Hi, I recently experienced an issue with my washer breaking, which resulted in flooding in my hallway and part of my living room. I contacted AAA Insurance to file a claim, and they referred Eagle Construction to complete mitigation and address the water damage to prevent mold. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The employees from Eagle Construction assured me they would maintain constant communication regarding the necessary repairs. However, this did not happen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I returned home during lunch, I discovered that the flooring in my dining room, hallway, and kitchen had been removed without prior notice. On a subsequent visit, I found that a section of one of my living room walls had also been removed, allegedly because it was wet. Eagle Construction had also assured me that they would take full responsibility for any items damaged during the mitigation process. However, they have refused to accept responsibility for damages caused by their work. They provided conflicting explanations, including claiming a pillar in my house was glued and fell off, then admitting it was nailed with caulking, and finally stating it could not be replaced because I had disposed of the pieces they left on the floor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At no point did they communicate that I needed to keep these pieces for repair, and I assumed they were trash and discarded them before my dog or children could step on them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Based on my experience, I highly recommend seeking a trusted contracting company to complete any repairs in your home rather than relying on Eagle Construction. This review is for the crews from the Stockton location. We had representatives from both the Stockton and Sonora offices, so I wanted to emphasize the two locations differently. Firstly, the (Stockton) mitigation crew is GREAT! We got a call from them within a few hours of our insurance company being informed of our home being damaged from a snow storm. The crew was able to get an emergency tree removal company out on the day it happened, and had the house inspected and sealed within 48 hours of the accident. The crews were on time, efficient and professional in cleaning up every day, respecting our property and animals, and very polite. We then had the crew from Sonora step in for what was supposed to be the repair/restoration process and that did not go well. It was really a lack of communication from the foreman that led to our project being held back nearly three months. the office crew there was professional and helpful, so it really was just a poor experience with ONE employee which is not fair to reflect on a whole office's performance. The company acknowledged their mistake and reassigned our project to the Stockton location. The Stockton crew took over for the Sonora foreman and was able to completely turn our experience around. Blake and his crew were phenomenal with communication, logistics and inspections, the quality of work and consideration to detail was all prioritized. I had a ceiling in my home that was damaged due to a roof leak. The Sheetrock and insulation had to be removed in that area of my bedroom. Another company took care of the wet wood and mold. Eagle construction had to replace the insulation and Sheetrock and crown molding and smoke detector. I'm very impressed at the quality of work that Enrique did and all in one day ( I was told would take 2 days), and he even matched the paint on the ceiling as well as the wall, which were different. This company has drastically gone downhill over the last 5 years and continues to. If you are a prospective homeowner looking to build or move into one of their Richmond communities, especially Parkside Village, I would steer as far away as possible. It has been issue after issue with my home and experience, as well as all of my neighbors. They use the cheapest of building materials and the overall construction is inferior. The shortcuts taken in these homes that are priced over $600,000 are truly awful. You're better off building with Ryan Homes for half the cost but the same awful construction and lack of help on their end to rectify issues. The HOA for Parkside Village, which is still under Eagle management, is just as bad. They have changed property managers countless times in the 4 years I've lived here; and each new manager demonstrates the same level of incompetency as the previous one. If considering moving into Parkaide Village or other Eagle developments, take the time to meet with the neighbors and get their opinion. It won't be positive. read more

Well, here is one of those rare occasions where I have no choice but to rank the vendor with a single star. If I could rank them even lower, I would without hesitation. In short, the other reviews (some a year old) nailed how this vendor performs... which is extremely poor! They want you to sign a contract, want your money up front, and then they don't perform. Oh yes, I made repeat calls and got repeat promises. But nothing happen and my house was still a wreck. We had water damage to our kitchen and family room. At first we had Ann to clean up the water. She did a great job. very hardworking, professional and nice to work with. That was followed up by mold remediation. we had Ramon, Henry, and Rick to get rid of the mold. Great bunch of hardworking guys. Cleaned out all the mold. Right when they arrived they went right to work and were very professional and answered all my questions without patronizing me. I really felt I was in good hands with these people. Ultimately the work they DID do was good, but... - I told them what I needed and they accepted the job. They later said they didn't have the right staff for what I asked for and were going to do the job a different way. When I got the bill, they had charged a ton extra for the more expensive method they chose. No warning. - They decided to reinstall the old fixtures and still charged me hundreds for new ones. Thought I wouldn't have the wherewithal to notice. - They took so incredibly long - it was weeks between when they would come to do work for a day at a time. I did some of the work myself to move things along. They charged me for the work I did, claiming they had done it. - They told me they PITIED me. Wish I could have fired them right there, but I was financially past the point of no return. TLDR: Dishonest, rude, flakey, lack of integrity. We live in an age in which so many contractors make you live in the proverbial "money pit" where projects never end and you are always asked for more money. I am happy to say that Eagle Construction is NOT one of those contractors. On the contrary their professionalism is a welcome relief in this market. They were honest, empathetic, and kind during every step of the project. They guaranteed the quality of their work during the the long and arduous process and any minor details that presented themselves were quickly resolved and brought up to standard. Eagle Construction were absolutely key in getting the insurance company (the longest and most painful part of the process) to pay what was truly owed us since the insurance company was lowballing prices in our inflation plagued economy at every turn. Without the proactive help of Eagle Construction advocating for us with State Farm we would have received maybe 50% of what we were owed. Special thanks go to Chris (electrical and painting) and Jared (cabinets) for their exceptional work and patience. My experience with Eagle Construction has been worst than I imagined was possible. 2 years ago, Nationwide assigned Eagle Construction to my project. The estimator, Zach, went over everything that they would be repairing and had a quote approved for ~$8000. It was clear to me that the project would be much more costly than that (at this point the bid is up to ~$45,000), and I didn't really want to use EC in the first place (I mean, their reputation is terrible...for a good reason). Unfortunately, I apparently had no choice but to stick with Eagle Construction or to cash out the $8,000 and have a more reputable company perform the repairs, which was obviously not feasible for that price. In the past 2 years working with Eagle Construction, I have wasted hundreds of hours working with at least 6 different people, none of which (in hindsight) seem competent, reliable, or trustworthy: the owner, Shaun, and his employees Cathy, Jim, Zach, and Carlos, and Michelle. In the original project I was promised that replacing the deck, reframing the front door, and replacing siding were all part of the project. Due to the ambiguous way that EC writes their quotes (mainly by hours of work and square feet of material), I had no choice but to trust what they told me. Since then, they have determined that much of the work which was promised as part of the project is no longer included and was never included in the contract. In the past two years, Eagle Construction has made a number of significant and costly errors. They worked with JK architecture and produced plans that did not remotely reflect the work discussed; although I asked to see these plans many times, they never showed them to me until after they were submitted to El Dorado county and approved! At this point, new plans had to be drawn up and submitted, where they sat in limbo at the building department for months because of EC's lack of initiative and communication (in the end, after months of delay, all it took was a 10 minute call that I made to the building department to get the plans approved). Over the course of the years which this project has taken, Eagle Construction has many times made commitments to timelines which they have then totally disregarded. I felt stuck with them because over the months they make change orders so that the cost of the work more closely reflects what is required (I have had three change orders so far), and in each change order they have provided themselves extra time in order to keep themselves from violating the initially contracted and committed timeline. However, since they still have yet to deliver a quote that would be reasonable for completing the work required for the repair (something I could cash out and have a reputable company complete), I am still stuck with them to this day. All of this aside, I was optimistic that the workmanship would at least be reasonable. I was wrong. In the repair, there seems to be no two boards that are cut flush; there are large gaps all over, the nailing looks like something I would have done when I was 5. I'm no construction worker myself, but I think I could have done better than EC in every possible way; I have never seen work this sloppy in my entire life. Additionally, and perhaps dangerously, EC totally disregarded the approved plans; the more I learn about the project the more I realize they did wrong. EC seems happy to correct many of these errors, but they would likely not have been noticed if I were not initially critical of their poor workmanship (in fact, they have been happy to let themselves into my house without my knowledge or permission to correct these errors, even though I have repeatedly reprimanded them for their unannounced and unauthorized visits. Eventually I reported them to the local police to get them to stop making these unannounced visits.) Here is a small list of things I think that EC initially did wrong, (and don't count on the inspector catching these, because mine didn't catch any of them). EC did not put required load bearing blocking beneath the house. EC left gaps between the rafters and ridge board, keeping the structure from performing properly. EC did not perform 2 of the 3 inspections required in the plans. EC did not apply the required brackets in the structure. EC did not apply the required nails to the brackets they did use. EC did not install the required number of nails between the rafters and ridge board. EC used structural timber that does not meet the building code requirements. EC apparently intended to do the deck repair without obtaining an applicable permit (also, recall that complete replacement was promised). I tried to keep this short, so there is a lot I left out. The takeaway is: find another contractor. No matter what your insurance company says (they said they were my only choice), no matter what they promises you (it's probably all a lie anyways), no matter what...find another contractor. read more

Our home insurance uses this company as one of their preferred companies. A nice gentleman came out and prepared a quote for our insurance company. Once we were paid out by our home insurance and went to schedule the repairs, I informed Eagle construction that there were a few things that weren't going to need to be repaired, due to our insurance taking some time to close our claim we purchased a new shed and animal enclosure. Our neighbors have dogs as do we, so we had to purchase these enclosures to ensure the safety of our animals. When I informed the gentleman at Eagle Construction of this and that the quote he had originally given us needed to be adjusted he informed me that because the job was cut down (we removed the animal shelter and shed from the quote but we still need roof repair, new fence, and shingles replaced on our garage) that it wasn't worth it for him to do. So we ended up having to go with someone else, who was more than happy to take on the job. I would not recommend Eagle Construction. read more

The communication is HORRIBLE And then you get blamed for it. The project manager that was assigned to my claim quit and I was never told anything until A week later I get a phone call letting me know I would now have another project manager taking over. I have had to start the process again and we still have our leaking roof almost 2 months later and nothing has been done to my home . Truly, a wonderful experience with not only the remediation team but the construction team. I had a major refrigerator leak which caused major, mold and damage to half my kitchen. We have been patiently waiting for 3 months to have our flooded kitchen put back together again. Eagle construction's water mitigation team ripped out our custom pantry shelves and removed all the drywall and ceiling from the pantry. They also removed a 7 ft x 4 ft section of ceiling from the kitchen. This was all done a week after our kitchen flooded on Christmas Eve. It is now April 1st. We still have the huge hole in our ceiling. Someone finally came out and did the drywall in the pantry but not the kitchen ceiling. He can't paint until the drywall is done and he can't replace the shelves until he paints. Our entire pantry of items have been on the floor for 3 months. They took their time with our paperwork and we have done ALL the contact and follow up. They told us we couldn't schedule until we signed a contract but they took 2 weeks to send it. Then we sign it and they tell us they can't schedule until we pay the deductible. So we pay that. Then they told us they can't schedule us until Thursday because the person who does the scheduling doesn't come in until Thursday. Then a guy shows up, Joe, and all he does is review the contract. He is apparently the project manager. He says he has everything he needs to get his crew together and plan the job. Then he deliberately schedules the work to be done on the very days my husband specifically told him we were not available, Wed, Thursday, Fri two weeks later. We rescheduled for the following Monday 3/25, Spring break, which caused my husband to spend the first 2 days of our prescheduled Southern California vacation, at home trying to get at least the drywall finished. The guy shows up Monday with shelving materials! He was not shown ANY of the numerous photos that had been taken of the pantry and was surprised there was no drywall or paint done. He left to go BUY drywall because apparently he was also the drywall guy. He apparently was given no information as to what he was supposed to be doing. He returned and didn't have enough time to complete the job so only the pantry was done. He tells my husband he can complete the entire job that week but the next day, we discovered he was only scheduled for 1 day! Apparently the "crew" was just the one guy, Kyle. We get a call at the end of the week on Friday and he is rescheduled for this Thursday. Again, we specifically told them we are not available on Thursdays and Fridays. So we call again to have it rescheduled. We have received no call back and messages left for the owner have gone unreturned. Our complaints have been ignored and our kitchen is still a mess. Mike Piazza came out to do the estimate and was great. He is the only competent person we have dealt with. The email we received stated he was our project manager. When we inquired as to how we ended up with Joe, we were told Mike is only an estimator. If I had known it would be a 3 month ordeal for them to fix what their own company ripped out, I would have selected another company from the beginning. Do not, under any circumstances, select this company if time, customer service, communication, and competence is an issue. Hahah this company is a joke! It took them over 3 months for them to finish a simple job and they still couldn't do the job right! I had to call them to come back to the house 4 x after they said they were done. They put mis-matching tile in our laundry room, they left open gaps/ cracks on floor and door hinges, to save them money they didn't put lil gold bar on the carpet floor no plastic frame tracker for the sliding closet door all the lil accessories that our home had they didn't put back until I mentioned it. The biggest kicker was when I called them to fix a crack their workers made, the owners brother comes to my house and charges me for that! Whaaat?? Why?? I must assume since Eagle Construction does not advertise through Yelp, Yelp punishes them by making most of the 5 star reviews "not recommended" and you have to search for them at the bottom of the review page. Eagle performed near perfectly at my most recent water loss on 6/4/18 when I flooded out my bathroom. Their dry out team showed up with in two hours and had equipment going immediately. I understand they do not set their prices since they use the price sheets as provided by the insurance industry. It was good to know my agent provided an estimate that closely matched the numbers and details listed on Eagle's estimate. When it came to repairs which included cabinets, flooring, countertops and drywall they were very helpful in pointing me in the right directions for selections. I decided to upgrade my out dated kitchen and change orders were provided promptly with easy to ready price differences. The work space was left clean every day, I was provided weekly schedules, my calls were mostly returned promptly, and the final work was exceptional. Not only were they slow (started in July of 2018 finished in November 2018) the work was lousy and had to call an owner out and have it redone, but now over a year later (November 2019) they are calling us because they never did a final sign off with the city. At first I gave this joke of a place 5 stars because they came out so quick but they came out quick tore apart my bathroom only to leave me with no bathroom for more than 8 months. They had to come many time to redo their terrible work, they ordered the wrong tub three times. The put in a tub frame not only wrong but put it in over bad sub flooring that was suppose to get replaced. I filed an insurance claim for a broken pipe in the wall between my shower and closet with AAA, this was the place they said. I've never had a problem with AAA after 40 years so I went with what they said. BAD MISTAKE. It took them three time to do the sub flooring right. They told my insurance on a qoute when they p[ainted they would remove all towel rods etc in the bathroom. Not only did they not do that they only painted half the bathroom. When they said they were done with my walk in closet they also only painted 1/2 of it, leaving sheet rock and tape fully exposed. They tried to make it right by offer to take down adn put up the base board.. but they did a such a bad job my husband had to do it. It took them four times to come out and paint, don't know why when they onlu painted one wall at a time they said they were down.. I ubnderstand this was done during covid and getting things were slow, but the workmanship was so bad.. I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't know anything about repairs that use this company.. Don't use them... Their tile sub contractor sucked too, they did the tile crooked so it looks so bad..and they argued with me that they did it right.. My home burned 2 years ago. A friend called my daughter as soon as word got around that afternoon and recommended this company. They came to my house and secured the place before sundown that evening. That's where it started. I can't say enough about this company and how they handled my remodel. I am so happy the way they handled everything beautifully. If there was a problem it was corrected immediately. They also, gave me great ideas. My husband and I had the home built in 1973. Eagle Construction - Sonora September 20, 2018 to January 29, 2020 Contract: Reconstructing the interior of a flooded (8 days), 1.600 Sq Ft split level house. Caused by a broken washing machine hose. Plans included replacing original materials and up grades. A plus for choosing Eagle Construction(EC), was their accounting department dealt directly with the insurance company which reduced a lot of confusion and miss understandings on my part. They were professional and patient. Once EC began work, the process was smooth with the exception of several weeks of breaks in between the work. This was due, in part, by subcontractors waiting for materials and arranging schedules. However, I felt they bumped my job on several occasions to begin or complete other jobs. The time taken extended the completion of my house by about two to three months. I understand this is a common practice in the construction business. David, the project manager, was honest, transparent and good for his word. He had quality crews that appeared to take pride in their work. The subcontractors he recommended were local, that allowed me to visit their shops and I found them to be reputable. If there were any problems or concerns with them, David made sure the work was completed to my satisfaction. A major concern I had during construction was a lack of regular communication between us. At times, I would leave emails, texts and phone calls for him and would't get a reply until I followed up with another message asking if he received the original. Toward the end of the job, I felt abandoned. After we talked, communication between us began to improve. Bottom line, I would use Eagle (David), Construction again. read more
