Pulled it out today and went to throw a coat of sealer on it and noticed it didn't seem to look like pressure treated any longer. Digging around I found the deck boards stamped as Kiln dried heat treated. Checking their website also states that it is pressure treated. Not what I paid for. read more

I visited Leonard to learn about Leer truck caps for an upcoming truck I am buying soon. They took me out into the parking lot to a truck with an actual cap already installed to show me and help answer my questions. The cap had a headline installed, along with fold down clothes hangers, a hidden compartment for fishing rods, a triple power port, overhead lights, and integration with the existing truck security system - so that the back door on the cap could be locked/unlocked with the electronic fob - same as the truck doors. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Bought a truck topper for my Tundra. Pros: initial buying experience was good and salesman was helpful. Spent plenty of time walking through different options prior to buying. Installation was quick/efficient. The Cap looks nice on my truck. Cons: quotes from salesman were informal (actual price was always higher with taxes, installation, etc). I had to keep asking for the out the door price when I was looking at different options. No explanation or walkthrough once the cap was installed (lights, locks, different keys, removing rack). It may be nit picking but i found it it annoying that the cap was really dirty on the top as it had not been cleaned prior to installation. Since I washed and waxed my truck already that day, I had to wash it for a second time on my Saturday. read more

Went to Leonard's in Manassas to buy a trailer. Was told Aaron (the manager) that he could offer me 3% off the listed price of $2350 for a 5x8 enclosed trailer. Called back a day later and gave a credit card number for a deposit, and was charged the full $2350. When i asked about the promised discount, Aaron was dismissive and rude. He offered to refund the deposit, and I agreed, but he refused to refund the full amount. Rude & Dishonest. Frankly, I'm glad I dodged the bullet on dealing with them. I Purchased two trailers on the same day about three years ago from Leonard. Couple months ago my trailer was hit by someone, and I called Leonard to see if they would look at it and try to repair it. They told me to send it down. I called a tow truck at a cost of $350 and had the trailer delivered to Lennard and they refused it said it was beyond repair. A few years back, I brought my Suzuki XL-7 here for a hitch and brake-wiring. They did a fine job and I have had no problems with what they did in the years since. I have also come back to look for utility trailers, and they have quality and competitive price. Shoutout to Leonard Buildings in Manassas, VA for their terrible service! Pulled up 20+minutes before close to ask questions on their sheds. Two workers were out front and scattered as I pulled in. Went to the showroom and office to find no one. Finally found a guy working in the garage, said hello to him. He says hi and puts his head down and continued to work, not concerned if I needed anything. I then continued to walk around and view the sheds on my own. I finally see another employee who is now helping the people who came after us. Follow them to the office and what do you know, he LOCKS the door behind him. I knock and the CUSTOMER finally comes to the door and says he's not helping anyone else. I go to the window and knock on it because the employee is sitting at his desk and he stated, "We are closed. I have to be home by 4:30 and I'm the only one here!" I tell him how he saw me pull up before the customer he was working with at least 20 minutes before close. Still "I have to be home by 4:30." As I'm writing this, it's 4:21, the employee is still working and his customers left 10 minutes ago. I'll take my business elsewhere and be sure to share my experience. I am super pleased with the service that I have recently received from Leonard's in Manassas. Quite some time ago, I purchased a very nice looking cap for my pickup. It is a Leer cap and I could not be happier with it. Recently I took the truck in for inspection and the inspector informed me that stop lamp on the top of the cap was coming on with the left turn signal as well as the brake light. He asked me to bring it when I could leave it for a couple of hours. I wonder why no one had ever found this during past inspections. I took it back to Leonard's after it has been a number of years since it was wired wrong. The manager fixed the wiring in a matter of minutes and also did a few minor repairs to the cap all for no charge. The seal on the cap had managed to work its way loose and they replaced that for me too, at a very reasonable cost. I will continue to do business with them, the are honest, and if they make a mistake such as the incorrect wiring, they will make it right without hesitation. read more

My husband and were taking a trip north to visit our folks. We borrowed a trailer from one of my husbands buddies and what a piece of junk. Once we got over 50 it shook really bad and I didnt think it was safe. Once we got into VA one of the tires was really low and I googled trailer parts in Manassas and found Leonards. We went in and spoke with Matt the manager and he told us the axle was bent on the trailer and the tires would need to be replaced. He then told us it would do the same thing again since the axle was bent. My husband called the guy we borrowed it from to see if he would ok the repairs. We left the trailer at the store to get the repairs done. We had to buy a new one to finish our trip. Matt really took care of us and sold us other stuff with the trailer like a spare tire that we didnt even think about, but really did need. Great customer service. The salesman was really nice and helpful. My only complaint is their pricing. They have a reputation around town for being high in price. I was in need of a utility cap for my truck so I figured I'd go see what they could do for me. I knew averages prices ahead of time. So I went and priced a Leer cap and for fairly basic options the price came to around $3,600. I nearly pooped myself so I did about two minutes of searching and made a couple phone calls. Find another cap dealer! I bought a replacement window at full price that came with locks straight from LEER. I got it installed through Leonard since LEER doesn't deal directly with customers. The lock on one side stopped working so I drove up there on a Saturday to see if it was covered under warranty. Some guy wrote a bunch of stuff down and said he'd call me on Monday. On Wednesday or Thursday I finally called since I heard nothing from them. They put me on hold until it went to voicemail. Wow, what great service! I called again the next day. They asked for the serial number again which I told them I didn't have. They tried to claim they couldn't do anything without the serial to which I responded, "you had no problems ordering a new part for me and taking my money". So the guy looked up the order in the computer and said, "ya, looks like you ordered the cap less than a year ago so it's covered under warranty". Wow, was that hard? "Just bring in the receipt", the guy told me. "I don't have the receipt, but you just looked up the order in your system so you know it's a legitimate order that is covered with the LEER warranty", I told him. "Sorry". I could hear he was being coached by Matt in the background. This seems pretty simple to me. You make a warranty claim with LEER and they send the new lock. It's not like it's going to cost you anything. It's UNDER WARRANTY! Even if it cost you $10, isn't it better than a poor rating on YELP? How shortsighted can you be? Manager refused to hear my complaint and police assistance was required after an employee appeared to become aggressive and rapidly progress towards violence. All this occurred because they did not want me to witness the repair work. Poor customer service normally starts at the top. A manager not wanting hear your complaint firsthand speaks volumes. The worst customer service I have ever had. I picked up a trailer from them the other day. They added $280 of accessories to my bill with out even telling me. They also added $200 to the price that we agreed on. I left the shop and took the trailer home to find out that some of the interior trim had been removed. When I called the store to get the issues resolved the salesman told me to bring back the extra accessories and they would redo the contract. When I asked them about the difference in price quoted vs the price I paid the salesman told me I was wrong then he hung up the phone on me. I am in sales myself and I know you cant add accessories to a deal with out informing the customer. I would never do business with Leonard again.
