Beer Battered Pickles, Polenta Holla and French Toast Berry
    Lauren M.

We stopped in for Saturday brunch and had a great meal! The staff were so friendly and nice. We shared fried pickles, challah French toast and the polenta cakes. Everything was delicious. The food came out quick and was piping hot. They have an extensive beer menu and also serve wine and cocktails. There's seating indoors as well as outdoor seating if you prefer to be outside. Really nice spot in a neighborhood that can be a little bit of a restaurant desert.

My friend and I came in for happy hour. We sat and were given menus. Our waitress Corinne was great! She was very patient when we weren't sure what we wanted to order and gave us recommendations. Our drinks were great! I had the gumbo which was delicious and very flavorful. I also had the fried pickles which were perfectly fried. The bang bang cauliflower was perfectly seasoned and had a great sauce. My friend had the burger which was perfectly cooked. Its a small space but we really enjoyed it.

Neighborhood favorite. Good food kind service. The wings and fries are always my go to, but I've had the sandwiches and the salads and everything is delicious. Would recommend if you like beer! They also have liquor too, though.

I have no idea why it took me so long to try this place, but it did and I have to say I really regret not coming here years ago. We finally went in for bunch and some biscuits and gravy thing....which was really excellent. The service was miles and miles ahead of anything else in the area. Had such a lovely time we came back for dinner a week later. Again, the food and service were so good that im really looking forward to returning. The place just has an all around great vibe, good food and nice staff.

The Strawberry/Basil Sangria is so refreshing and tasty! Also very addictive to be honest. Is that good.

Food good, service good, ambience good, overall a great place to hang out, have food and drinks, chill, and watch the afternoon turn into night and plan for the weekend.

In the 3 years I have lived in the neighborhood and have been frequenting this establishment, Never I have I been so insulted and disrespected. I was just charged $26 for one drink!!!. I can justify paying $16 for a signature cocktail, as doesn't seem too far off in price. But to have the unmitigated Gaul to add an additional $10 for Casamigos brand tequila is revolting!!!! it is down right disrespectful!!! To the owner of this establishment and its sister establishment PERCH I say SHAME ON YOU !!!!! The temerity. I will never and I will ensure that none of my friends or collogues or acquaintances ever again spend at dime at your establishments ever again!! oh wait I was charged for a side of MUSTARD!! are you serious?!!! less than an once worth.

Wings the day before the Super Bowl? We were told the wings is the signature dish and a fan favorite at this spot , so I had to try them. They didn't disappoint. A delicious tangy with a bit of "wow!" sauce on large pieces of wings and drumsticks. Large pieces of carrots and celery and a a creamy slightly blue cheese lumpy dipping sauce. I took two pieces home and they were still satisfying two days later. With calamari one never knows if you get the squiggles or the circles, and alas the dish had more of what we didn't like. But we could pick through and enjoy the lightly battered taste. Nothing of great note for that dish. Service was attentive and cafe tables clean. People were seated at the bar, at tables, and walking into another room in the back. I had a Harlem ale which I'd have again. I'll be back!

Solid brunch fare, good beer selection and friendly staff. You want this bar in your hood.

Mushroom-spinach mac & cheese, hush puppies with honey butter

Food is fine, beer list is great, staff are super friendly, service overall is a bit off. FOOD: The veggie macaroni and cheese ($16) was disappointing. The cheese sauce was thin and not very flavorful - if your ideal mac & cheese involves velveeta (no judgement!) you might love this, but I like a fuller/sharper flavor and less runny sauce. The garlicky Panko on top was a nice touch though! The hush puppies with hothoney butter ($9) were good, but the order only came with 5 little balls, meaning they were $2 per piece. My partner got the fried cod sandwich and liked it a lot! SERVICE: Our server was very friendly and attentive. But there was an issue with our appetizer (hush puppies), which still hadn't come out after all 4 entrees were served. We asked her about it, and she went to check. When they eventually came out, there wasn't an apology or explanation. It kinda of defeats the purpose of an appetizer if it arrives after the main course... Also, if there were happy hour specials we wouldn't have known. I think there was a weekly dinner entree posted on a board behind the bar, but that wasn't on the online menu and the server didn't mention it either.

Is there a sports watching scene? I am looking for neighborhood place to watch NY Liberty? It is still a challenge to find Liberty games in bars. I guess bc it's women's basketball...

We put on the Liberty! Come say Hi!

I prefer to sit indoors on very Sunny, hot days. Does this place now have air conditioning? Or just fans?

    Yes

Could this be a good, quiet place to work from and sip some wine during the day?

Yes, sit deeper inside or up front in a cozy little corner.

This is a place to find rare beer not ordinarily seen elsewhere. This was my first visit and I must have walked past Harlem Hops innumerable times along Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard in Harlem. This time I caught myself walking past on a beautiful Saturday with a five second delay and turned around and walked into Harlem Hops. Initially I thought I'll have a beer and keep it moving. I ordered a canned Hefeweizen, Deep Fried Highlighter Hefeweizen. Yep, that's the name and it was great. It supposed to have a banana note, but that was barely detectable. The clove note was there and it rode the top of this summer Hefeweizen nicely. Given this is one of the canned beers, they may have this anytime. Then I had American Pale Ale on tap, another great choice for a summer day: crisp, refreshing, cloudy light amber in color and unfiltered reminding you of a Hefeweizen. It has a slight citrus fruity flavor to my palate. There are sixteen taps. The taps change with the kegs, the season and what the owner sources from local breweries and beyond. Meanwhile, I'm having good conversations with folks who are regulars and the woman behind the bar, giving great recommendations. I forget the woman's name, but she is great. You can sample whatever they have on tap. She is good at understanding your taste profile and making recs. They also have a limited food menu. There is a backyard patio or garden and one can sit outside in front on the sidewalk. The dark interior is nice and cool on a summer day. The bathroom was clean as well. Four stars!

It feels like a coffee shop, bar, café, lounge and pre-party stop all at once. The bar staff were "nightclub friendly", they had party energy that this place doesn't warrant. It's cold from the tiles and exposed pipes, yet warm from the wooden walls and historic decorative figures. It works perfectly either way. This place is like your essential neighborhood dive bar, but with taste. If Tom's Restaurant had a cool, younger cousin who knew everything about beer, it would be this spot. It has that loyal following energy, the kind of place people in the know appreciate long before it becomes famous on a tourist list. They are known for their craft beer and let me tell you, they have a ton of it. I am not even into craft beer like that, but I like to experiment. At the rate I am going, it will take me about a year to get through all the options. Maybe two years if I behave responsibly. The food is great too. I think they have special days with unique menus or events once in a while because the times I went, something interesting was happening. Even on normal days, everything was on point. The fries alone are worth stopping in for. Simple, delicious, and dangerous. And the meals are well portioned, which is rare for a craft beer bar. What I really like is the vibe. You can come alone and mind your business or you can chat with a friendly patron. It does not matter. The spot builds community without trying too hard. In good weather they have a bit of seating out front. Do not let the neighborhood scare you off. The staff is excellent and the atmosphere is homey and comfortable. I walked into the well appointed space and had my choice of seating. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my order came within ten minutes. Given what this kitchen normally handles, the pace of orders today was a cakewalk. The shrimp and grits are served on a bowl of a plate with a wide rim to exaggerate the amount of the serving. It's all very tasty, but they could afford to place the shrimp and sliced andouille on a more substantial mound of grits. Grits are very inexpensive and it seemed they could afford to have more of these creamy grits as part of a more substantial presentation, especially at this price point in the mid twenties. There are about six medium to large sized shrimp with a few slices of andouille to spice things up. To the credit of the chef, the dish managed good flavor without overly salting it or have it swimming in butter. Read that last sentence again. There seem to be cooked onions and peppers in the sauce, rounding out the flavors. Service was good at Corner Social and the bathroom is clean. There are far more things on the menu, but the shrimp and grits leave the palate satisfied, but the stomach wanting more for the value.
