out E&L again! read more

My next door neighbor hired E&L Lawn Care of Columbus Ohio to install a paver patio. Although I did not hire this company, I experienced unacceptable interactions with E&L Lawn Care during this months long patio project. E & L Lawn Care left mud and rocks in my driveway. In addition, they blocked my driveway with a trailer. When I asked the owner and crew to move the trailer, they stonewalled, taunted and laughed. They did everything but cooperate. They recommended I call the police on them, for example. What reputable company chides their customer's neighbor or prospective customer to call the police. Completely Bizarre!!!! I can only conclude that E & L Lawn Care has absolutely no business acumen. I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone: Caveat Emptor. read more
