I got a call from my insurance company the other day and he is refusing to cooperate, he doesn't want to file a claim with his insurance company, [[HIGHLIGHT]]he told the insurance company he would reach out to me on his own and I still have not heard from him.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He also did something that I would say is trying to deflect the situation to someone else's fault, he filed a claim with KIA on my behalf. They completely lied about pricing over the phone after calling for 3days and agreeing to a labor price not to mention they are replacing apart that they put in before. I let the shop know that my car will be towed to their shop because it won't start and after I pay for tow and get it to their shop and the tow truck leaves now the guy at the shop tells me it's a extra 100 on top and there was a misunderstanding after calling for 3days he clams they gave me the old price of which I paid last time to get the same part replaced very obvious discrimination from the phone calls and arrival from me walking up to the desk and my tow guy coming obviously steps behind me but for some reason my tow guy (being another race) was greeted and helped b4 my acknowledgement clearly being in line before him and I'm the one bringing you money. Terrible integrity. I came to get a couple tires cause I found them on Facebook Marketplace. He went inside to look for the tires and he tells me he has them. He doesn't tell me the tires he found were a completely different bargain brand. I go to look at how much they are and they are $50 less than the tires I agreed to purchase. Pretty sure I came in on a Friday and I came in for a diagnostic. He's the cheapest around in the stack. My car is running so bad barely any acceleration Friday afternoon let me know what's going on. Tell me he can't get information about a part until Monday they keep my car there over the weekend. OK I mean just amazing, {I was without a car for a few days, but my best friend was there to help me} Numi or Newme (sorry if I don't get spelling right)gave me reasonable low prices with it even at the end ran into a couple problems ( it just wouldn't be life if we didn't have a hiccup ) still kept the price what he told me he was gonna charge me unlike other places when they just do shit and don't even tell you until you come and pick up your car and have to pay for everything and then don't even put your right car information in. Drivers Beware!!! My friends and I are good at fixing our own cars, we know a lot. We can't always do our own repairs if a special tool is needed. I took my Chevy light truck/suv here to get a weird sound checked out. This place told me I needed new rear wheel bearings and two new rear axels. They told me a bracket was broken but I was just under the car the day before examining the rear suspension. I didn't trust their assessment so drove all the way to Oakland to a mechanic I trusted. The Oakland mechanic said definitely not a bearing noise. After we talked we made the connection that the noise started after I put on a roof rack! On the drive back to East Bay Auto Center I waited for the noise to happen and put my hand firmly on the front of the roof rack (not even close to rear wheels...) and the sound immediately stopped. I did this dozens of times to be sure. I arrived at East Bay Auto Center and thanked them for the transmission and differential fluid changes they did. Then informed them of their very incorrect diagnosis. They kept telling me it was the rear bearings/axels/broken bracket. They did not return my money. I told them it was the roof rack and that I confirmed it. On the way home I again confirmed it was the roof rack. When I got home I still didn't believe there was a broken bracket because I checked it myself. Again, I looked under the rear sway bar and no brackets were broken or even loose! Do not go here. They are not to be trusted when telling you what needs to be done. They will lie to get more business. I'm out $120 for nothing. They wanted me to spend $700 on repairs I didn't need. This review from a knowledgeable intermediate mechanic will cost them way more than if they had simply refunded me after catching their lies/incompetence. It's well worth driving to AutoMechs in Oakland, which is a very honest and sincere mechanic. I'm moving to another state and wish I could still take my car to AutoMechs. It's rare to say I will miss my mechanic. Do not go East Bay Auto Center. Liars. Only go here for simple stuff if you dare. Either they are deliberately lying to me or are extremely incompetent. Either is bad when working on machines that people trust with their lives. They weren't even close. The sound was from the top front of the roof rack. They said it was the bottom rear of the vehicle! I was looking for a shop that can perform a pre purchase inspection to be my eyes and ears prior to moving forward with a vehicle. Living +300mi away from the seller, there's only so much I can see/hear from videos/pictures where I needed more detail. New ownership. I walked in surprised to see the place had different mechanics and a new owner. I was in need of an oil change so I thought I'd just give the place a try since I was already there. They seemed nice and they weren't being intrusive about what needed to be done when they assessed my car. Although, they stated their prices were the best and that I wouldn't find another shop who would match them. They just gave me a quote and left it up to me to decide whether or not to proceed. I declined the additional services at the time. They even vacuumed my car which I thought was a perk. Although, I started to notice my car was leaking oil since then and I had it checked out at another shop. The mechanic told me whoever did my oil change last forgot to put the cap back on which could have pretty much destroyed my engine. The other mechanic also did the services that were recommended for half the price this shop was asking for. So this place not only wasn't on top of their services, but they could've cost me a new engine or caused a terrible accident for me if it blew out on the road. Terrible service and liars. My car was pulling hard left after someone hit my car. I dropped in mid day during the week to get an alignment to see if that would fix it. I knew I needed one anyway. I was a little intimidated pulling up my janky little car into the parking lot to see a nice little collection of Supras in the garage. Overall, the service was quick and accurate but more importantly, I got an honest opinion. The alignment was an issue but the bigger issue were my tires. His advice was to drive down to Costco "TODAY!!!" as he deemed my car too dangerous to drive. Dad advice FTW. I will be back for other work in the future. Honest and experienced mechanic are HARD to come by these days, long story short... i spend hours reading online reading about what can be wrong... blah blah blah... self diagnoses the car and bought the parts to replace them. the senior mechanic looked at the car for no more than 5 minutes and told me the problem was something else. ... and what do you know he was right.. 2 hours later he had the correct parts ready and fixed my car. so now i can return my wrong parts back to rock auto... and saved lot of money on labor where i didn't need to spend. my suggestion is.. trust the mechanics here listen to their suggestions 99% of the time they are right. the waiting room has couple supras that you can look at while you wait. i asked the owner how much for the car he said they are not for sale. read more

It looked like a mom and pop shop which I love and seems to have opened quite recently I went in for a same-day oil change (called in the morning and let me know I could come around 1) and I was in and out within 20 minutes. Prices were very reasonable and worth the money. when I asked about a couple problems, they guy did try to troubleshoot and checked my car for free. He did let me know a couple things were not in the best shape and even let me come under the car to show me in person (which I really appreciated) but he never pushed me to fix anything immediately and just said to get to it whenever I can. My Car was making a really loud whomping sound, like a helicopter. I took my car into this place on a Saturday and the gentleman there was very friendly. Did a quick diagnostics and let me know it was my wheel bearings. I left my car there and a bit while later, he called me saying the tires had the wrong nuts on it and it was almost impossible to get them off but he would try his hardest. The next call I received was him saying the car was all ready to be picked up! Thank you so much for helping me and getting my car fixed! I heavily depend on my car for commute with my toddler so I thank him for helping me keep my car safe for the both of us! And it was such a big help it was done same day. I went here before when there was a Asian owner but of course like most shops always tells u gotta fix a few extra thingys to get more money. Only went there before because I lived 2 blocks away. So recently I just went there because I had a check engine light do to a small leak in the evap system.. paid for a smoke test to find out what's wrong, basically needed a canister and vacuum hoses. But tell me why the prices these guys were listing were crazy, they listed a over $100 for a purge valve solenoid over $100 for some vacuum hoses over $400 for a canister and they charging like $200 an hour for labor some how over 2k to fix.. To make a long story short if u don't know your stuff about cars u gonna get ripped off.. I got my car back and said forget that.. I bought a used canister for $100 and the purge valve is already included with it, I had it put on for $160, I was very close to doing it myself.. but brought it to a way better shop that doesn't rip people off.. I got my vacuum hoses for free and my problem was fixed and passed smog.. I would never go back to this place ever!!! read more

Came in today for a simple smog check. There was an older Asian man behind the desk inside of the empty car shop - he & I were literally the only ones there. I had used Groupon for these guys & thought I caught a great deal of just $29.. I was wrong. I read the fine print & was fine with the small charges, however, the old man starting going on about how he'd have to charge more because my car is an Audi... what? On Groupon it says ANY car between the year 2000-2009, mine is 08'... whatever that's fine. He then goes with his little computer gadget and tells me a bunch of codes pop up and that my car would fail for sure. Ok, what do the codes mean? What exactly is wrong with my car? He then offers to give me the codes... for what? I don't know what they mean. He then says that he can run a diagnostic... cool, let's do it. "Come back Monday"... WHAT? I didn't want to argue because it seemed he had better things to do, like go back behind the desk & stare at his computer. I ended up going to Meekland Smog in Cherryland & was there literally less than 1/2 an hour & PASSED. Nothing was wrong with my car - the man was just lazy. He inspected it and walked me through what he was going to do and said everything's in good hands. Around lunch time, I get a call saying that my car is finished. Brought my car in because it was over heating and smoking. After a couple hours of inspections I got call stating they'll be able to repair and move forward with the service. What was being repaired did absolutely nothing as the same issue was still occurring. Brought it back the next day and they told me I had to replace the radiator and pay another $1,000 on top of the $980 that we just paid. What exactly was repaired/replaced ? They worked with me with payment installments but two days later after replacing the new radiator, driving onthe San Mateo bridge it starts to over heat again! This will be my 3rd time bringing back for them to fix this issue. My A/C and heater do not work anymore.it's just horrible service especially right around the holidays who has extra cash to fix for the 3rd time.
