Gotta say I was a bit concerned renting a bike from these folks because of all the wildly varying reviews that contained some bad stories. But our experience was nothing but a delight. We reserved a Harley for my buddy's bday quite a bit in advance. The bike we reserved was there. So that answered concern number one. We rode through the weekend and now my buddy regrets buying the bike he has and wishes he had a Harley - so obviously the bike was in great mechanical shape too. That was concern number two. Apparently, upon return, the office was closed and when my buddy called, the first person he talked to said the owner was on his way - that he just walks slow. After 10 minutes of waiting he called back and this time talked to the owner who said it was actually his day off and told my buddy how to handle the drop off (very easy). This is no slam on the owner - I suspect it was an honest mistake on the part of whoever first answered the phone. Overall the owner was really nice, the bike was available, in great shape and we had an absolutely awesome weekend with it. Would highly recommend! read more

Ridiculously easy and straightforward. I rented a Harley-Davidson here for a day in order to check out the bike in the process of bike shopping and was pleasantly surprised. The price for the rental was reasonable, the ease of pick-up was awesome, and the bike was absolutely superb. I was kinda expecting to be given something a bit beat up or rough - to the contrary, the bike was all but brand new. I'm a pretty picky guy, and I still find it hard to find a real complaint: everything went smoothly across the board. Let me address misconceptions suggested by other reviewers. Yes, you need a motorcycle license (a VA Class M2 or equivalent) to ride a motorcycle legally. That isn't Eaglerider's fault, it's literally the law. Yes, you must put down deposits for the motorcycle, get insurance, and otherwise account for the unique risk of riding a motorcycle. Motorcycle riding is an inherently dangerous thing to do. I'd highly recommend this place, and will definitely be going back if I ever feel like renting again. read more

This was my second time renting from Fairfax Eaglerider. Peter has been wonderfully accomdsting both times to let him adjust my pickup and drop off time on short notice when I couldn't make my initial time. Took the time to explain all the bike details and even gave me general riding tips for beginners. On my second trip, I had a street glide reserved. Peter made sure to call me and let me know in advance that the bike wasn't available due to inventory shortage and substituted for a road glide. Not a big deal and actually worked out my favor because the handling was easier for me with such a heavy bike. Definitely looking to rent again when I'm back in town. read more

This was one of the worst displays of customer service I have ever received. 3 weeks ago we reserved a specific bike for our engagement pictures. This afternoon, when we went to pick it up we were told that the bike we reserved had been in an accident on Friday (we came in on Sunday) and that they had brought another "similar" bike for us to rent. This bike was NOTHING like the one we reserved and we requested a refund. We were told that we would not receive a refund but that we can use their services another time. When I asked why we were not informed about the crash he said "well it happened after we were closed." Somehow they didn't think it would be important to call us over the next day in a half, when they were open, to inform us about the issue. We also were told that they would not be giving us a refund because "it's not their fault someone crashed the bike." I am appalled that a company feels as if they can operate like this. We immediately called Harley Davidson and they hooked us up with the perfect bike. Do not use this company if you expect any sort of communication, respect, or customer service. read more

I reserve a Harley for the Rolling Thunder two months in advance. On the day of me picking up the bike that i made reservation for I was told that the bike was not available. They gave me something that i was not comfortable with but since the only reason i flew to D.C. Was for the Rolling Thunder i took the bike. I was told that they knew a week ago that the bike was not going to be available, I just wish I would of being told in a timely manner, not the day of. Overall The process was fast. read more

Rented a Triumph Tiger. Bike had only 300 miles on it so was in excellent shape and fun too ride. I rode pretty hard over 300 miles through twisty mountains and ended up getting over 50 mpg, which surprised me. Butt was fine at the end of a long day. Local staff and management was extremely friendly and personable. I find a couple of the corporate rental policies strange and onerous, but this is not a fault of this office. read more

I made my reservation in August for sep 14th to get a email saying I've been issued store credit due to the lack of inventory. I don't want store credit I wanted my rental. Terrible business. I have been an eagle rider member for a year and have been treated like absolute garbage. The concept is great, but man these guys really do not care about their customers whatsoever. Their website/check-in process always has an issue, they have failed multiple times to refund me the money that was due to me and I keep dealing with incompetent people at multiple locations. Calling customer service is pointless. I will be canceling my membership soon and advise you to stay away. read more

The EagleRider club membership is almost a complete waste of money. I was a member for a full year, but between a huge lack of inventory (I never received the motorcycle I rented unless I paid the additional fee to guarantee the model, nothing available but Harleys), glitches with the app, and worst of all, blackout dates for nearly every weekend of the summer, I lost money on this. When I finally cancelled my membership out of frustration and to prevent being locked into another year, I still had seven unused credits ($210 worth) that I couldn't find a way to use before they were wiped out 30 days after leaving the club. This was a total rip off. If you live in the D.C. area, don't waste your money or time on this membership. read more

I had an awesome experience renting a Heritage Softail Classic to go and see friends and family around Virginia. When I booked the rental it said the bike would be the 96 come motor but I actually got the 2017 with the 103 ci. Tommy was very helpful and provided excellent service. read more

I decided at about 3pm on a Saturday I wanted to try out Eagle Riders in Falls Church. The guy I spoke to on the phone was really nice and answered all my questions even though they were incredibly busy. He told me what they had and told me to come on down. Even though it's Saturday and I'm strolling in right before they close the staff was eager to help me. The level of customer service was refreshing and well above the standard in this area. The paperwork takes a few minutes then you are hopping on your bike. They will even let you park your car there while you are renting so you don't have to get dropped off which was unexpected but welcomed. They got me out on a HD Heritage Softail that was in great shape. I could not believe that this bike had been a rental for its life. It only had 9k miles on it as well. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's a bit expensive and because of thier 300 mile limit on my 24 hour rental. Overall great experience and I will be renting from them again soon. read more

Horrible experience. I paid almost $500 for a 2 day motorcycle rental. I ordered an Ultra Classic and confirmed my rental before traveling from Hawaii to Washington DC. When I got here they gave me a road glide. The person helping me was arrogant and sarcastic and he wreaked of cigarette smoke. He said his name waz Carl Rowan and that he was the General Manager. He said he saved the best bike foe me and when I laughed at him he started acting like a little punk. I asked for at least a discount and he made some loser fake discount saying he wasn't going to charge me a second day of the "event fee" for Rolling Thunder. Um....the event is tomorrow. I paid the event fee in my bill and the second day is Monday which has nothing to do with the event. Total ripoff. Highly recommend never using Eagle Rider of DC read more

I reserved a specific size bike, Sportster, well in advance of the pick up date. Despite confirming this reservation days in advance, there was no Sportster available but only a much larger bike. The bike available was too big for me but I didn't want to miss the last rolling thunder. I was left with the choice of accepting the big bike and risking injury or not participating in the last rolling thunder. I just wonder when they knew they were not going to have a Sportster for me. Then they just gave me a cursory overview of this big bike that I was not familiar with and didn't bother to tell me not to leave the keys in the bike but they should be stored away. As a consequence I left the keys in the bike like normal and it popped out and was lost resulting in a $200 extra charge. NO break on that despite it being their fault for not telling me how the bike works when I picked it up. At least they should have warned me about the keys! I see I am not alone in these complaints. Several people in line with me also had similar negative experiences. I just hope Eaglerider-Washington is paying attention and will take steps to correct these errors because it is a good concept, but poor execution. read more

Our experience with patriot/ Eaglerider in Fairfax has been a nightmare. My husband and I reserved an Ultra with a tour pack, and Paid 65.00 to guarantee the Ultra. Because we flew into Va. from Florida, were riding 2up, and had reservations in Snowshoe WV, the importance of having a bike with a tour pack was huge. The whole trip with our friends who live locally was planned around a 3 day ride. When we got to the dealership, Eaglerider had two Ultra's on the lot that they had tagged to other people. So, they were going your put us on a Road glide with a tiny seat, no tour pack, and not even a back rest. When we refused the bike because of back issues/age we were informed that we would not be refunded our $1200.00 cost. We will continue to fight this, and will never rent from Eaglerider again. Just beware that this company does not honor your $65 model guarantee contract. read more

Eaglerider is awesome. The staff at the DC/Falls Church location was helpful, patient, and very well-infotmed. i had not riden in a long time so they suggested i start off with a HD Sportster 883. I rode for 11 hours (including breaks) and 329 miles from DC to Shenandoah National Park then south along beautiful Skyline Drive to Crozet (for their famous pizza) and back to DC. The Sportser rode like silk (for a Harley) and I fell in love with cruising all over again. I'm renting again this week (7/21) and up grading to a HD Heritage Classic. Thanks Eaglerider! read more

Terrible excuse of a company. Made reservations a month in advance for two motorcycles. They took our money and charged our credit cards immediately. Drove 8 hours in a car to El Paso for a planned 3 day trip to Big Bend on the bikes. Got to the location and they did not have the bikes we reserved. Nobody even bothered to call us and tell us they weren't going to be available. And apparently the place we picked them up from is used to this happening to a lot of other customers. And Eaglerider is doing nothing to fix it. Ruined our vacation. Do not rent from these guys! read more

I've rented from Jay and the team five times this year. The staff is friendly and professional. The bikes are in great shape and I love the selection of Harleys. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the other brands as soon as I work my way through all the H-D models. The only improvement I can think of would be faster paper work processing for regular customers. Overall, the rental process involves lots of paper. It would be cool to see it all paperless which could possibly make the process faster and easier for the staff and customers. Looking forward to more rentals before winter hits! read more

Like with the other rider who commented, Eaglerider also fouled up our reservation (which we corrected) and then made an unannounced bike substitution (which was take-it-or-leave-it). It was the same kind of bike, so we took it. Not only did they not inform us of the change beforehand, but two Eaglerider employees had inconsistent stories for us as to what had happened. Several weeks before a planned trip, we reserved with Allison a particular white HD soft tail that had 300 miles on it. Antonio, the mechanic, had shown it to us and I had sat on it to check the comfort of the controls. We picked it from among the other soft tails because it had low miles on it. In checking up on the reservation a couple weeks later, we discovered that Allison apparently got the date for the trip wrong. We suspect that she had not properly recorded the reservation at all. Earlier, they had misspelled our last name on a gift certificate my wife had bought for me for Father's Day. We corrected the spelling when we made the initial reservation, but our name was still misspelled when we checked on the reservation later. Had we not confirmed and corrected the reservation, we have no doubt we would have been out of luck on the day we showed up for the ride. As it was, on the day of the ride Allison offered us a black version of the soft tail with 32K miles on it. When we asked why the change, she told us that the white one had been in a wreck. Accepting this story, we went out on the substitute. An hour into the ride, the engine started backfiring and would not idle. During the whole trip, I had to keep the revs up at stop lights to keep it from stalling. What a pain. Also, the pipes apparently were custom. They were loud, high and hot, to the point that my wife had to ride with her foot on the saddlebag to keep the pipes from burning her leg through her pants. Antonio greeted us on our return on Sunday. One of the two white soft tails was outside (in perfect shape) and I asked him where the other one was. He said it was out. I asked him why we did not get the white one he had shown us. He said that we were reserved for a black one that had crashed. I reminded him of the day we picked the white one (their inventory #59) and that it is specified on our written reservation. Abandoning his earlier story, he said he did not work in reservations and did not know what had happened. I mentioned the backfiring and idle problem and he said it might have been caused by the custom pipes. This obviously leaves some questions, like: What bike, if any, actually crashed? Why did Eaglerider rent to someone else the low-miles white one that they committed to reserve for us? Why did Eaglerider not tell us before our trip of the change? Why did Allison and Antonio tell us inconsistent stories about what actually happened? Getting the gift certificate should have been a forwarning. Allison left every impression on the phone that she was both uninterested in what she was doing and knew very little how to accomplish it. When so much planning goes into a bike trip, it is completely unacceptable to us that so much apparently can go wrong with a reservation at Eaglerider. This time we got a bike substantially similar to the one we reserved, thankfully. But we could just as easily have wound up with nothing acceptable, like the other rider who commented. Given Eaglerider's demonstrated inability to get and keep reservations straight, and its utter lack of communication with the rider when things go wrong, we do not trust Eaglerider with our precious vacation planning. We would rather not ride, than to plan on and make major commitments for a ride and then be disappointed. Sorry, we will look elsewhere for our next ride. read more

I have rented from Eagle Rider DC before and found the motorcycles to be in great shape, but that is what I'd expect from. What is unexpected however, was the recent experience I had with their customer service representative. I wanted to procure a one-way deal, picking their bikes up in Chicago and riding them back to DC. I had spoken to them on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the preceding week. On Monday, I went to send in my paperwork and confirm the trip. Apparently they had just agreed to have the motorcycles shipped back. They did not send me a note to give me a booking deadline, or even post a policy about confirming within a set amount of time. I wasted a ton of time putting a trip together for me and some friends. They didn't offer a coupon...nothing. The bikes are fine, they just aren't organized as a business. Deal with caution. read more

I needed a quick rental to take my VA riding test and Eagle Rider made it happen. Not only did they give me a suitable bike at a reasonable price, but I got some of the most outstanding go-the-extra-mile customer service I have ever experienced. When I found out I couldn't ride alone to the DMV on my learner's permit I panicked. I needed to get the test done so I could go on a road trip and the incredibly helpful young man behind the counter (John) volunteered to accompany me on his day off. (!!) Who wants to spend their day off at the DMV? But he did. He rode with me, waited with me, and stuck it out on the test grounds until I passed and was legalized. I consider this to be a display of Beyond the Call of Duty service. I give Eaglerider a big thumbs up and John gets a gold star! read more

This summer I decided to rent a bike for a one day ride with my boyfriend, this was a birthday gift, my boy friend is a motorbiker The model we aks for was not available on Saturday, so 'eaglerider' propose to rent it on Sunday When we went there on Sunday around 5h in the afternoon nobody was present, no phone call from anybody, nobody answer to our phone calls It seems the shop was closed all the afternoon, the neigthboorhood confirm it We complain but the renter refuse any discussion and of course refuse any refound Eaglerider simply takes advantage of the situation in a very abusive manner Result : 250$ lost , a complete afternoon lost I just recommend to avoid this bike rental ! read more

I made a reservation for a Honda 750. Upon arrival to pick it up I had to wait an hour for the employees to process a larger rental group. No problem, I had all weekend. The folks seemed nice. I finally get on the road an hour late and 3 times within the first 10 miles the bike dies while on the freeway. Three times I get it started and limp toward an exit. The last time it dies there is no shoulder. This could have been very serious. I made it off the freeway to a parking lot where I called Eagle to come get me and the bike. My weekend plans were spoiled because of a lack of maintenance on their part. I got my money back but the weekend was a bust. They offered another bike but it was now after noon. A great disappointment. I don't recommend them. read more

I rented a bike from this place along with a friend. Be booked the rental online at night when the store was closed for two days. He then called me and I said no, we only need a one day rental. He called the very next morning to change the reservation to one day and was told it would be OK. When he looked at his credit card, he was charged for two days. When we picked up the bikes, he was told he'd have to speak with the owner to get a refund. 3 weeks later, he's getting the runaround and they won't refund the difference. This is just plain unethical. Whatever you do, don't book a bike online and try to make changes. Also, the online reservation system doesn't check the actual availability before letting you reserve a bike. It let both of us book a model and then we were contacted to say it's not actually available. Be careful renting something from here and do it by phone only read more

I definitely recommend this location! The staff is welcoming and professional. The bike was ready to go and it only took 5 minutes to finish the paperwork. Bike was new, great and I put over 1200 miles on it. Return was a breeze too! Only suggestion is that the rental in in the dealership which opens at 10:00 I was picking up at 9:00 but they had a side door that was accidentally open so I was able to walk in find them. I was lucky to get in during pick-up an return. Overall nice location, clean bikes and professional staff. read more

They really need to shut down their website as it says that bikes are available when they aren't. Booked a motorcycle and took a cab to the rental place and they said that no motorcycles were available. I understood that it was the weekend, but seriously, how long does it take to take down a website or have somebody go in and post a banner on the page saying that the website doesn't actually accurately reflect availability. In any case, I was stuck without a ride, but luckily had a friend close by that could drive me home. I didn't get a chance to ride any of their bikes, but the fact that this isn't the first time this has happened tells me that they don't pay attention to the details. That does not really inspire confidence in how they handle their fleet and would never trust getting on one of their bikes. read more

Terrible customer service and inventory is low? I called them today and the guy I talked to was rude. I was asking his opinion of the feel of the different bikes and he was very short with me and I felt as though he was talking down to me. I decided on a bike that I wanted and I wanted two - one for me and one for my brother (we are both experienced riders, used to own but just didn't ride that much anymore). He then told me they only have one on Honda NC700X, I asked about anything else similar, he names off two others but they only had one of each of those as well. So we would have to get two different types of bike no matter what we do? ......ok, so can you offer any sort of deal since the bikes will be different, especially seeing as how it doesn't tell you online that there are only one of each? I received a snappy answer, "No." read more

Likewise, I've rented from Eagle Rider in other locations in the US. More than happy with each rental. The DC Eagle Rider location put an end to any positive recommendation I might have. Rented two bikes for two days. Received email confirmation and even spoke with Eagle Rider to get human verification, review details, and add insurance. One last call the day before to make sure all was in order when I was told the store was closed on the confirmed day of pickup - and that my second day (when the store was open) could not be honored because all of the bikes were rented for the entire week. Son was visiting from Colorado and we were really looking forward to sharing a ride together. Don't know we will ever get this chance again. Had the best experience here. Paperwork took just a couple minutes. Handed over my credit card, license, signed and initialed two or so sheets of paper and I was on my way! The bike was in great shape and solidly handled the few hundred miles I put on it. Brought it back and they went over the checklist, just a few minutes later I was on my way. The staff is so great, very helpful, understanding, efficient, and just cool.I would definitely recommend this location! And will definitely be renting again for me and my family. read more
