There was a LAYER of dandruff and dirt along the headboard and the mattress pad, it looks like they have NEVER vacuumed or cleaned in there. I saw evidence of possible bedbugs. We went and woke the nice worker up again and asked if there was a different room, there wasn't so we just decided to drive home 2 1/2 hours away. I hope we can get our money back. Just for context, I'm a country girl who shovels poop and tosses my own roadkill. I'm no priss. But I'm not about to pay $130 bucks to snuggle up with someone else's lube. This place was next level gross. I'd even be willing to just let them keep my money if they'd pay their workers for some extra hours to do some deep cleaning. They clearly aren't paying them enough.

Upon booking, you are provided all the necessary details via e-mail, including parking information and the code for the front door. This is a self check-in sort of thing, which works for me. The owner is readily available, via text, although we didn't need to contact her because everything was just fine. The downstairs of the inn includes multiple sitting rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. We definitely took advantage of the fridge and freezer during our stay. There are three guest rooms upstairs. Two share a bathroom at the end of the hall and our room had a gorgeous private bath. There is also a private cottage in the back of the property. (I do recommend earplugs, if you are a light sleeper.) The Crown Suite has plenty of room, including a king size bed, sitting chair, built-in table and bench seats, and a large TV. The bathroom is separated by a large, sliding barn door. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The clawfoot tub was especially enjoyable after a long day of hiking and beer drinking. The bed was quite comfortable. They don't provide breakfast on site, although an ample morning meal is provided at their sister inn, The Mill Inn, which is an easy 10-15 minute walk (or very short drive) from Tudor Inn. (I'll post a separate review of breakfast.) Tudor Inn is located in the heart of downtown with many breweries, restaurants, and shops, as well as Drake Park and Mirror Lake within walking distance. This was a great "home base" for our time in Bend and I would definitely enjoy staying here again!

However, it felt like I was being cased when I unloaded the car. Worse was the confused guy in the incense-filled closet-sized lobby who checked me in. He asked me EIGHT TIMES if it was for one night to the point I grabbed the chained-up pen and wrote "1 NIGHT" in all caps on my arm. I recommend bringing a Sharpie.

They also have a steam room and various exercise machines and weights in the space with an expansive view of downtown Bend. But so glad we arrived after the heat and crowds. We had a king-bed yurt. Mattress was very comfy. And large soft pillows. Grateful for the small fridge and microwave oven. The oven seemed to have a grill/toast option which didn't really work for making toast. But we came prepared with granola and milk and enjoyed our breakfasts on the deck. We imagine during the summer months it much get pretty warm here. Not much shade, but spring and fall are delightful. Nearby hiking trail into the gorge would probably be best approached early or late in the day. Lots of nearby recreational activities including Smith Rock State Park. Sandbagger Saloon serves bar grub. An espresso cart had just closed for the season. Check about nearby equestrian opportunities and hiking on the Deschutes River. Also, very popular with fly-fisher folks.

The manager also refused to give us a refund until I threatened to call the cops for double dipping- they took money for our reservation- that we NEVER canceled and took money for another reservation making the room unavailable. We had to scramble to find a hotel that costs 3x as much because of the holiday weekend and all they did was say "sorry". I will never book Smith Rock Resort again due to lack of accountability and respect from the owner - which is also evident in her responses to these reviews.

Tried to talk to customer service, the same person who took my money and said "oh it's down today." Then she called someone about it and then said they'd be right over to let us in? so confusing. It's very small, no fun lights, no fog at all, can't even see your laser beams in the air. A lot of the targets weren't working.
