It might look a bit funny but it is delicious ! The pork chow mein is thick and juicy, unlike Panda Express' thin flavourless chow mein. The Honey Walnut Shrimp is full of flavour and super creamy. We have loved eating at East China Town for about five years. However, our dinner last night was not very good at all. The pot stickers, fried prawns and eggrolls were all way under cooked. We absolutely love this Chinese place, so it actually kills me to give them a bad review because we enjoy the food. But their wait times are ridiculously not accurate. This is the third time in a row this summer that they told us 20 minutes for our food to be ready, so we show up to pick it up and the total wait time is over an hour. If the wait time is an hour, OK no problem because the food is good, we'll come grab it in an hour. But don't tell me 20 minutes and make me wait 40+ minutes in the parking lot 3 times in a row. Since Beijing closed, we have searched for somewhere to eat Chinese food. Several places have disappointed us, but finally we have found a good Chinese restaurant. The ambience is somewhat lacking, but the food is very good, and the people who work there are very nice. We love their chow mein, and the beef and broccoli and the sweet and sour pork are very good. This has been our go to for Chinese food for the last 8 years. We love the food. The one downfall though is when you call for a pick up order they tell you anywhere from 10-20 minutes. Okay, no problem. We always coming in about 20 minutes but then we end up waiting another 20 minutes or sometimes even longer for our food once we get there because they haven't started making it. It's nice we get hot food, but when you say it'll be 20 minutes when I call I kind of expect it to be ready in around a 20 minute timeframe. Not 30 minutes after I get there to pick it up. read more

We must have ordered on a busy day. We ordered food to go and the lady on the phone told us 15 minutes and the food will be ready. I got to the restraunt and still had to wait another half hour. I was not too happy about that. This is the reason for 3 stars. When I got the food home and we opened the containers there was plenty of food for 4 people. They give large amounts in their individual orders. The food was very good and the walnut shrimp was awesome. I drove across town to get the garlic chicken I remember as being flavorful and one of the best dishes in the menu when I lived in this part of town....I can not express my shock and disappointment when I opened the container to find pasty noodles without color or pork (not even a green onion or slice of SOME vegetable) and the chicken had about a Tbsp of sauce at the bottom of the overly-battered chicken bits. This place is good folks... really good. I have had takeout here many times. It has always been good. A few weeks ago my family and I dined in and we were blown away by the experience. The food is fresh, piping hot and the portions are HUGE. We ordered the BBQ pork, egg rolls, and pot stickers as appetizers. I swear, I think they put crack in the egg rolls and pot stickers. It's really that good. The pot stickers come out with a vinegar based soy sauce and the egg rolls have a sweet and sour sauce as a compliment. What an unbelievable way to kick off this meal! For the main entree I had their garlic chicken. It is to die for. I like how the level of spiciness is just right. The chow mien is chock full of veggies but super noodle-y at the same time. I'm not big on fried rice so I always order double of the chow mien. It's literally a meal in itself. The hot and sour soup is also very flavorful. I order it when I am suffering with head congestion and add sriracha chili sauce. Got a cold? Feed it hot and sour soup. The owner is super nice and is very accommodating with special requests. The restaurant is impeccably clean and the kitchen is open and also very clean. If you are looking for good fresh Chinese food that is big on flavor and easy on the wallet then this is your place. If you aren't used to dining in I suggest you do so here. They do not disappoint. I would have to agree with the other Yelpers on here that the review from "Jamie" isn't legit. One other Yelper said he knows the owners daughter and that "Jamie" is actually a disgruntled ex employee who was fired.
