Google Maps will show this location being located in the depot building itself, and the parking for this new shopping center (?) does run along the side and behind it. Earth & Sky Chocolates is actually in one of the converted train cars. They don't have a hanging sign, just one posted on the nearby pillar, so it's not immediately obvious which car they're in. If you're coming from the "front" of the station (where the depot is), it'll be the last car on the left. This is actually their second location, with their main shop in downtown Napa. They also have a website where you can purchase VEGAN and non-vegan boxes or even subscribe to a monthly box. Calistoga Depot is a recently opened market(?) along their main street (Lincoln Ave) repurposing the second-oldest train depot and train station in California. All the train cars had their interiors redone and are so worth the visit, every one of them seems to have a unique aesthetic. Be aware that each car is an individual shop. We had thought that everything was closed because of the tinted windows, not-quite-open businesses in some cars, and very few people at the time. But Earth & Sky Chocolates WAS open, and we got some great treats from there. Bonbons, brittles, little caramels, and (most importantly) HANDMADE MARSHMALLOWS! My friends and I each tried a passionfruit mango caramel and were shocked at how much it REALLY tasted like passionfruit, which made the caramel very light. Main thing for me is that this was all very pricey. Definitely more of a special occasion kind of thing. But with the local Calistoga Depot Distillery next door and the wineries down the street, they're also a convenient stop if you're looking to do wine-chocolate tastings. read more

Wow! The attention to detail on these little chocolates was outstanding! The colors just popped on all of them. Usually when food looks so beautiful the taste can't compete. Not with these! I was shocked, no words to describe how delectable and flavor filled. Along with being so captivating. I was torn between eating them or just admiring their beauty. While in town with friends, we happened upon this lovely chocolate/wine shop on First Ave in downtown Napa. Attractive, delicate, abstract colored bite sized chocolates almost too pretty to eat were shockingly delicious! Great balance of a thin chocolate casing and gentle bright flavors. We ended up visiting again prior to our flight so we could pack a 16pc mixed box to take home. I am a true chocolate lover (my grandfather invented confections automation for a major chocolate retailer in the 1920's, married my grandmother, who was the forewoman on the factory floor, and my Mom was allowed to fill a paper bag with chocolate when she visited them at work!) I like to think that chocolate is in my blood. With as much as I've tried I'm pretty sure that's the case. That said earth and sky is amazing. I'm also an artist and each chocolate is like a beautiful painting. I got my first box of earth and sky bonbons when I stayed at the Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa. Thank God they sell boxes in their gift shop or I might never have learned about this unique company. If you love hand-crafted items and a little luxury to share, I strongly encourage a visit when in Calistoga. Do check the hours! They aren't consistent throughout the week. read more

She did a walk through of how she makes the truffles and talked about how she got into business. Then we did a taste test and simply OMG. We hired Earth and Sky to make chocolates for our wedding guests as favors. They were gorgeous and so delicious! Robbie, the owner, could not have been more accommodating and offered to customize any flavors and colors. She even gave us a lower price than what other chocolate shops in the area were charging. Oh and she hand wrote the names of our guests in her beautiful script on each little box of truffles. I recommend trying the PB&J and the cardamom! This place rocks! read more

Earth&Sky Chocolates is otherworldly. Think of UT-Austin's Stardate with Sandy Wood discussing the enigmas of the universe, and this chocolatier fits the bill. It's not the typical candy store. It's very hipster, in a rustic, "recycled" train car. There are terrariums with cacti as adornment. One can literally see the chocolate factory (no need for a golden ticket) The owner, Laura, is very friendly&gives local discounts. Are the prices kind of steep for a piece of chocolate? Depends, but they're worth the price. I tried the raspberry rose. The raspberry flavor is assertive, while the rose is a more subtle aftertaste. The chocolates are picture perfect, Instagram-worthy. Pros- Great service. Clean, pleasant (albeit somewhat sterile) decor. Chocolates are excellent, justifying the price. Cons- Sometimes the store will be closed due to catering events. The chocolates can be slim pickings. The bourbon ones were unavailable. Really depends on the day. Great addition to the Calistoga depot. read more

It's a small shop at the train depot. I had to walk all the way back passing by empty trains but it was worth the visit. The husband and wife chocolatier are on site. They make their creations there. Laura, one of the owners, was friendly and explained how each bonbon was created. It comes out to $2 each bonbon and have different flavors. Look for a bag of their imperfections.
