I described our needs and asked for a cost. He provided one and was available to do the cleaning a couple of days later, and prior to the date I needed it done by, so that was great. He told me they would arrive between 10 and 11 am and it would take about 60-90 minutes. Then the day of. Holy cow. The person who arrived (Joshua) acted like he did not want to be here at all. Basically, he told me "I'm with TLC Carpet Care" and then just stood on my front porch, looking at me. So I asked if he needed a tour first or if he just starts working and he said he needed to see the space, and acted like I should have known that. So I showed him the top floor and when we got to the basement, his eyes got huge and he snarkily told me something to the effect of "this is gonna cost more money. This space is big." Ummmm, ok...so what are we talking about here? I replied that "when I spoke to Kyle, I explained that I had X rooms upstairs and X bedrooms downstairs in the huge finished basement, which all needs to be cleaned. He provided me this quote." He was rude again and said that a medium sized house costs $X and any extra space is $X per room and this is like 3 rooms, so it's going to cost more like $X. So I told him to proceed, to which he seemed bummed. He went out to the truck and got all of his hoses set up and I heard him try to start some machine several times, to no avail. He finally comes in to the room I'm in and says that the truck doesn't have gas in it, which the cleaning machine needs to run. What?! You showed up to a job without the supplies you need? So he mopes out of the house to go get gas. He leaves my front door wide open while he's gone. He comes back and the machine starts - thank goodness. At this point, I need to leave for an appointment and I let him know that I can't get out of the garage because he's parked in the middle of the driveway and I ask him if he could please move his van. I'm super sweet about it because he's clearly having a rough day. He droops his shoulders exaggeratedly, puts the machine down, and starts walking toward the stairs without saying a word. He's clearly pissed about it. After that, I wasn't home to finish up with him, so I'm not sure if he was as rude to my husband but I couldn't believe his attitude throughout the appointment. If I need carpets cleaned again, you can safely bet your bottom dollar that I won't be calling TLC back. As for the cleaning, the carpets appear to be cleaner. They're sort of crunchy now; not as soft as I expected.

I was pleased to see automated text messages confirmed the job and described what to expect. Rino does a great job of blending multiple communication modes seamlessly (Yelp, person's cell, automated text number). This is a rare skill that should not be underestimated. Unfortunate there was an emergency and I had to cancel the job in the middle of the night before the service (see my review on drywall lol). Then the emergency was taken care of sooner than expected, so I contacted Rino again. We rescheduled service for the following day. An arrival window was provided; they arrived promptly. Ali did a walkthrough and we showed him a couple of stains. They began the service. There was a team of two, Ali and Ivan. Ali performed the stain treatment (stains came out!) and Ivan the all-over carpet cleaning. Both were friendly and professional. I will certainly hire them again.

I told him the price I was given was $375 so he gave a discount that knocked the price down to $391. I didn't want to go back and forth on the last $16 and I shouldn't have had to. I was given a price and I booked the service based on that price so it should have been honored. I added pictures of my receipt and the message stating what the price would be.
