It was a cool summer day in Jasper. What did mark twain say about San Francisco. Well ditto for Jasper! That's why I wanted soup and their chicken noodle soup did not disappoint. Salad was a basic lettuce salad with a few croutons and some radishes but I really liked the Parmesan vinaigrette, as well as the olive oil drizzled sourdough bread. Service was great and they let us bring our dog in the dining room instead of going outside where it's in the 50's maybe.

After a long hike in the rain we were ready for a tasty meal with drinks! Since this place had great reviews we took a chance and wern't disappointed. I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.

Great food, great service, good time! Only issue is that the prawn appetizer seemed a bit steep for 4 prawns. Josh at the bar was awesome!

Very nice restaurant with "American" fare (labeled Canadian since we are in Canada ). The menu is extensive with varied cuisine. I ordered lump crab cakes. They were excellent. Lots of crab and just the right amount of fillers. The salad was fresh with light dressing. The music was very good (well my kind of music ). Highlight for me was the decadent sticky toffee chocolate pudding. Very rich and yummy. Chelsea, our hostess, provided very attentive service. It was a wonderful experience

We ordered the mushroom pizza and spicy tuna tacos as appetizers and a few different entrees and everything was PHENOMENAL! The tastes were unique, refreshing, portions were perfect, and it was a great dining experience. The staff were super friendly and provided great suggestions on things to do around Jasper. The decor inside was clean and modern and music was catchy and fun. Outdoor seating was shaded and the views weren't the best mainly because you essentially look out onto rooftops, but overall highly recommend :)

Amazing food - clearly the best we had in Jasper. So much variety! They had everything from Pasta to Kung Pao to Chicken Biryani and quite a few plant based options for vegans! The complimentary garlic bread was pretty good as well. Everything we had was excellent in quality and tasted freshly prepared. Their Truffle Tortellini and Passionfruit chili margarita are not to be missed!! Definitely a meal to remember. I am surely going to check out their other locations in the US!

Nice relaxed place. The wood fired mushroom kale pizza was just perfect! Crab cakes were delicious , a bit loaded with veggies and stuff , but the crab flavors did come through. Good sticky toffee pudding was a neat finish to a lovely easy paced dinner .

Good food and nice view. I can die now

First time visiting Earl's and Jasper. We sat outside. It was 14°C but the heater worked very well. Actually got too hot for my hubby. Music inside was a little loud so we chose to sit outside, which was much nicer! We loved everything we ordered! Really happy with the garlic prawn pasta, Blue Hawaiian, New England Clam Chowder and the tuna poke bowl. Food was fresh, nicely seasoned. The chowder was made with real clams (with a tiny bit of sand, but we didn't mind). Our waiter Jay was very nice, friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again. Such a nice experience. Can't imagine how busy the place is in the summer. Glad we came during off season.

Always delivers. With the bad taste I had after dropping by Montana's, Earls was refreshing. Similar quality of service to Earls in Toronto.

Surprisingly delicious given the variety in cuisines. The margaritas, the tacos and the eggs Florentine were all delicious.

The Whisky Jack Grill Jasper, Alberta Canada July 2026 I…read morewas in Jasper for two days, on a train vacation that got me out of the District for the semi quincentennial. On Amtrak the trip began in Washington, D.C., through Chicago, then Seattle, then Jasper. Amtrak got me to Seattle seamlessly; and VIA Rail Canada got me from Seattle to Jasper, just as painlessly. Really good planning by my Amtrak Vacations representative, Kevin Guadagnoli, who was working through Railbookers. During the time I had in Jasper, I had the chance to breathe, to observe, to inhale, and to enjoy. Jasper provided all of this, and The Whisky Jack Grill was a major part of the benefits of this trip. I was at the Grill in mid-afternoon, and Tereza was there with no wait and a menu, and a helpful attitude. I settled in with no prior knowledge of what the venue had to offer. Great start: the menu included a beef goulash (spicy smoked paprika beef, potato and onion with a fresh oven-baked baguette, $22) that I was sorely tempted to order, and a competitor - beef Stroganoff (served with linguine past, topped with sour cream and pickles, $34). But I was looking for a lighter option and found it with an appetizer: sticky-finger black pepper tofu! Peppercorn, honey-molasses, butter glazed tempura-fried tofu, served with a delicious Asian slaw ($22). That plus a 4 p.m. double gin and tonic ($12) brought the bill for my late lunch to $35.70 plus a $5 CAD tip. Really impressive service, excellent food, and reasonably priced. Conversation friendly, spacious, and relaxing. I doubt I'll have the chance to return to Jasper (I'm 70 and live in D.C. and my traveling days may be numbered) but if the four winds bring me back, I'll save space for The Whisky Jack Grill. (And I don't mean to be a pest, but according to the venue, there is no "e" in Whisky". Just saying, because that's what's on the postcard they left with my tab.)

The beef stroganoff special also looked delicious. Service was friendly, and the views of the mountains from inside the restaurant were beautiful! They also had a great local beer selection. We grabbed the blueberry pie to go, and it came with ice cream, so good. We would definitely come back during a future stay in Jasper!

Tried the: Potato Gratin: 9/10, really grainy but could tell they used a lot of real cheese. Potato was perfectly cooked and I loved that there was lots of sauce. Very pretty presentation. Orange chicken: 8.5/10, chicken as super tasty but just too much ginger for me in the sauce. Rice was very very bland. Spiralized diakon/parsnip was a great light vegetable that Looked like raw onion but thankfully wasn't. Loved it. Drink, The Opener: 10/10. Size appears small but by the end of it I was done with it. Wow taste though. Boyfriend said you can taste the rum but I got more banana and minty. 100% would get again. Got pretty strong by the end but really liked the flavor combo And the color.

The ambiance was nicer than expected given the name, it was comfortable and modern but lacked any charm. The drinks were a highlight, we all enjoyed our cocktails and mocktails. The server was also very attentive and communicative. The only item we really enjoyed was the goat cheese poutine. That was delicious. The entrees were boring. Two of my party got the blackened salmon special with rice, vegetables and curry aioli. They expected a flavorful experience but got white rice, steamed vegetables and barely seasoned salmon with a small side of flavored mayo. It was cooked well but just not very tasty. I got one of the staff favorites, the bison meatloaf, which was also pretty bland. The meals were served like a convention center banquet meal instead of saucy, flavorful and fun.
