He even helped by giving answers i to questions i didn't know i needed to ask yet! We were able to close exactly on schedule, and i was never unsure about what next to do or how things were going. I really appreciated the constant communication and updates, and Nick always made sure i knew what i had to do to keep things on track. He was also very clear and helpful in regards to costs and interest rates, there was never a time where i was confused about unexpected prices or how much things would cost. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend him!

I cannot say enough good about Maureen Davis & Henny O'Connor and Oxford Capital! Their willingness…read moreto go above and beyond, their genuine kindness, their generosity, their KNOWLEDGE, their continual encouragement and overall support throughout the entire process of buying our first home was second to NONE!! We were working with an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT seller. We had been renting the property for the prior 3 1/2 years and the communicated intent was always for us to purchase when she was ready to sell. Well the seller continuously put up RIDICULOUS roadblocns and was dangling the purchase in front of us the entore time. Always threatening that if we disnt do what she asked, the deal would die. One of the issues was 4 missing items that she had left on the property for us to use which either never worked or broke over the course of time and we had replaced them at our cost. The seller was demanding a stupid amount of $ to "recoup her loss" or else she would not agree to close. Mind you this happened the day BEFORE we were supposed originally close! Both Henny AND Maureen each gave us one of the items as replacements, from their PERSONAL PROPERTY! That's a caring human being! One item was a push lawn mower and the other was an electric dryer! Not cheap items to sacrifice! But they did it....and graciously! We have been blown away by their kindness and generosity. Beyond that Maureen kept in constant contact with us and helped us get to and through our closing finally, just yesterday. The seller held it up for over 4 months! If you are looking for the BEST TEAM to have on your side.. they are IT! On behalf of my entire family, THANK YOU Maureen & Henny! You helped make our dream come true!

After…read moreless than 24 hours on the market, the Nothnagle seller accepted my all cash, over asking price, w/o an inspection contingency, 30-day closing offer for their listing which stated in the MLS description that materials were already ordered for repairs that would be completed before closing. All parties signed a contract stating that closing would be on or before I closed on my former property (which took place on 10/25/18.) But, on Nov 6th I find out that not only are the materials NOT yet ordered, but that the property is not in compliance with HOA rules from prior repairs, and the seller is unable to fulfill the terms he made in the contract. The Nothnagle agent never responded to several of my offers to arrange pre-posession or seller concessions to remedy the burdens that each day not closed causes me. So I guess Nothnagle sellers can fail to perform as promised without any consequence & at the cost of the buyer. A written agreement which includes a Time is of the Essence clause means nothing to them. What a nightmare the last 8 weeks have been, and now that the seller is finally prepared to close, today claims he has a "new offer" and is holding it over my head to strong-arm me into closing on terms which benefit the delinquent seller and cost me for the mistakes he made with 4 major structural repairs and the HOA approval/certification process. One way to see how good of a Realtor you've got -- they're either going to stick up for you or they're going to try to force you to close so they can get paid.

I confirmed that the deposited checks had gone through before mailing out my tax payment. A week later I get notice from the bank that they bounced the payment due to insufficient funds and I'm being charged $38. By the time I received the notice they did the same thing again. I went in and proved that there was more than enough $$$ in my account and they informed me that there is a 10 day hold on ALL initial deposits. Wish they mentioned this when I opened the account and had told them my intentions in regards to paying my taxes. I was only informed of a hold on ATM transactions, which didn't matter because it would take 10 days before receiving my debit card. To make matters worse, the branch manager in Penfield told me she felt bad because she knew when they were bouncing an IRS payment, but insisted she didn't know that the deposit cleared because of the 10 day hold. How can she not know the money cleared when I was able to see that it did, but she knew the check was for a tax payment??? She also said she tried to call me, however I never received a voicemail. I further reviewed my call log and showed her that there was never an incoming call from the branch -- surprise, she couldn't explain that one either. I don't know what their issue is, but lesson learned; never trust Fairport Savings Bank with your money!! I immediately closed the account, moved the money to M&T, and (God bless M&T) the tax payment went through the next day. Now I just have to deal with the IRS penalties, and I will never again have anything to do with Fairport Savings Bank!

I had the misfortune of doing business with East Coast Commercial (ECC), which was to provide a…read moremortgage for the property I was buying. The company's president, Christopher Ando, pressured me to wire the large ($2,300) loan-fee deposit, which he repeatedly assured me was refundable if ECC did not provide the property's loan. He also repeatedly assured me that ECC would give an approval decision (i.e. commit or decline) within 10 days. After 20 days, ECC had not provided a loan decision and it was apparent from his company's failure to request any additional information on the property that he had not made any real progress on securing a loan. Consequently, I had to resort to an expensive hard money loan for the property's mortgage. I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After ECC repeatedly refused to refund the loan deposit, ECC requested that the BBB assign a neutral arbitrator to review my complaint and produce a binding outcome (The arbitrator was equally compensated by both parties). That arbitrator awarded a refund to me, however, ECC failed to refund any money during the required period and even to this day. That is not surprising since ECC has other unhappy customers and even failed to pay a legal judgment awarded by the court. This scofflaw's spotty record has caused ECC to be awarded an F rating by the Better Business Bureau: http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business-reviews/loans-small-business/east-coast-commercial-inc-in-rochester-ny-66007687 If your experience is like mine, you will not be able to count on any results if you hire Mr. Ando and/or East Coast Commercial. Rather, you can count on the company being all talk, despite few, brief communications during the loan process. And, while you can forget about the money back guarantee on the deposit you give ECC, it is guaranteed that the company will expend little effort on your loan and string you along the way. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
