After colliding with and running over the contents of the unsecured load of the white pickup truck ahead of me in the far right lane of the 210 W and approaching the 75B exit, I was very grateful that I didn't threaten or assault the female driver of that truck and even more grateful that I found this amazingly honest and efficient auto shop. What you need to know about my experience: from the moment I walked in the door was greeted by Rico Rodriguez. I felt like I was at home. The shop is clean organized in the mechanics are friendly. I came in to have my wife's cars radiator serviced and ended up letting them change my oil and change my rear brakes. Quality Service at a reasonable price. Took my Honda CRV in for routine Service and oil change. Jacob was very attentive and gave me a fair and accurate estimate. Rico, the owner also greeted me. They are AAA rated and completed their multi point inspection revealing my tires were getting worn and will need to be replaced soon. To be very honest my car is a hunk of junk , however their prices are over the top . You're better off at pepboys to get a reasonable price without the crazy fees this place adds on . Especially with the owner Roger grinning at his register as he adds fee after fee ‍... kinda evil if you ask me . To give you an estimate I had my turbo charger replaced and this place wanted $2300 when I actually paid $1000 at pepboys. Purchase the intake manifold from AutoZone on 4-25-2021. Came to this location on May 1st 2021 for tightening down bolts of manifold installing gasket in thermostat and securing fuel rails. Also car had vacuum leaks. This was a smog repair for$587.43 On the 1st of June my truck broke down on the way to work on the freeway making a skipping noise, had to go back to the mechanic and they charge me for engine labor and spark plug replace and also to rethread a hole for spark plug.$325.35 Lost my job for not having reliable transportation. 24,000 mile warranty and I've only driven 300 miles. Not even a month later car don't start or crank and it's coolant all over the manifold that is clearly coming from the thermostat area, I call for warranty repair and they beat around the bush saying they have new repairs that are priority. It has been 2 weeks and I am without my only vehicle for transportation. read more

When picked up the car Roger said no it 's 10% off the part. That is not what said or relayed on the phone. I had my truck towed into the shop on November 29, 2021 - after speaking with Roger, and paid a deposit of $3,000, via Cashier's Check - to get the engine rebuilt, a new cooling system and radiator replaced. It was not known at the time whether I would need a new clutch for my vehicle. I was told that my vehicle would be ready by the end of the second week of December, 2021. It is now April 18, 2022 - as I write this complaint - and I haven't been able to get the truck back from them, with the promised work and services done. Other than some "delays" and one mention of being "short-staffed", I have not been contacted by them. My last time initiating a call to them to find out the status of the vehicle on March 10, 2022 - as logged on my cell phone. When I came to the shop, looking for my glasses (which I thought I may have left behind in the glove compartment around that date), I saw my truck sitting in the bay with the engine compartment empty, while telling me they were about 75% complete with the work for my pickup truck. It has been over one month, since that last contact to them, and I have not heard anything from East Highland Auto Tech. I have been very patient about this whole process. But, five (5) months without my vehicle, without any communication or updates on the vehicle is not acceptable. As of today, I have filed an online complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repairs to get this resolved, as well as with AAA - since they are endorsed by them. If the situation is resolved to my satisfaction, then I will consider changing my rating. Until then, the one-star rating will stand. I would also advise anyone to think twice before paying any kind of deposit to get any kind of work done, as it seems to me that they have kept my money and my vehicle hostage. read more

I was traveling back from Big Bear when I hit a rock on the mountain road. The tire went flat, and to my surprise these newer cars don't have spare tires anymore! I had to get the vehicle towed in to East Highland Auto Tech, and Brianna from there had the new tire picked up from the warehouse and waiting when I arrived. There were more complications as we discovered that the rim was cracked too. Roger, the owner was going above and beyond to locate a matching rim for this special edition M Benz. My car blew a hose and overheated while going up the 330 to big bear with my family. After getting towed to the shop just before closing, the whole staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and even allowed us to stay inside after they closed while we waiting for our ride because it was 95 outside. The shop was quick and fair with the work and got us back our vehicle the very next morning. They cheated us and scammed us, we paid over 500 dollars to get something fixed and within a week it came back as if they didn't do anything and just let my car sit there, so disappointed and when we went back they wanted to charge us another 500, so instead of having them fix it I opted out and wanted to shop around for more convenience but even taking my car out they decided to charge me although they didn't do anything to my car. The shop is the most horrible and expensive place in the Highland area Roger is a terrible businessman and rip off that would be the owner. $1400 later my car still runs like shit and I didn't get any money back. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere I would never put anybody down for good work but his work ethic and labor rates are outrageous , customer service should be number one regardless . My vehicle is there for eight days and the man had nothing to say except I'm sorry about that. Took my cars there to be repaired and everything they did was awful and expensive and the important things were never touched. Just did a lot of unneccesary things that cost a lot of money. We took the car to another repair place and what they found was ridiculous. Car had never had a tune up and things were broken and an air filter had been charged to me but had never been changed. It was black and caked with dirt. Everything they had fixed broke or had never really been fixed, just mickey moused and charged us way more than the other places quoted us. Just wanted to write an update. Two most recent issues regarding this place. 1.) Price. After doing some more shopping and being familiar with the area, I have found that the prices are quite higher than most places. Yes you get what you pay for but nobody ever said you had to pay an arm and a leg. 2.) Time. I feel that this place the time is quite long to get repairs done. Even when you make an appointment, the repairs and updates are longer than normal. In the end, yes this place does quality work and I do trust them. As the saying goes, it's not easy to find an honest mechanic. I took my Jeep there for an oil change and later, when I received the bill, it was higher than I expected. There had been a misunderstanding as to what services I agreed to. I paid the bill and left the shop but later called them back and talked with Roger (the owner) about what had occurred. He was very gracious and apologized for any miscommunication about the bill. He immediately offered to refund the money for the charge in question. Don't take your car to that East Highland Auto place anymore!!! It's not a surprise it has such a low rating on Yelp!!! Owner (Roger) is a liar and doesn't complete work when he says he will and tries putting words in your mouth. Rates are expensive compared to other places. He's had my girlfriend's car since 09/20/16 at 11AM to look at the car because the check engine light came on. (Mind you, we just paid $650 worth of work at East Highland Auto (same shop) for engine work. So why is the check engine light coming on again? Wouldn't it be courtesy to look at the engine without charging us since we just had work done within that last few weeks? He said it will take some time to look at, but by end of day (09/20/16) it will be finished. He said he would call us. My girlfriend never received a call, so we call him at 530PM (closing time) to check the status of it (because the shop is about to be closed and we still hadn't received a call). He told my girlfriend that it would now be done the next early morning on 09/21/16. We get there at 830AM on 09/21/16 for him to say that it will now be done in afternoon. Car wasn't even looked at. We are paying $96 for it to sit there over 24 hours for nothing to be done. He kept lying during our conversations and trying to put words into our mouth while claiming he never said when it would be done. Logically, if it could not have been looked at on 09/20/16 for us (as he claims he told us)...why would we leave it overnight? We would have brought it on 09/21/16 instead...so my girlfriend wasn't without a car. I am sure he will still try to charge us. Fact of the matter is, we just had $650 worth of work done prior to this and things are taken care of ASAP...but to look at our car, he doesn't have time and lies. If you don't have time, then just tell us and we will understand and find other accommodations. But since my girlfriend is a nurse and drives over 45 min one-way to get to work....She NEEDS her car. You would think that good customer service and keeping customers happy would be a priority for this guy to keep future business. I came here because my car needed a new clutch. They had it for 7 days. I noticed it was hard to shift in into first and second gear. I took it to Honda just to look at it. They said 2 bolts were missing from the clutch and as soon as Honda put in the new bolts it drove fine. Honda told me to take it back to this place to make sure it didn't damage the pressure plate. I'll never refer this place to no one. This is all a nightmare. Honda is going to document everything they found wrong with the clutch to show it to them incase they give me a hard time. The clutch is warranted for 2 years. I really hope it isn't damaged, because they'll probably have it another 7 days! read more
