The first time we went to get our 20 lb dog a nail trim it was quick and hassle-free as we walked in, got the service, and paid/walked out in less than 10 minutes. They stated that they accept walk-ins, so I was really excited because they are really close to our home location. Unfortunately, the past 5 times we have tried to "walk-in" we have been turned away because "the groomers left early", or that we needed to call in advance to make sure the groomers were in or available. We've been told to not come before 11 by an employee and another employee said to come in before 11. A bunch of mess. This does not match up with being labeled as a "walk-in" service if I'm just going to walk in and walk right back out without being provided the service. This place needs to get a system to schedule nail trim appointments because walk-ins are not really a thing here. We were really looking forward to getting services done here, but now we are looking elsewhere as the groomers/team that work here don't seem to know any type of scheduling or when they will be available for a literal 2-5 minute nail trim. read more

I received a coupon in the mail for a free nail clipping and self wash that expired on Dec 9th and I LOST the coupon. With a new pet anything free is a true gift, so I was freaking out trying to find the coupon. I finally found it AFTER the coupon expired so I called up EarthWise and they were supppeer nice about it and allowed me to use the coupon two days after it expired. I called again on Monday to make sure I could still use the coupon and they already had my name down and remembered! Just coming into the shop I felt very welcomed by the lady at the front desk, and was kindly greeted by the resident dogs. The nail clipping was so quick and she offered for me to watch so that I could learn. She was so gentle with my kitten and knew exactly what to do! She was so personable, I even got to see some pictures of her lovely cats! Afterwards, she walked with me around the store and I picked out a toy for my kitten and got some food samples. I was going to tip her, but she refused and said that the clipping was completely free with the coupon. I am writing this in hopes that no one else will go through what I went through at Earthwise Pet Supply and Grooming-Richardson yesterday. My experience there was terrible and I will never bring my dogs to Earthwise again. Reasons I will never go back- they are not good with anxious dogs and will not work with them; grooming environment is full of dogs/not clean; they charge a lot (everything is added separately); they don't communicate with the owners when something extra needs to be done; they are rude and unprofessional. I was under the impression that they were good with anxious dogs. In fact, I had read several positive reviews which led me to schedule this appointment. One of my dogs, KC, does have anxiety when in a new environment. He is usually anxious at first but once he becomes acclimated to the environment, he tends to calm down quickly. Both my dogs are Golden Retrievers- naturally large, but not aggressive at all. I made a point to let Chelsea (the groomer) know about KC's anxiety. Chelsea took KC in and I followed with Molly, my other pup. I was appalled at the grooming environment- There were at least 10 dogs running around in a small room, there was poop on the floor, hair everywhere (of course) and KC was met by a dog at the doorway that was "being aggressive". Chelsea had to yell out for help when bringing KC in so the other groomer could hold the other dog back. I was hesitant to leave him but thought he would calm down if I was out of his sight. I left. I was called 1 hour later by the receptionist who said that they will be charging me a behavioral fee for KC and that his fur was matted so that would be an extra charge on top of everything that was already discussed. KC has never had any trouble with the groomers. I asked to speak with the groomer directly. Chelsea called me about 20 minutes later. She was extremely rude on the phone. She said my dog was anxious and it was difficult for her to groom which is why I have to pay a behavioral fee because it took her more time. Was he being aggressive with the other dogs? I asked how he was acting now and she said he's calm and is fine. I asked what all she had done and she said she drummeled his nails and trimmed his face/feet and fanny, gave him a blow out (???) and since his fur was matted- she treated that. I then asked how much the behavioral fee was and she said "it's just $10. I already spoke with my manager and we will be charging that to your total bill." I said, "I will not be paying a behavioral fee for my poor dog who was anxious to begin with and is now doing fine. He was not being aggressive nor has this ever happened before." She then had the audacity to ask if he's EVER been to the groomers before. I said yes he has, many times in fact, and I don't think that's the issue; I saw how absolutely chaotic your place was. I will be picking up my dog." She then said rudely- well, you still must pay for the services I've already provided. You've already agreed to the terms." I said, that's fine. I'd like to speak to a manager please. She said, our manager will be in in an hour, I will give them your information and have them call you. Obviously, no one called me. Since my dog was there already and I couldn't get away to pick him up, I had her finish the groom. The bath, plus trim (face, feet and fanny), nails and all the other added fees (de-shedding, matting, and behavior) totaled to almost $160. This is the MOST expensive bath with trim my dogs have ever gotten. Not to mention- my other dog was there for 5 hours and wasn't even groomed. Apparently, the other groomer (for Molly) had booked with another dog right away when she heard I was unhappy with the service KC was provided. What an absolute waste of time! When I came into the store to pay and to pick up my dogs, all I could hear was her yelling at him through the door. So, please, save yourself the hassle, the money and go someplace else where they actually care about your dog. read more

EarthWise exceeded our expectations! We were greeted by everyone as soon as we walked through the doors. They were super friendly to us and our shepard Ginger! They made her feel comfortable and at ease. Our groomer Nina came out and met Ginger and introduced herself for a little bit before taking Ginger into the back. Ripped me off! Increased the price 27% from their advertised rate at checkout. The first time using the self-wash for my two Siberian Huskies was great! I was the only one using the facilities and the clerk was very nice and friendly. Took me the usual two hours to wash and blow dry both dogs. Nice service for $15 per dog. The second time was Sunday Feb 26. I arrived at their 12:00 noon opening. I finished both dogs, cleaned out the tub, and went to the checkout at 2:00 PM. During my 2 hours, two other clients used the second wash station for one dog each clocking in at an hour per dog. When I checked out, the clerk said she had to charge me an extra $8 because "four people were waiting." Absolutely ridiculous! A 27% surcharge because other people who came in after me were waiting while the people with the two other dogs at the second station each took the same time (an hour per dog). Pure theft. I will never go back to this or any other EarthWise. read more

This was the worst experience of a groomer I have ever had I brought my Chihuahua in to have her nails done and she came out looking terrible she had a little piece of the carpet suck on her nail. I asked the lady that took her to have that cut off I pick her up and take her to the car and it's still hanging on her nail what groomer would see that and not automatically take that off I spent $29 in that store 20 of it was for just doing her nails and nine was for treats .So I go back in and tell the nice lady's and when they took her back to the groomer I listen to the groomer talking to the lady that brought her back and she was so rude talking ugly about my dog she said well there's nothing I can do and she peed all over the place and she's very anxious she better be lucky she didn't get bit !!! My dog is the best nature dog she must have felt very uncomfortable!!! Long story short: do NOT leave your pet here. They do not care about you or your dog. I arrived early to get my dog groomed. I decided upon this place based off of the yelp reviews. The owner got out of her BMW, saw me waiting for the store to open, and opened the store. I got there at 8:45am, she opened the store at 8:55am for 9am opening. She did not greet me. From there, I told her I had previous poor experiences with groomers and shared with them this was my first time using their services and first time to the store. She shared with me my groomer was running late. 20 minutes later, my groomer STILL was late and at that time I was informed that she didn't know when the store opened (9am) and would be here as fast as she could. At this point, I'm frustrated that an employee doesn't know when the store opens and I'm about to leave my dog with them? I had asked how far she lived (to estimate time) and they said "oh I think close" and then how long she had been grooming and got "many many years." Sounds legit. Not. All I got was an "I'm sorry this is your first experience with us" AND SHE WALKED OFF. I voiced I was frustrated and didn't get anything in return. So I walked out the door, not comfortable leaving my sweet pup with them. Clearly this pet store just wants your money and doesn't give a flying flip about your animal and how to make you comfortable leaving them. I took my dog and walked out. I have known about this place for some time just never went in. I had a free self wash (eventhought I find it crazy to pay to wash your own dog) through the fivestars reward program. I decided to go in and see what it was all about. I always take my dog with me where I can especially any pet stores. I took her in and was immediately greeted by an unleashed dog. I think this dog is the owners. There were 3 employees there all very helpful. The store is quite small so you want have to go through endless options but are also limited on options compared to the traditional pet store. The first lady helped introduce me to the self wash and helped some maintain my crazy dog that hates baths and tried to run off multiple times. I got some samples from there to help decide if I want to change foods since it is something I have been considering. They answered all my questions and were patient and knowledgeable. The brands they carry don't have recalls often but if they do they would contact you about the recall. My dog loved this place from the moment we parked until the time we left with a chew in mouth. Avoid grooming services - I have a small, cooperative dog, and brought him in for grooming. The groomer clipped his dewclaw, which needed to be amputated, and didn't trim his face - but did hack off all his whiskers. His coat is completely uneven, and he needed two visits to the vet - one for the initial removal and bandaging his dewclaw, and another to check that there was no infection. He also had to spend two days with his head in a cone. Staff are rude and unapologetic - even though I left with my dog bleeding. read more

New to the area and wanted to find a groomer closer to home than our old groomer. Based on reviews and location gave earthwise a try for our two dogs. Scheduling was quick and easy over the phone. Got them in that weekend. Staff was friendly and professional and are obviously dog people. Pricing was very reasonable. Dogs were done as promised and looked and smelled great. Things have changed. I've been taking my dog here for 3 years. In the beginning, it was fine. Now, there's new management (I think) and the customer experience is sub par; it seems like they're having trouble retaining good groomers and even though I make an appointment, my dog (17 lbs..basic cut) is always there for SEVERAL hours. I took my dog in April 2019 for his normal grooming appt. When I picked him up(after he'd been there for several hours because "they were running a little behind"), I almost didn't recognize him. The cut LITERALLY looked like a child cut it. It looked choppy and was uneven. The groomer saw my shock when I looked at my dog and told me she decided to cut his ears short and "hope it's ok". To which I replied, "absolutely NOT ok...aren't there notes because I'm always asked when i drop him off". She apologized and since there was nothing I could do expect pay the full groom price for an awful groom, I asked that there are clear notes in the system for next time. I was willing to give another chance. A few weeks ago, I called to make another appt and was told they were booked solid for the next week. Today, I called and was told the next appt was a week away because of the holiday next week. When I asked who the groomer would be, I was told it would be the same person as last time. I asked for a different groomer and was told it would be after the holiday (2 weeks). I politely said, "oh wow, I will need to find a different place to groom him". The person said, "ok, no problem", and hung up. So now, I'm looking for a new groomer... read more

Took my Giant Schnauzer there to do a self wash and met some of the employees. They were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was not happy with the current cut on my dog and Amber said she was familiar with clipping schnauzers and she could fix the cut. I made an appointment for the next week. She did an amazing job on my dog and he looks great! They had him ready in 2 1/2 hours. When I picked him up he was very happy! The price was excellent for the service. I definitely would NOT recommend this place! I made an appointment 9 days in advance to have both of my yorkies groomed. I emailed the medical records to them the same day I made the appointment. I arrived to my appointment and as I am filling out additional paperwork, they inform that they cannot accept them for grooming because the just noticed that their rabies shots expired (July 7th and August 17th, 2021). I asked what was the purpose of sending in medical records in advance per their request, if no one is going to look at them until the morning of!? I spoke to the manager later that day and explained my frustration because had I known that prior to the morning of the appointment, they could have gotten their shots or etc., within the timeframe of me making the appointment. Not to add, I had taken time away from my business to make a blank trip! So, the manager called and offered a 20% discount towards grooming. I bring the dogs back the next week for grooming and OMG! The groomer shaved them almost bald! I went over with her what I wanted, we talked about each of their hair textures, etc. On top of that, the groomer writes me a note to tell me that she had to charge a behavioral fee because they were hard to deal with....THIS IS THEIR FIRST TIME BEING GROOMED AT THIS PLACE! We love the store! Tracie and Shelby are wonderful. My dog gets excited every time we pull up. Shelby also does incredible grooming work. The prices are very reasonable too. I'm so happy that I found this place and that it is near my house. They did a great job on both my dog and my mom's dog. My dog is a border collie mix and has longer hair. I got her groomed, de-shedded, trimmed, and her nails clipped. They did a great job on everything. She smells wonderful and is super soft now. My mom's dog was there a week ago and she still smells great too! Will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great groomer. -Plus they know a ton of stuff on anything dog related.
