First of all, while I was there, they rushed me through my appointment. I then took my new prescription I got from Eagle Vision, ordered 2 different glasses online from 2 different companies (which I had never had issues with in the past). I Received the glasses in the mail & they are both the same & completely wrong. I am farsighted & it appears that they set me up as nearsighted? Either way, it is completely incorrect. I called to see what Eagle Vision could do for me after giving me the incorrect prescription from the beginning & they are trying to charge me $55 JUST TO LOOK AT MY GLASSES & only to compare the glasses with their prescription they had wrote me, instead of make it right & write me a new prescription. They gave me no option for them to make it right, other than charge me more $ just to even LOOK at the glasses with THEIR faulty prescription. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I live in Mammoth, so not only did I already have to drive 3 hours, pay a lot of $ for gas, & the prescription itself. BUT now that my insurance was already used up for the next year, I have to go elsewhere & pay more $ out of pocket for another ophthalmologist to make Eagle Vision's screw up right. 100% do NOT recommend. Once again front office staff is sub par. This is after multiple chances given. The latest is i made an appointment prior to leaving for Costa Rica for vacation and told them I wouldn't be back until 2 days prior to my scheduled appointment. I get back to a message stating they have canceled my appointment due to the fact that I didn't confirm it last week. The front office staff is extremely unprofessional, don't check your insurance coverage, expect you to, the way the most of the office staff spends their time that I've observed is chatting and laughing loudly about personal lives amongst each other while the clients sit waiting. The last time I waited in the exam room for the doctor with no updates for over 1.5 hours. Hard to believe a medical office is run this way. Update: In response to your reply.. so I'm lying about waiting on the room? I was absolutely left in the room and told when you finally showed up that there was a problem with the previous patient which I understand but not to be updated at all?? In regards to my insurance my card was on file and I had it but they ordered my contacts without charging the insurance and when asked why the office staff told me it was my responsibility. In regards to happy environment, yes, I agree unless their too busy doing that and not taking care of the clients. Buyer beware! When purchasing glasses at this establishment they make you sign a form stating that you may not return your glasses. I foolishly signed the form, never having any issues with glasses I bought at other optometrist's offices. After about half an hour of wearing the glasses, I'd get a raging headache. I had them adjusted three times. The headaches continued. I had to revert to using my old glasses and had no issues. The fourth time I went in, they told me they could try thinning the lenses that would cost me $55.00. I had already spent almost $600 for the glasses. This place is ridiculously expensive, but I recently moved here and didn't know where else to go. Of course, I wasn't happy about this so they agreed to waive the $55.00 fee. They determined that I should have a multi lense for computer work and reading and asked me why I didn't tell them I needed this type of lense. I explained I came in for an eye exam expecting them to tell me what lenses I needed. No one asked me what I needed the glasses for. They made me feel like it was my fault that the glasses they prescribed for me was giving me headaches and had the audacity to tell me I was treating THEM badly! You will absolutely not get a refund no matter what the circumstances are and may end up with glasses that are totally worthless after spending a ton of money. This is one of the worst experiences I've had as a consumer. ***I'm absolutely appalled that a business owner's response would be an outright lie. I did not yell or scream, but used a conversational tone. Not one thing she said is accurate. She was not even present, so for her to fabricate a story about what happened shows how poorly she operates her business. The young lady on the phone said that non-insured exams are $94. That is a quote. And we clearly said we have no optical insurance. They insisted on seeing our insurance card anyway and as a result we have been billed about $550 for two exams. Why were we not charged the non-insurance price? This is predatory pricing. Called to cancel my appointment after receiving a text that it would be 90 minutes. I've had many exams, 30 minutes tops. Was informed then by the receptionist that would be charged a $95 fee. Response to Reply: Hi Courtney. I never stated VSP was a medical insurance. It is in fact a vision insurance that covers the exact type of exam I had performed. I attempted to answer that 3 way call, which I told you when I called you back immediately, but it disconnected when I answered. You may not know this about me but I work in healthcare. Specifically in insurance and billing. I find it hard to believe that three separate VSP representatIves would lie about the exact CPT codes that you billed being covered but the easiest way to clear all this up would be to bill VSP and have them send me a claim denial... Which I asked you to do. I also paid my medical insurance co pay the day of my exam.I have all the documentation I need so I look forward to hearing from that attorney. read more

I very rarely write reviews but felt I needed to because of the awful experience I had with Eagle Vision in Carson City. I hope this review will save someone a lot of time and money and frustration. I went to Dr. K at Eagle Vision at the beginning of this year (2024) and had my eyes checked and received a new prescription from Dr. K. I had them put the new lenses/new prescription into my old frames. When I received the glasses back from the lab, I could not see clearly out of them. New measurements were taken, and they were sent back to the lab to try a different type of lens. The second pair I received were not better. Dr. K then changed the prescription without rechecking my eyes, and a third pair of lenses were made. They were worse than the first 2. The prescription from Dr. K was NOT correct. Dr. K refused to recheck my eyes. At that point the staff told me they could not make any more lenses for me. That was it. Dr. K's resolution was for me to come in and buy a pair of reading glasses... This whole ordeal took several months, and I ended up paying $278 for an eye exam that was not correct and a pair of glasses that I cannot wear, as they did not save my original lenses and would not make it right. Do NOT go here! The doctor and staff at Costco in Carson City are amazing, and I got the right prescription and glasses the first time with no issues at all. read more

I was a little disappointed with the custo.er service when it came to the girl that I sat with for the glasses. I've been coming to Eagle Vision for quite a few years and have always had a good experience. Not the case on this visit. The technician that did all the pre Dr exam was very nice and as usual Dr K was pleasant. Not so when it came to the girl that helped with the glasses, she had no smile, slouched back in her chair, a very unprofessional demeanor, was very matter of fact, didn't offer to help pick out a frame, just put them on the counter and proceeded to sit back in her chair. She asked me which prescription i wanted filled, has no idea Dr K had written 2 different rx's , i asked about the different in the prescription and had to pry the information out of her as she seemed very disinterested in my questions, like i should have known. Very upset with this part of the visit. Once I was sitting to wait to be checked out, her and another girl sat there whispering and turning my direction, rude. Very quick and very efficient and totally pleasant the entire time. I really love the fact that they took the time to go through different frames, explain the different lenses and made sure that I was totally comfortable before making a purchase. That really matters, especially when this is my first real eyeglass purchase and I didn't know bifocals from progressives from sunglasses.haha. I was called not for vision exam but glaucoma test, blood pressure, and she was not happy I declined the photo of my retina. I said I see another doctor for all those things and I just saw him 6 months ago. It felt like they were padding the bill. I was sent back out to the very small waiting area with no seats because they were all taken I was told it would be another 15 minutes. I talked to the receptionist she said it could take up to 90 minutes for the waiting and I was told that...no way was I ever told and will never go back I left after that and made another appointment with someone other place. read more

Licensed, yes...low vision device supplier, yes. Friendly, yes. Effective in supplying prescriptions and devices, NO. My mom received a recommendation for a digital magnifier. Pretty expensive unit. The demonstration of the unit was NOT designed around a nearly blind individual that also has a hearing deficit! 5 minute demonstration to an 89 year old woman...it was paltry at best. Then the unit started having problems, we took it back under warranty and were scolded because they needed ALL the parts and boxes...which my mom NEVER GOT in the FIRST place!!! Then they KEPT the charger we had when I went to pick it up...150.00 later btw, citing it wasn't the correct charger in the first place and that's how come the battery wouldn't charge any more. When I picked up the full replacement complete with all accessories, THAT'S when I realized we never had the correct accessories in the BEGINNING ! I pointed this out when they informed me the new unit had no warranty! The dispensing technician fell short of outright calling us liars, but couldn't explain why our original unit was incomplete as it left their store. Here's my theory, my mom left with their demo unit, used their own charger as it came with NONE, didn't realize she was supposed to get the whole box of various containers and accessories and they weren't smart enough to see the dilemma! Argument was pointless but I AM going to call the mfg and tell them what a horrible experience it was arguing with a 20 something who clearly wasn't going to do anything to investigate the circumstances other than an opportunity to be telling me HER recollection of the events, no matter that the fact that my mom had NO USE for the European adapter or any of the other accessories we allegedly didn't return !!! Why would we keep these items ???? They are unit specific! Then there's the EVERY 2 month appointments they scheduled for my my mom's glaucoma management! My mom's glaucoma has been managed with a surgical Stent placed TEN YEARS ago! She paid her copay several times before we slammed THAT door!! An utter rip off! 2 1/2 weeks ago I stopped into this location to pick up a pair of new eyeglasses. The initial meeting, which included a fitting and a conversation with one of the technicians was excellent, and a decision to purchase was made. At the time of purchase, I was told that it would take two weeks to receive my glasses, and they would be sent directly to my home. Unfortunately Two weeks to the day I received a notification that my glasses had arrived, at which point I confirmed that they were to be sent to me by mail since I live three hours away from the location. However, after not having received my glasses I contacted the location at which point they told me they still had my glasses and they had not been mailed. And then question whether or not I had paid the shipping fee which was insulting considering I had given them $600 for the purchase which included the fee. So now I continue to wait, which is not the end of the world I just had always assumed anything that required medical insurance to purchase should be hot held to a higher standard of service. i had an appointment on 6-15-23 at eagle vision and asked to use their restroom. the girl I asked didn't know what to say, so she asked dr. Khankhanian if I could. Khankhanian told her no that I had to use the one at their other location which was across the parking lot. Not so close. Khankhanian had just put drops in my eyes to dilate them so I couldn't see very well and was sensitive to the light. I'm not sure why I couldn't use theirs, if it was due to me being Hispanic or male because it is an all female staff. I felt very uncomfortable, disrespected and discriminated against. read more

That makes it sound like I'm unable to come to a conclusion myself. Yes, I waited to post my review, as I was still hoping to reach a reasonable outcome. When that did not happen, I posted my review. Fine, you were paid by us only, and that was both the co-pay and any overage from what eye insurance did not cover. Therefore, we paid our full share, yet received incomplete service. You chose to mail the glasses to us, so that is your decision/expense, and thank you for mailing them. However, the glasses were not perfect, needed adjustment still, and we were told to go to Walmart for that. In fact, delivery was delayed a week since they did not meet criteria as I was told by your office manager. And you still have not addressed mentioning my eye condition without my consent, a possible infraction of confidentiality. Am I bitter as you stated? This place was amazing! I was visiting from the Bay Area and I had lost both my contacts due to them being flushed down the sink by a five year old that shall remain nameless. Usually I carry spares everywhere, but of course, not this one time. I called several WalMart vision centers, and they were not helpful. This was the one optometrist that was open on the weekend and they were so kind and able to help me out with a trial pair. I am absolutely blind without my contacts and they really saved the day. My wife and son went to get their yearly eye exam and had a sub-par experience. They said they felt like a number and the staff was not really friendly. They also said it took about an hour and a half to complete their visit. I decided to try it anyway since we are looking for a new optometrist and we recently moved to Carson City from Reno. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was pleasant and greeted me. Once they took me back to examine my eyes the first time no one told me what their name was, or what they were going to do. They passed me between two people and repeated some of the steps they already had me go through. They seated me in another room to see the doctor and asked if I wanted glasses or contacts. I was contemplating contacts and I was informed that there would be a $50 contact exam fee. I decided to go with the contacts. After the exam, they never mentioned that the $50 contact fitting fee had gone up or why it would go up. I have insurance so I was aware that maybe I would have to pay a copay or something before I left. I was kind of shocked that I owed $125. I asked the front desk staff if that $125 included the $50 contact fitting fee with my regular charges and she said yes. I paid the bill and went back to work. My wife asked why they charged so much because my visit was supposed to be at no charge. My wife called the office and asked why I was charged the $125. They said that it was the contact fitting fee and that I was told that it started at $50. My wife was treated poorly on the phone when she asked why I was never notified when I was talking with the assistant and the Dr. in the exam room. I was never told that the fitting fee went up. I feel as like they were afraid to tell me what the real price was. They never justified why my fitting fee would go from $50 to $125. This experience was awful and I will not go back. I was going to purchase my contacts with them, but not now. read more

I bought two pairs of glasses at this business after being a customer for for over 15 years. When they came in I put them on and told the lady they were way too strong that I could not even read my phone. She told me that the dr wanted me to try them for two weeks to get used to them. I blindly walked to my car and walked right back in and told them I could not read my speedometer or anything. Again, was told to give it two weeks. I could not... I called made the appt to come back In to fix them, check-in, waited in the waiting room for over an hour when I finally got back up to the front desk and she said they marked me as a no-show??? I was then upset told them to re-schedule and I left. I called for my next appt because my mom passed. So when I did come back in for the next appt they told me too much time had passed and I was stuck with two pairs of glasses that will never work for my vision! When I explained this whole situation the owner was so rude, said she has lost her sister and still makes it to work! The manger would not do anything to compensate, I just wanted my old prescription in my new glasses. After so many years, and bringing my children there while they grew up... I would never walk in again!!! How convenient... now you do not have my records of being a patient after that many years? Nor can't remember that conversation? I meant to leave a review earlier but have not been on Yelp! Every time I drive and can't see I think of your business, so it never too late to leave a review and warn others. If you read my complete review then your office did not take very good notes, I came in three times to rectify the situation, once the day you gave them to me and then I walked back in after going to my car( so technically tried twice that day), then made an appt three weeks later you forgot about me in your crowded waiting room, the third time was some time later.
