OK but seriously, I've rented several units from this place during times of moving around from the coutnry back to the city and vice versa. The place is family owned and I like dealing directly with the family as opposed to someone who has no real attachment to the business. Cheap rates and ideal storage located right in the heart of manakin. Go here. Rent a ministorage unit. Become a hoarder.

I've been meaning to write this review forever and just getting around to it...For starters, I did…read morenot choose this facility (my family did) and had I been aware of what would occur beforehand I would NEVER have rented here!! Yes, it's a home-owned business. That's great. All that means to me after what I experienced is that they are incapable of affording even the most BASIC of preventative measures against whatever may occur during rental of these units. I moved my things in temporarily while in-between residences. I had my belongings (furniture, kids stuffed animals and toys, books, and some appliances, nothing crazy) in the unit for only a few months. When I went to go grab a few things, LO AND BEHOLD!!! The entire unit had been infested with black widow spiders. And when I say infested, I mean, I couldn't even OPEN THE DOOR ALL THE WAY because they were hanging from the doorway and the babies were flying around. The exterminator I had to hire and pay for to eradicate these spiders told me it was the WORST infestation he had ever seen in his entire career of 20+ years in Virginia. That's not all...after 6 months of dealing with this I was finally able to move. My friends and family and I wore rubber gloves, masks, and protective clothing just in case (and not surprisingly, we STILL found some spiders). After pulling out almost everything but my daughter's toys we found that mice had ALSO infested the unit, ruining every stuffed animal there. I had to throw away half of my belongings because of the mouse droppings, and of course the storage company is not responsible for anything. Disgusting. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to rent from these people again. If this sounds extreme, believe me it's NO JOKE. The absence of solid preventative measures to keep pests out of the units is completely unacceptable for a reputable facility. Never again!!!!

In December 2016, I'd condensed three spaces down to one space costing $216 each month which then I had set up recurring monthly payment from my bank account. It just occurred to me I haven't seen a recent charge on my bank statement, since April 2019. Sharon at the Patterson Ave office looked into my account saying James had tried to contact me, and had mailed letters ... I have never received any contacts or messages from Extra Attic. James lied or looked at the wrong contact info!! The company took it upon themselves to auction off the contents of my unit just a mere few days ago. My information on my account in their computer system was totally wrong. Everything is gone. Forever. After nine years. All of my family's heirlooms, furniture, jewelry, pictures. Gone. I'm so devastated. This MAJOR COMPANY SCREW UP would never have happened if Christine had still been employed at Extra Attic on Patterson Ave. Unbelievable.

The one time move in fee for the rental vehicle, gas and mileage was more than fair. I paid.25 cents a mile and.25 cents a mile for gas and I had the rental truck from 11am until 5pm and my total cost was $8.50. The great customer service, the great truck rental fee, plus the clean rental facility deserves 5 stars from me. I highly recommend!

We just never have enough space, and lord knows this old house was built during a time when closet space wasn't a priority. The perks of Mini Price...a professional team. More than just "climate control " which at our previous space, meant, your 4 walls and a roof overhead to keep out rain, sun, snow. Mini Price actually has Air Conditioning, which makes it much more comfortable when needing to run in for something or to store something away. It feels very secure. My only gripe, would be, they advertise a price on their website, but that price is the "this is where they get you" per our salesperson. You can expect a pretty low price for the first 2 months and then the price goes way up. Apparently this place caters to short term clients, and it is a bargain if you just need a month or two. That being said, the price still isn't bad once you factor in that it is new, clean, AC, secure, a team of professionals on site to assist if needed, and ease of use. Though we did not take advantage of it, they even have moving trucks for move-in use, only fee is mileage. When we went to check this place out, the units with the size space we were seeking were fully occupied, so we ended up with a larger space for not much more than we were paying at the previous place. For that, the value is pretty good. Overall, so far so good. I would definitely recommend Mini Price for your self storage needs.
