Wine comes, only 1 appetizer, No Plates, No Utensils, tried to order dinner entrees, with multiple servers, bunch of attitude, no direct eye contact. No server took the time to ask a 6 person table, what they would like for dinner on a Saturday night at 7:30? Some people left to go home, the remaining people ordered more wine, a few dinner entrees asked multiple times, never received anything we ordered, except wine. Comped 2 orders of fries before we got our wine bill, the appetizers we didn't get were on the bill, we gave up on dinner entrees. If not for live jazz music, I doubt anyone would be here. Not worth the hassle! Bring your own food and bottle of wine next time. No food rating, never received anything to rate, except frites. read more

The corner lounge, very cozy and tight place. I came in too see the great Samara Joy sing and as you can see it was a packed house. Although it was packed I was able to still enjoy the show and hear her beautiful voice radiate throughout the establishment. This place is not vegan but several of the dishes can be made vegan & chef Patrick was glad to accommodate. I ordered the lentil soup, quinoa salad & Brussels. EVERYTHING was delicious & the portion sizes were very generous so i had enough to take home for lunch tomorrow! The lentil soup is house made, not from the can & i could taste the love right along with the chopped carrots, celery & onions. The seasonings in the soup married together nicely; nice consistency, not too thick but still hearty. The quinoa salad was AMAZING!!! I didn't expect it to be so flavorful since this is not a vegan restaurant but the dressing was so tasty, the arugula was fresh & the tomatoes with sautéed onions layered well. The brussels delectable, seared not burnt & balsamic glaze on top added a nice touch. Service was fantastic, the Chef even came out to ask if I liked everything; I told him NO, I don't like it, I LOVE it & will definitely back. My first time at Corner Lounge. If you want weekend brunch without feeling you're still in the club from the night before, this is the place for you. Good music at an acceptable level to hear your tables conversation. I just got a couple apps, the Margherita flatbread with chicken and bbq wing. Love, love, love this new spot in the neighborhood! The CL is located about 2 short blocks up from my son's apt, so three of us headed over there for dinner the other night and, WOW! There was plenty of seating and we were immediately greeted by a super friendly server All together, we ordered: The Caesar salad-excellent, large and covered in shaved parm The eggplant parmigiana app-Well prepared and delicious, the eggplant was baked to just the right consistency and the tomato sauce was perfect A house green salad-Exceptional. Greens tossed with a honey vinaigrette with roasted beets and small fried balls of goat cheese A seafood pasta dish that was delicious, HUGE, filled with fresh fish and definitely enough for two meals! ...and everything was plated/presented beautifully! The Corner Lounge is also located in a lovely spot, with big windows looking out at an old city church on one side and a playground on the other. I can absolutely see tables outside as well, once the weather gets warmer. There was also some mention of possibly starting a brunch service in the near future!! Found this cute little place on a whim and so glad I did. It's a quaint little cafe right on the corner, but inside is bright, airy and clean. It was crowded so we sat immediately - the waitress, Crystal, was very nice and came right over to bring us water and take our orders. Oof, this place is going to take all of my money!! A friend recommended we eat here and oh my goodness, the reviews were right about this place! Upon first glance, it's bare and no frills, however the dishes are close to fine dining (but at reasonable prices)! When I went, there was only one hostess/server, so props to her for balancing it all! She was very attentive, periodically coming to us and asking if we needed anything. She also gave us great recommendations! I got the fettuccine with chicken and shrimp -- I usually don't like fettuccine... lmao I mistook the fettuccine as linguine and assumed I'd be getting a red sauce pasta, HOWEVER, the dish was so good!! The sauce wasn't too thick, it was just right. They serve a HEAVY portion of pasta and protein and even on an empty stomach, I had to tap out towards the end (like two more bites), because I just couldn't do it!! It was so much food! My friend got the penne with chicken, and oof, that looked good and filling, too! Apparently they sell out of the flatbread pizzas by the evening, so a heads up on that. For dessert, we got the Creme brûlée and chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. I had the chocolate cake and ice cream and OH MY GOSH that pistachio ice cream!!! I was so confused because it looked like mint chocolate chip, but also like that blue ice cream from Cold Stone, but it wasn't -- it was such a fresh pistachio ice cream -- that even had pistachios in it for that extra crunch!! Worst meal I've had in Harlem so far. Flavorless, thin, tough, rubbery "chicken strips". Neither the breading nor the chicken had any seasoning whatsoever. The chicken had that pre-frozen taste and smelled and tasted a little off. Cloudy seltzer water (lemon/lime juice was automatically added without asking me beforehand). Mystery spicy white sauce that had no recognizable taste. The meal was a rip off at $17.38. The only good thing from this meal were the fries and the ketchup. The Corner Cheese Burger is to die for. I first tried this place when I was visiting New York and staying at a nearby Airbnb. I have since moved to the city and still order from this place and it is so good. Stopped by late night to see how the establishment operates and let me start off with this, customer service was great and attentive, which certainly made up for the lack up ambiance the environment was lacking. On one side of the coin the place offers a warm and somewhat home/cozy aspect. The other side makes me feel that a little redecorating could go a long way to keep up to date. It is called The Corner Lounge, after all! Next is the food, started with the Calamari with a side of Corner Fries , accompanied with a delicious garlic aioli. Presentation and Plating was nice and offered a nice touch to the dishes. Main dish was the corner BBQ ribs with Mac&Cheese, 5/5 highly recommend. Seasoning was on par and the tenderness of the ribs is *chefs kiss*. My only issue was the Caesar Salad, heavy on the cheese and dressing played down the lightness of the greens. Truly solid place with ridiculously low prices. Like I don't understand how they could possibly charge so little for so much. AND the quality is exceptional. I'm confused. Their ribs dinner plate is a highlight. When I tell you the ribs fall off the bone, I mean they literally cannot be picked up whole. They are smothered in a standard sauce; not my favorite. However, the garlicky green beans and hefty side of mac are absolutely fabulous and of notable quality. The whole thing is insane for $15. Other amazing options are the chicken sandwich and burger, both of which come with fries dusted in herbs and parmesan. They do two pieces of flattened breast, which maximizes crispy in the chicken sando. Their burger is really flavorful and very juicy. Each includes fresh tomato, lettuce, pickles, and a Dijon - ask for an extra sauce if you like em soaked like I do. They could really get away with charging far more than $10 for these bad boys, but I'm happy they don't. You should definitely go. read more

The atmosphere is unpretentious and the food is a culinary delight. As a first time diner, I played it safe and ordered the bbq shrimp with chicken, sauteed spinach and fingerling potatoes...all perfectly cooked with flavor out the wahzoo! I should have ordered dessert! I dined with nine of my Sorority sisters and every one of our plates arrived like clock work...which tells me this is not your run-of-the-mill friend-of-the-family cooking in a pop up restaurant space. I met the chef... he does savory so well! As a resident of Harlem, I would definitely call this place a "must dine experience"...all the way down to the old school music play list with beautiful plating. The food here is delicious but the customer service is very often abhorrent. The first time I dined in, I was left sitting with my dirty plates for nearly 15 minutes until I had to go and hunt down a worker to ask for my check. The person who brought my check was the chef, and he did not say one word to me during the entire interaction--not hello, not sorry for the wait, not thank you for dining with us. I remember feeling notably turned off by this because at the same time as I was signing my bill, a white couple walked by and he stopped and engaged them in eager, pleasant conversation. Other times--like last night--the customer service for takeout has also been off putting. I ordered a meal for pick up at 7:55pm, with grubhub saying it would be ready at 8:25pm. I enter the restaurant at 8:30 and say I'm picking up a grubhub order for [my name]. The woman at the front desk says it isn't ready. I say okay, how long will the wait be? She becomes riled up in her response, "I don't know! We have a lot of orders." I ask again, "you can't give me an estimated time?" Again she responds incredulously and with a tone of annoyance and upset. "No! We have plenty of orders." I was on the phone with a friend and just stepped away, because I had never had such an absurd reaction at a restaurant--being told they could not give me any information about when the food I ordered half an hour ago would be ready, because they had "other orders." 2 mins later she put the takeout bag with my name on it on the counter. I say thank you. She stops me--"you have to confirm that you have received your order." I say, "what do you mean?" She then tells me again that I need to confirm that I have received the order. At that point I realize she is not only unversed in customer service, she clearly has some other issue of which I was not aware. I live next door and often ordered from this place due to convenience, but on several occasions I have gotten the message that I am not worthy of being treated like a paying customer should be. Pizza was super good--totally worth having after my five year pizza hiatus. The steak sandwich was really tasty but a touch salty and it was a smaller size than I expected. I got a soup with the sandwich however, and that was a big portion. Take out was fine. On the site I had a 10% discount but it went away when I went to pay with card in person.
