This place is really going downhill. I just went and it was bad y'all. First the person that greeted me rolled their eyes at me when I walked in. An Asian family walked in about 10 minutes after I was seated, and they got their food 20 minutes before I got mine. Meh, whatever. The nigiri was ok. The eel was a bit old, and had a pungent odor. The tako was still frozen, and I didn't eat more than a bite. Seemed very watery like they thawed it just enough to slice a lil, then prolly put it back in the freezer, as I'm sure it's not popular in this area. The tomago is a frozen premade, and is not great. This used to be our go to place for takeout. Food was always excellent and the notes left in the app for things like "spicy" on Pad Thai were pretty much always done. Lately, it's gone way down hill. A couple of months ago, their app began putting everything through Grubhub, resulting in any orders being the standard 10% or more above usual menu price (even takeout). The notes suddenly seemed to not be noticed. That said, their app was at least useful until the latest update. Tried to place an order last night for takeout. Now the app requires horizontal scrolling through 2 dozen headings to pick what category of food (which aren't organized in any discernible order I could figure), then scroll vertically to the item and choose it. I searched the Pad Thai section unsuccessfully for the Chicken version (only could find plain or seafood), then saw a "Chinese" section with General Tso Chicken and figured "why not"? Chose that along with some Goyuza, and 2 rolls. Took 15 minutes to select the food because the app is so difficult. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, it failed to place an order the 2 times I tried using "pay with card", giving me this odd error that looks like the app isn't configured right. The 3rd time, I used "cash" and it worked. Got an email that my order was placed at 5:30pm. Arrived at restaurant at 5:55pm, figuring my food would be being finished within a few minutes of that and I could pay in the meantime. Total of 5 customers in the restaurant and 4-5 employees. Wait 5 minutes for anyone to notice if arrived. When the employee finally comes up, I explain that I placed an order on the app. She proceeds to pick up what looks like a cell phone, scrolls to something, and then begins to enter my order into their system. Suddenly, she stops and said "General Tso Chicken... we don't have that". I explained that it was on the menu on the app, so I had selected it. At this point, I ask "are you just now putting in my order?" To which, she replies "yes. Do you want to replace the General Tso Chicken? We don't make that". I said "no thank you, just forget the order" and left. I could understand maybe not getting to your orders placed on the app immediately if you're slammed, but when the restaurant is almost empty and you haven't even looked at that system for nearly 30 minutes, that's just really bad business. Don't think I'll be back here for a while, which is unfortunate, as it used to be very good. Hopefully they can get things straightened out. read more

While waiting the extra time the person who took our order came back and got their order and then were given our order for free. We still had to wait and pay for our order. Not right! Went there on Sunday for something light and Thai. Ordered: Tom yum soup, gyoza, pad Thai and my bf ordered a seafood udon. Disappointed as I rated this place higher than the other two hibachi restaurants in the area. Tom yum soup: the worst I ever had. No layers of flavors and it was just super sour. I had Tom yum before many times in different places and this had been the worst. The shrimp in it was also over cooked too much. Gyoza: burned bottom. Well, it was the frozen gyoza you can buy from the grocery store so how they prepare it matters. Pad thai: sour and sweet, in a bad way. The shrimp in it again was over cooked too much. Tasteless and the texture was like rubber. The bean sprouts was not cooked, was it supposed to be uncooked? My bf's udon was okay. Compared to my dishes it was good. I admit that I did not have a good appetite as normal, but this was not good and disappointed me a lot. read more

Rome's only Japanese restaurant to hit your sushi cravings. They usually are fast with their food. There's a salad bar but wish there was more to it than iceberg lettuce, olives, and cucumbers. There is a fruit bar (orange and cantaloupes). Their signature rolls are good, I recommend trying them all to find your favorite roll. read more

By FAR the best place in Rome. Food is always super fresh and delicious, and they always accommodate any special requests I've made. The service is always amazing and super efficient. The servers always work together, so even when it's busy I don't have to wait for another drink, or to place another order, or ask for the check. They always have specials, so make sure to check the menu! Happy hour is practically all day, too!!! Also, I've had the pad Thai and it was good! The other reviewer that didn't like it didn't even realize that bean sprouts shouldn't be cooked, so put that in perspective. I ordered mine with tofu, which was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, so maybe that was the difference. Their sushi and sashimi are always delicious, and their drinks are always perfect. The only thing I didn't care for was the veggie tempura, I think because they cut the veggies too big. So for starters the food was great! I highly recommend getting sushi over hibachi because the sushi was the best of what we tried there. Prices are very fair and portions large. Wish I could have left a higher rating.. Happy hour prices are the prices food cost during certain time of day. It doesn't make sense to say "we can not combine offers with your Yelp coupon" that I've already purchased since I'm not using 2 coupons. Those are your prices at the time of day you advertise. I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner bento box. It came with two pieces of volcano roll for an appetizer that was very good. I liked fact that I could make my own salad at the salad bar. They had different dressings and of course a really good ginger one. It also came with miso soup, 3 pieces of California roll, I think two crab stick of sashimi , rice, plenty of chicken, two what I think are rice balls, sweet potato maki,and broccoli maki. I am a pretty big guy and had plenty to eat. It was all very fresh and very tasty. They gave me a sliced orange at the end for desert. The inside of the place was also very nice. Volcano rolls are awesome. I like the variety at the salad bar. They're specialty cocktail menu is also something you should def skim over, I recommend the scorpion bowl. We did sushi appetizers and hibachi dinners. I definitely recommend the steak and fried rice. read more
