The people were so nice here. I told them my parents own a winery called Coal Creek Cellars and they were kind enough to wave the $5 tasting charge. I didn't ask for that or expect it when I told them. One of the workers there said she remembered them as some wine event they attended. The? was so nice we chit-chatted for quite a while. All the employees were very nice there. I didn't take the tour, but I got some pretty good pictures of their back room. They had a lot of cool little souvenirs and trinkets. I got a rubber bottle cork shaped like a wine glass and a pink bottle that lights up. The prices on the very fare. I also bought two bottles of the driest red wines they had. I prefer dry wines. Their wines were good, but most of them were a little sweet for my taste. The décor was quaint and both the interior and exterior of the building were clean. I will definitely go again if I am in Indianapolis. read more

My family and I came to Easley on Saturday for their weekly Groovin' in the Garden afternoon. This consists of live music outside in their parking lot garden. I had a lot of fun and was pleasantly surprised by their wine. I'm by no means a wine connoisseur, but I tried several of their red and white wines and I enjoyed both of them. I also bought a block of their habenero cheese - wooooey! That stuff is spicy -- but good! The Groovin' in the Gardens is a fun way to experience Easley. There are several tables and chair under umbrellas, but you can also bring your own chairs as well. You're welcome to bring in your own food and just enjoy your afternoon. I'd definitely go back for another afternoon! read more

Easley Winery is one of the best wineries on the Indy wine trail. They're more of a complete package than some of the others. Located in downtown Indianapolis, Easley has arguably the best location of any Indy wine trail location. They offer a tour of their winemaking process which is fun and enlightening. They have a tasting bar for a pretty reasonable fee. They also have a great patio (live music on weekends often), banquet rooms for events, and a winemaking supply store. The selection of wines available at Easley does run the gammet from sweet and fruity to dry and oaky. However, they do tend to slant more toward the sweet and fruity end. The winemaking supply store is a great touch and allows home winemakers to learn from the pros and get suggestions before they invest in expensive winemaking products. read more

My boyfriend and I had such a great time here. We went in for a wine tasting and tour. The wine was perfect and we learned a lot on our tour! After the wine tasting you can purchase a glass of wine for a moderate price and then before you leave you can turn in your used glass for a wine glass to take home with you (you can choose between Reggae or Easley Winery labels). I'm not really sure why there are so many great reviews for this winery.... To start off, the smell when coming in was strange. Definitely smelled like bad BO, but it was everywhere. We came in early on a Saturday and just wanted to do a tasting. The price was great, it was $5 for 7 tastings and their tastings were a big portion so kudos! However, I wasn't fond of any of the wines and I like wine, A LOT! It was either way too sweet or not dry enough for my liking. They also took us to the wrong bar so then we had to go to the other one which was were we started to begin with. I didn't like the feel of the environment either, it looked very outdated, but maybe that's the style they were going for. This is the fist winery in Indianapolis I've been too and am disappointed. I hear a lot of great things for the summer time so I'll give it another chance. read more

I am not a big wine fan but i wandered in here when i decided to do tours in Indy for breweries. This place too like others has a free tour. However, you pay $5 for tastings of 6 different wines and you get to choose between 14 of them. Not a bad deal. The winery itself is tiny and is surely family owned. The tour is informative and quick with a very attentive and cordial staff member. Then come the tastings. the tasting go from dry to sweet and there are some really good wines to be had. i was actually surprised by how good these wines were and how cheap they were too. After the tastings i got myself 3 bottles. 2 to gift and one for myself. This is a review on Easley winery's booth at the Windy City wine festival, not the actual winery in Indianapolis. The festival was awesome and everyone there was super friendly and helpful except one booth: Easley Winery. I saved my last ticket of the day for Raggae Red. I actually went through the line twice, once with my boyfriend, who was really put off by how unfriendly the rep was, then again by myself. I didn't get a sample for myself the first time, showing the rep I was taking my time with my previous sample from another booth. The second time I went in line alone and the rep was even more unpleasant to me. I've been to Easley's booth at every wine festival I've ever seen them at and recommended others go as well and even purchased the wine on my own. This lady was so bitter and unfriendly that I would never recommend this winery again. If she is any reflection on the brand as a whole, I would recommend steering clear of the winery!! read more

This place probably ranks as my favorite winery (so far). For $5 you get to taste 7 different wines (technically 14 if you share with someone else). I would say about half of the wines are sweet, half are not. I ended up loving a few of the wines so much that I bought bottles to take home. The staff was so friendly - they will let you taste anything, give you information, etc. They also have a bunch of wine accessories that you can buy. They have a nice patio outside that has live music on Saturday afternoons. Get there early to get a table/seats because it fills up fast! They have some cheese and crackers inside that you can buy, but I saw many people bring their own. They are also good about providing enough parking (their main lot is small and gets crowded). You really can't find a Winery in the heart of a city too often. Indy has one, and it's a good one. You have probably had their wine and had no idea they were in brown building off College. They offer some fun outdoor activities like Groovin' in the Garden. It's a small place but just right for a fun date night. Inside, you can buy all of their wines and have a tasting. The tasting is wonderful. The staff are fun to talk to and know everything you need to know about wine. They make the experience unique every time. There isn't a "tasting room" per se, but you can sit at the bar, taste a few great wines, then buy a bottle and sit down at a table in the next room. They don' have the vineyard out back for you to stare at, so be aware of where you are. They offer Indiana wine at its finest, sweet. Some would say too sweet, but really it's a choice. They have dry wines, for sure, but their sweet wines are truly sweet. I like that, but it's not every one's cup of tea. I'm not an avid wine enthusiast, but they get my mark of approval. My favorite is their Honey Wine or the Sweet Red. The Reggae brand is also them, so you may know them for that. You won't be disappointed, give them a try! read more

I visited Easley Winery this past Sunday for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Having formerly been a card-carrying wine club member of Cooper's Hawk near Carmel, I wasn't sure what to expect. First off, the atmosphere is extremely laid back and welcoming. The location is convenient, too, since it's located in downtown Indianapolis. The sommelier, Annmarie, was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information regarding the grapes and where they come from, etc. Out of the 8 selections that I tasted that day, I did not meet even one wine that I didn't like. I couldn't leave without purchasing two bottles of the Kauffmann's 76. It was delicious, has 10% alc, and was reasonably priced! That's my kind of wine! On a winery tour and I loved Larry! He was our tour guide. We got some history of the winery and learned a few new tidbits before we tasted the wines. I liked that they gave us two options and we had to pick one from each set. Larry was super helpful and very funny. Easley is within walking distance of my place so one day I decided to go get a bottle of wine before cooking dinner. I looked around for only a few moments before a very helpful staff member asked if he could help find a specific wine. I told him I was having pasta for dinner and he made a few recommendations. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I would really like to come back at some point and take a tour of the facility, but for now I know I have found a great local spot to get a good wine recommendation for dinner right in my neighborhood. A surprisingly good find locally. Highly recommend going through the wine tasting. The Cab is incredible. Yet they ran out of stock of all Cab. The majority of their wines do appear to be on the sweet side and not my thing. But get the Cab and a couple of the other dry red wines and they are good. While "I Think" is one of my favorites it is pricey. But if you want a good bottle of dry red it costs more. They do have some kind of outdoor event on Saturdays but we haven't been. We need to make time to go to that. My tip: Check out some of the local supermarkets as you can save a lot of money buying from the supermarket. But the Winery is open on Sundays and with the no alcohol sales in Indiana is the only way to get wine on a Sunday. read more

I have been here on several occasions, however this time I was "wowed." The man working was very knowledgable and helped my through my tasting based upon me telling him what I preferred. Conincidentially, his and my tastes were almost identical he said. If I were to blink, I would pass it. I think the best part about this place is the people. The woman giving the wine tasting was so incredibly nice. We had a person with us who didn't really drink wine. She explained things to him and even gave him a few extra tastings. The tour was nice too. It was more industrial than many I have been on, so a nice change. The wines are sweet. Love this place! The Indy Downtown district and the old warehouse feel makes this a unique venue. The sweet wines are delicious! Our favorite is the Kauffman's 76. Make sure you see Mark when you visit. We have been here twice now and he puts the experience over the top! His knowledge on the history of the Easleys and the wines is an interesting addition. Full disclosure: this was my first winery visit- anywhere! I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Easley Winery. The $5 tastings were all delicious and gave me a great basic education on how to properly sip a glass. I am so proud of Indy's wine scene. My only caveat would be that there are no seats, or food available at the time of tasting. I left with 3 bottles more than I intended when I arrived, and am sorely missing their cranberry flavored wine right now! I will be back- hopefully at times when I can beat the inevitable crowds this summer. read more

Easley winery is a fantastic Indy winery downtown, and if you've never taken the time to visit, then what are you waiting for? Inexpensive tastings, with wine for all palates. They're well known for their sweet wines, but their No Opposition red blend is also delicious, and the cabernet is good as well. During the summer I've enjoyed live music outside for their Groovin in the Garden events on Saturday afternoons. I've gone for their fantastic 6 for $6 sale, enjoyed many tastings, and on and on. They do offer tours if you're interested, and the staff there are always friendly. I know I 'll continue to frequent Easley, and support this Indiana winery! read more

I really really like this place. I have been to tons of winery because wine is my favorite fruit. This place is doing it right. The wine tastings are set up in groups with up 8 (if I am remembering correctly) to a tasting at a time, if it is busy, you will get placed with people outside your group, Our host was personable and knowledge about the wines she was letting us taste. For your tasting, you work down a list picking from either the left or right. Personally I felt this made my selections easier, but the strictness of the selection may be a drawback for some. I enjoyed all the options, the strangest, different that other wines I have tried was the Margarita Wine. It tasted just like a margarita. During the tasting we were introduced to the Kauffman 76 wine. It's only sold at Easleys and in Evansville, indiana. It's our favorite wine. If sweet wine is your thing you must give it try. After calling to confirm the business was open (the business directories on those Nuvi's are notoriously unreliable) we arrived just after they opened on a beautiful fall Saturday. The staff was friendly and helpful, not at all snobby. We sampled a number of wines and ended up sharing a mix case with our friend Mark, who's quite the wine connoisseur. I liked the Merlot, but the Cabernet was our top choice, both about $15. They offer an exceptional 25% case discount, what a deal! I use to think it was cool to have this winery in a downtown environment because I love wineries and trying a few samples each time I come in to buy a few bottles was a plus. Even with no vineyard and a few rude employees once, we always tried to support the place. It's always fun to taste test some and to bring friends - mostly those from out of town to try some Indiana wines. we joined the club to get discounts and then they lost our card the next time I came in. That was just the start of the downhill spiral for me. After that, they raised the prices and I can usually find my favorite easley wines cheaper at Marsh. There was no reason to want to buy the wines at the winery but we continued to introduce new people to the area to the winery as a fun after work thing to do. Well last time we were there they slapped us with a charge to taste test. No other winery in the area does that! So much for that being one of their selling points to go to. We now can't honestly tell people a single fabulous reason to go there mostly since sun king has free samples of beer just across the street and they have a great fun inviting atmosphere, olivers, simmons, grape inspirations, all have free wine tastings still, and Marsh (and many liquor stores) sell Easley wines much cheaper! I had such an awesome time at Easley Winery! This was my first time going wine tasting and I will definitely be back. My friend and I came here last Friday around 1pm. There was only one couple inside doing a tasting and a lady buying wine bottles. We were greeted by a man at the wine tasting bar. I can't believe I don't remember his name. He was very knowledgeable and even gave us a few extra tasting. For $5 you get to try 7 different wines. They also give you a pack of oyster crackers to eat. They have other crackers and chocolate but they do cost. They give you a menu of wines and you just have to circle the ones you would like to taste. The prices of the bottles are under each one if you would like to purchase one. I was sad that the wine someone mention that has a peach flavoring was not on the list. I love peach flavored drinks. My friend and I decided to buy the Kauffman 76 to share. It really is as good as people say it is. It was $10 plus tax. I would like to come back one day for a tour. read more
