Sorry, Paul, that you went through this. Hopefully this helps others see what they're really about. And don't let the owner's daughter talk you out of it -- I've experienced her dishonesty firsthand, and it's still going on. One more thing worth reading: the other top one star review. As it echoes their biggest problem of that barely their store. They don't tell you everything. If it's something that can cost them a sale. You need to know this. Here is one of my personal story's. After my purchase I found out from their own groomer. That they (the store ) knew about my caique's seizures. As he had them consistently when have his beak and nails done. They even had his medical history from what I was told from the vet. They at the least new about the seizures with there own groomer. I had to discover it myself. Becoming a detective as I saw what they where doing . They charged me over sixteen hundred dollars for a bird with chronic seizures. They did this knowing I loved him and had a decade-plus history with him. In my opinion, they took advantage of that bond. When I came back to talk about the dishonest sale, the owner's daughter offered a full refund -- if I gave them the bird back. No. I wouldn't do that. I asked for a partial refund instead, since they'd been dishonest from the start. They refused, of course -- they knew I'd never give him up, and they counted on it. Our story is deep and real; they didn't care. They just wanted my sixteen hundred dollars. Please, before you buy from them or even walk into the store, read the one star reviews. It's to everyone's benefit to know what you're walking in to. You want to know how dumb being unethical like this is. This store has terrible hours. Insanely overpriced products. As well as some of the most awkward people you'll ever talk to. This is coming from somebody who's front row in the awkward line. I am loyal to a fault though. If the store that had my boy! Gave me a wonderful memory instead of a nightmare life moment. I would've gone back to them maybe every week. Maybe purchased another bird from them. Absolutely would've bought their overpriced food and toys!! As that's what I was doing up to that point. Many birds end up isolated, neglected, or abandoned once people realize how complex their needs actually are. The corella pictured here from this store was desperately reaching for affection through the cage bars. No sentient being should be treated as a product to buy and sell. Please stop selling animals. Instead, work with rescues to help the many birds already in need of homes, and support efforts to ultimatelyend the exotic pet trade.

However, when calls from highly unprofessional staff are made, it's very discouraging; I'd much rather go buy a bird and know the business transaction is held to a higher standard. It's tremendously unfortunate, because there are some really great individuals in the community, but some (who are in positions of "authority") just aren't trained well to engage with others in the community, and ultimately give the efforts of the bird rescue a bad name. Very ironic, because while you are trying not to lose a customer on the phone you are losing all the customers in the store. Honestly, it's like some kind of prisoner torture. Turn it down or make it stop. I would never go into that store again if I didn't live my groomer and dog trainer there! Plus there is visible dog pee on virtually every low shelf in the store. Maybe get a janitor who doesn't mind cleaning up dog pee, or change your policy about allowing dogs in the store.
