Taylor showed us his proposal for our home, and we were quite surprised at how affordable a system was! The monthly payments for 10 years was about 1/2 the cost of our summer monthly electric bill (there is a 20 year payment option too, but it carries a higher interest rate. For $40 more a month, we chose the 10 year option). From signing the contract/loan, to install, to inspection, to switching the system on, the process was smooth. The whole process took about 8 weeks, which is quicker than average (getting SoCal Edison to sign off is one of the slowest parts, but permitting can be slow too, depending on your municipality). I had noticed a blemish on one of my eves caused by the install, and their service team quickly scheduled a trip to come out and fix it. Thanks to Taylor and the rest of the Vivint staff, we are very satisfied with how everything went and are looking forward to generating lots of our own power!

The panels were damaging my roof so I insisted that they remove the panels from my house. And I insisted my contract become void which they did. That was hell to deal with on its own. The company came to remove my panels, but they also had to replace my roof because the panels destroyed my roof. Fast forward three years 2020. Today I am trying to refinance my home to get a lower interest rate and I find out I have a lien against my house because of those solar panels. There's no way of contacting anybody. Managers are not available, the people that work there have no access to my account, whatever you do do not get solar panels from VIVINT SOLAR. My refinance is on hold because of VIVINT

They ignored me, my intentions and any shred of human decency and consideration. Their inaction prompted Me to ask the attendant to please extricate these inconsiderate a-holes to allow me to proceed. In doing so it turned out the man was a super senior ( in his mid to late 80's ). That was it, hence this review... This company clearly does not train its employees to act decently when driving their branded vehicles and I'd certainly think twice about letting such vermin near a $30,000 plus instillation job at my residence. The equipment is on the pricey side but i feel the quality is there. Customer service is top notch but I'm the 4 years I've called them maybe three times and that was just inquiries. Backyard camera sometimes would go offline but it resolved itself quickly so i didn't need to call anyone. Just like a PC or phone sometimes you just have to reboot the device. Their phone app is great, i can easily log in and check status of the house with no hiccup. Anyhow, we're moving and i requested our system to be uninstalled and booked the installation at our new house. That's how much i like their system, that I'm willing to continue using them. Hope i can shed some light on the positive side of their security system.

I had a rep come to my house offering a buyout from brinks. I was not unhappy with brinks, but the items above were convincing to me. I did not sign up right away, but when my in-laws were looking for a system I had gave them the number of the rep. They signed up and the rep told them to have me call and he would give me a referral credit if we signed up. The rep gave us the updated quote which ended up being $20 more and without a second camera, they told me the promo was over. Stupidly I still decided to sign on. They told me if I had the tech come that night they would waive the 1st 2 months, so I agreed. We started the buyout process, which was a total pain. We had to get a buyout letter from Brinks's, when we got the letter 2 weeks later, I sent it to the rep. Vivint sent a debit card that was supposed to cover the cost of the buyout so we could pay it, the debit card was about $400 short. It took 2 months and many phone calls to get the amount increased and it still didn't cover the amount I submitted. I ended up getting charged for 2 extra months of brinks and Vivint charged me the whole time as well. I asked for a refund on the 2 months of Vivint service and they told me I should have canceled even though I didn't have the spare money to pay for the buyout. I also asked why I didn't have the initial 2 months waived as agreed. They told me they just waive the equipment not the service. To which I said if they aren't paying the finance company, then they were misleading since I will still need to pay it on the backside anyway. It has been crickets since. When I am done paying this off I don't know if I will keep the service, I feel like I was scammed.

As former PBX operator, agents have excellent "how to speak with customers training". Monthly fee and initiation fee is expensive, but I find they repond within 20 seconds? The two piece system: You speak through a daily charged unit, and wear a bracelet or pendant. No phone required for the most expensive wireless unit. Take both with you when running errands. Pros: Immediate response when button or fall detection is triggered day or night. And I'm clumsy so they check in with me every few days. Cons: My pendants low battery has been replaced 3 times over the past year at a cost of $20 delivery fee each time to get my replacement. Website quotes 18 months, yet I've had to send the pendant back to them and get a replacement at least twice over my first year. Pendant has a 3V, not buttoncell type battery.
