I'm so back baby. This was Very cute and homey. I think it's a traditional safe breakfast spot . I would definitely return here again for something more savory to try. It's not terribly expensive and you can get individual things such as eggs or toast on the side so its customizable. service was nice even though it was busy and food did not take terribly long. It can feel a little crammed and you probably want to get there earlier than later in the morning. After we left there was a line out the door! read more

Great breakfast! Food was great and you get lots of it - I only ate about 2/3's - ordered a vegetarian skillet with scrambled eggs - wife had French Toast and reported it was good. Prices while on the high side are about what you'd expect in Munising, where everything seems to be expensive. read more

Omelette we had was very disappointing, it was over cooked and was not "stuffed". It was just about 5 tiny pieces of ham and a bit of cheese mixed in with scrambled egg and cooked flat. For the price we expected a lot more. The apple waffle, however was very good. Southern style cooked apples had great flavor and it was a generous portion of fruit. Coffee was $4.50 a cup...again a bit over the top for a regular cup of coffee. read more

Wife and I in town for a little getaway. Found this delightful place while driving around Munising. While the prices reflect the current state of the world, the atmosphere and food were top notch. We were taken care of by Layla and she did an outstanding as our server. The food was fresh and the sour dough to die for. read more

We stopped in after our Pictured Rocks Cruise. We arrived around 12:30 and our party of 5 was seated right away. The service was very prompt. The food came out quickly and tasted really fresh. We ordered two different skillets (Yooper on a Hot Tin Roof and North Light), the caramel apple waffle, chocolate chip pancakes, cinnamon roll, and sides of bacon and sausage. The food was excellent overall. My husband said the caramel apple waffle was the best waffle he's ever had! The sausage was just ok, but the back had great flavor. Both skillets were really flavorful and filling with lots of veggies and meat mixed in with the hash browns. The chocolate chip pancakes were super fluffy with a crispy edge. The coffee was also excellent and refilled often by our server. The prices were a little high, but reasonable for the quality of the food. Nice stop in Munising! read more

We had the senior Earls wet chorizo breakfast burrito and the caramel apple waffle and holy cow!!!!! Such good food! We both fell into a food coma after woofing both dishes down. The food and service were good after waiting on an available table for 15 minutes. However, the portions were small compared to the price and the coffee definitely did not rate $4.50/cup. I'm sure the crowds of newcomers will continue but we'll choose another more reasonable location for our next breakfast when in this area. read more

Wow! We stayed at a near by Airbnb for a weekend stay. Went to breakfast here both mornings. My boyfriend got the Chapel Loop Cheesesteak omelette both days and I got the Breakfast #2 and the same omelette. The pancakes are so fluffy and amazing. The cinnamon rolls are also great. Plenty of food and kept us full for our hikes. We sat at a booth and at the bar and both servers we had were quick and attentive. It is a smaller place but they have covered outside seating that looked great. I would highly recommend stopping here if you are in town! read more

The food here was fairly good the first time we went. Breakfast food is hard to mess up if you have even a little kitchen skills. The prices however are through the roof. $48 for breakfast for two people with tip is ludicrous. More Munising price gouging. The second time we went. Both sets of pancakes we had were really burnt. Should not have served them to us. Mine more so. We were rushing to do stuff for the day and it took forever to get the food in the first place after waiting 30 minutes to be seated. I just ate them. The one guy seating people smelled horribly of body odor. Nice guy...but it was offensive. Needs to be addressed. A tip for management here. Tell your servers to drop off the bill when the food arrives and tell the customer no rush, just leaving here for when you are ready. You will have people paying much faster and turning more orders over quicker. Saw many people sitting waiting for a check while people were simultaneously clogging up the door way waiting to get in. Also get more tables that are 4 and 2 seaters. Allows you to push together for parties of 6 or space out separate parties of 4 and 2. And people waiting in line was not indicative of how amazing this place was. There literally were no other breakfast places in town and it's small and badly managed. If someone wanted to make a killing and bought a bigger place next door with more seating, hired some good cooks and had management skills...this place would take a massive hit. read more

Nice interior and great server. She caught my request of no onion before bringing the food to our table and asked cook to make a new one. My son ordered chicken fingers with fries. I stole one from his plate and tasted old oil. My husband's omelet was ok but nothing was remarkable. Another son ordered skillets and he liked it. Coffee was medium roast and sadly tasted worse than Forger's. They charged "transaction fee" without any explanation. Our feeling about this fee was reflected upon our tip. read more

The food was very good... chicken fried steak, cudighi, Log Slide, and cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was good, but nothing outstanding. The cfs was very good with crisp hash browns. The Log Slide was like a scramble and was worth 4 stars. We happened to come at 11:00 when the place was slammed with customers, so we had to sit outside and wait about an hour for us to get our food. It seems to be a popular place and the service was good, even though they were overwhelmed. This restaurant was close to the dock for boat cruises to Painted Rock National Shoreline, so that may have contributed to the crowd. We were part of the group that decided to eat brunch before the cruise. read more

While staying within walking distance of this place, we grabbed some breakfast before heading home on a Sunday morning. Rachel was our server and she was absolutely the best server we've encountered anywhere. Rachel was super friendly, she gave clear expectations and updates on our orders and made us feel really welcomed and appreciated. She was just truly a gem. I would recommend the corned beef hash skillet as it had tender pieces of beef throughout and the portion size was good. Poached eggs were an option and they were done to perfection. We would absolutely visit again the next time we're in Munising. read more

These three things you have to know! 1. Get here we'll before 9 am. After that the line goes out the door the whole morning, and that's on a Thursday! 2. Order anything, it's exceptionally good, but please order the French Toast with cinnamon. It is so good, so light, so heavenly, that it floats an inch off the plate! 3. Was looking for a place to eat and happened across this place. Very small on the inside, but the atmosphere was great. It was very busy for a late Wednesday morning and the 2 servers running the floor were doing so great! I'm sure some people were getting impatient, but I was happy to sit and enjoy the company I was with. We got the legendary breakfast and the log slide skillet... everything was absolutely delicious. I'm also perplexed why they're using plastic flatware and plastic containers for side dishes like cole slaw. This made sense during the pandemic but not now. The next morning, I went searching for some good coffee and came across Rustic Grounds Coffee Trailer. As I looked over the menu, I saw a variety of great options and asked if I could make a small tweak to one of their specialty lattes -- no hesitation, no problem, they made it happen! When I took that first sip... wow. Smooth, balanced, and genuinely one of the best lattes I've had. I've traveled all over the world, and this little coffee trailer easily holds its own among my favorite stops. Top 10? Maybe not, but definitely my top favorite in the UP! (I'm originally from the UP, born and raised in.) While enjoying my drink, I noticed the cup had the outline of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with the words "Fueled by Jesus & Coffee." That made me smile. Then I saw the T-shirts hanging on a wall by the side of the trailer featuring Bible verses and faith-inspired designs -- such a great touch! This place is more than just a coffee stop; it's a reflection of love, faith, and community. If you're ever in Munising and want amazing coffee while supporting a small, family-owned, Christian business -- Rustic Grounds is absolutely the place to go. We got an Oatmeal Cookie Latte which was so delicious and sweet and cinnamony and my boyfriend got a Backwoods Bootlegger which was surprisingly bourbony. Not my kind of thing but if you're into a less sweet drink I would recommend it, he really liked it! We also each got breakfast pies which were also really yummy and filling. They have Cholula hot sauce at the bar with the sugar and cream if that's your thing (it is mine!). Super cute spot with some nice outdoor seating. Service was kind and fast.
