My girlfriend Grace took me here after church today to check it out. I never been here but it's a cute little spot they sell dog food, cat stuff animal stuff. They had 2 cute kitties running around. I have no idea why my girlfriend walked into the back area lol I think she thought that was part of the store. when I saw her do that I told her I don't think that's for people to walk back there so I walked towards the front to see the bird they had. Maybe a sign saying employees only so people don't end up wandering in the back area. We got 2 dog treats for our dogs but it's a cute spot and you see horses on the drive there. A little hole in the wall place for most but living in Clayton this is a hot spot! We have chickens and were running out of food so we headed on over. The employees are supper helpful and knowledgeable. If you are unsure of what you need or just starting out and need some advice they can help steer you in the right direction. One thing chicken wise that we needed that they did not cary was oyster shell. They have feed with it mixed it but we offer it separately to our chickens. No need to have farm animals though! They have treats for birds, cats and dogs! Plus did I mention that there are 2 shop cats to love on while in the store! read more

I absolutely love this little store. I'm not sure if he's the owner, but the man who works there all the time is so friendly. Cisco, the resident macaw, is always happy to come out and eat some peanuts if you ask. I stumbled upon this place while out exploring on my scooter, and I'm so happy I found it. If I ever need speciality pet supplies I will make it a point to come here (I live in Antioch). They have unique scratching furniture for cats and interesting toys for dogs and any other animal you may have. They maybe have a small selection of items for horses, so this isn't the place to come if you are looking for tack or speciality crops. Definitely give this place a try if you're looking for pet items not everyone else has. I feel bad because I never buy anything while I'm in (due to being on my scooter), but the man is always happy to see me and show Cisco off. Great customer service. read more

Nothing but positive experiences at Rodie's. We adopted a wonderful cat here and were able to get everything we needed to make a happy home for her. We also pick up a lot of bird toys food for our Green cheek parrots and Caique parrot. Chicken food and supplies for the beautiful Silkie Chickens we bought as chicks here. Dog food and cat food too. A couple times a year they also have an Avian Vet hold clinic for all kinds of birds. Well educated about Parrots, Chickens, Dogs, Cats and... This is a great pet store for dog/cat/bird supplies but I do wish they would carry more horse supplies and feed options. They are close to many barns so would be real convenient to support them but they just don't carry much for horses anymore:/ Great staff- friendly and helpful. read more

You know, not just a supply store, or a Bird Shop or Groomer; but somewhere with that: "Come in and stay a spell" feel to it. A place that not only carries all the right stuff for avian needs, but also a place to network, swap knowledge, find out what's up; without the "Here's your hat-what's your hurry" vibe to it. Rodies is that place. Not a big bunch of black-belt avian advisors, but always someone around with a PJAC Cert and good knowledge of products. The Parrot Play and Nutrition stock is more than good. TONS of options for birds of all sizes. The ample retail area allows them to carry a broad spectrum of products. They have birds for retail, and I like the fact that it does not have feel of being stuffed to capacity with screaming parrots. The birds I've seen (and visited and played with) are all beautiful, well fed and healthy. It's well worth the haul from Benicia. Check it. :) read more

They also have a cute gift shop as well as neat birds for sale. I often need last minute little gifts for this or that and have found some really cute stuff in their shop. On a particularly bad day I bought myself some nice soaps and just loved them. The were elegant and just what I needed after a long hard work day. :) They were Lemon Verbena scented soaps and I just loved them. Great Parrot toy/supply selection, my main reason for shopping here. Highly recommended if you are looking for a parrot as a pet or just in the market.Somebody mentioned that they thought the parrot cages were dirty in their review... well I have been in this establishment many times and have never seen the cages to be overly dirty. I enjoy going into this store; it has an "earthiness" smell about it; I've driven by there hundred's of times when going down March Creek Road to drive around Mount Diablo but never went into it until two years ago as I was looking for birdseed; the people working there are very friendly and helpful, and they also let me look at the birds that they sell in a room within the store...very nice birds, clean cages and quiet; they also sell to the farmers and ranchers in the area. read more

I really did not like this store. Most of their cages were dirty and products were overall over priced. The staff seemed like they were trying to be knowledgeable but a lot seemed to fall through the cracks. The birds didn't look sick but most of them had little to no toys and the cages were filthy. Love Rodie's! Have driven by the place for years without stopping in and sorry waited so long. The store is easy to miss driving by on Marsh Creek Road it is set back and one doesn't quite see the face of their building till just passing it. So, use your GPS. Anyway, I started getting a few bird toys and other supplies from Rodie's as I live in Concord near Clayton so they are really convenient to me. My wife and I stopped in to get a few bird toys, great selection and prices, and saw a congo African Grey parrot. Something about him attracted us and we decided to buy him. The staff was attentive and helpful, as always, and we have added Einstein to our family. I highly recommend Rodie's for pet supplies in general but especially for their bird toys and related. read more

Worth the trip. They were helpful in picking out a cockatiel. Asked me a few questions as to what I wanted, etc. they spent time in talking about the birds and answering questions. Happy to say, the first day we took our bird home, he was already letting me scratch his little neck with my finger and sitting on my finger. He is also sitting with my two girls whom also loves birds and called ours "cheeseburger". Roadies has a great selection of birds and seem to know their birds. These people seem down to earth, friendly and helpful. A little more then what I would expect to pay, but I think that our new feathered friend is well worth it, he's so sweet! read more

This is a great store! We really had a fun time at the Customer Appreciation Fair and came home with loads of stuff we got in their sale attic where everything is 50% off. We bought bags of freeze dried salmon for dog training and chicken strips at unbelievable HALF OFF prices! We were introduced to many of the birds by their Bird Trainer who is an animal and avian behaviorist! She told us all about how she works with the birds individually, teaching them new behaviors and keeping their minds active and bright. What other store has an anmial behaviorist on duty??? None that I know of! Cages were all clean, birds looked healthy and happy, staff was friendly and super helpful and we had a great time at their party! read more
