Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures of our food because 1. We were starving and 2. Due to COVID we had to eat in our car. We were traveling to Bakers City to see a puppy and wanted some lunch. This place had good reviews and hey burgers sounded delicious when the belly is empty. Their burgers did not disappoint. I got a bacon cheeseburger and added mushrooms with Buffalo chips as my side and wow just yum! My boyfriend got the bourbon bacon burger with onion rings and he was just as pleased. I had the displeasure of attempting to eat "food" from this place. The beef patty was burnt on the outside and still managed to have some pink on the inside, but still dry. They managed to burn the fries and still have it so soaked with grease it was like eating floppy lard out of the can. My recommendation? Great service, our food came out faster then one would expect. we ordered fried green beans to start. I ordered the flat iron steak with coconut shrimp. This place did not disappoint! Great outdoor space, amazing service, and food was fantastic. The servers were extra helpful, brought out bowls of water for the dogs and made sure we had plenty of drinks and were so friendly. The food was made really well and quickly, we came with our kids and they were happy and fed quickly. We will definitely be returning to this location. I rolled in for a good lunch on my back to Seattle today . I didn't get a good meal . I got the best meal of my week long road trip. I came I thinking chicken but the local beef caught my eye. I ordered the brisket burger and I was blown away . Clean , great tasting beef , tasty slice of brisket and fresh cut fries . Was interested in seeing Baker City and getting a good meal. Sorry to say that Eagle Cap did not live up to its YELP rating on July 5th. Since we had ribeye at our campsite to grill soon for ourselves, we were looking for tasty grilled fish. Our waitress informed us right away that they were out of most fish on the menu. I ordered the grilled Sock-eye salmon. Sadly, it was strong, dry and overcooked. However, my roasted sweet potato was undercooked. I did enjoy the creamed broccoli soup and green beans. Good, but not great. We tried the E.C. Grill when it first opened a year or so ago. We had dinner with friends and thought it was very good. The drawback to this diner is the decor. While the food was good, the decor is dark and unappealing. The tables and chair style doesn't lend itself to the type of food served or add to any ambience of the dinning experience. The booths, while small and a bit cramped, would do better without chairs, replaced by benches. The dark paneling only makes the place feel smaller and cramped. Some lighter colors and more ranch-house feel like checkered table clothes and real cloth napkins would really class the place and feel a bit more homey. Good selection of burgers and sandwiches and prices are in-line with most other restaurants locally. Work on the details, like the blue-cheese dressing. Very unimpressive to say the least, looked like Ranch dressing with no blue cheese to be found. Staff was very friendly and efficient. The place was almost empty, save one other table. This maybe why....If the decor was more inviting, would have given this place 4-stars. read more

This restaurant has gone downhill. I ordered a Ribeye steak, medium rare, and it was raw and tough. Cook came out and said there was nothing he cud do.
