One of the best coffee shops I've been to, especially in terms of aesthetics and merch! I've been missing out majorly but finally discovered the wonder of East Pole Coffee this past weekend, when French school was canceled for the little guy and me due to a main gas line break semi-nearby. I flipped through my bookmarks based on distance from me and landed on East Pole. AT and I immediately loved the vibe in and around East Pole Coffee. I discovered from my landscape architect sister that the building in which East Pole lives "will win an Atlanta Urban Design Commission award for adaptive use!" She's so excited and you ought to be too. Perusing the simple menu and looking at the various muffin and other pastries on the counter (most coming from local H & F Bread Co.), one of the grey tees caught AT's eye and he determined he couldn't depart the place without it. I'm still an espresso-based drinks lover at my very core and since it was cold, I got an iced latte while AT went for the (normal = hot) cortado. There was an Ethiopian variety that day and our drinks came out pretty quickly, after we brought our bloob muffin and oat waffle to the table to nibble. The little guy was actually quiet as he enjoyed sipping water and eating all the grub, which was both nice for his 'rents (who didn't have to suffer embarrassment) and our coffee-sipping neighbors (for obvious reasons, what with their heads all stuffed in their laptops and books). One of the coolest coffee places, I've ever been to. The Americano was fantastic. Top notch

Really great cafe to get work done, do some reading, or chat with a friend. The interior design is quite aesthetic and instagram approved. It is located inside a business building it seems like, and there's a good amount of tables and outlets inside to get seated. The music playing inside the cafe could be a little loud for some, so right next to the cafe is a quieter area with stairs where you can sit, drink some coffee, and enjoy the natural lighting from the glass wall. There's seating out on the front patio as well. The baristas are really friendly. The barista heated up my danish and brought glasses of water to our table for me and my friend, since we both ordered coffee. I'm always searching by for cute coffee shops in Atlanta. I must say East Pole Coffee Co. is a hidden gem, if you don't use your GPS you may get lost. Lol. I must say this coffee shop is modern and beautiful. I love they fact that they have patio seating and a cool stadium like sitting out doors were you can chat with friends, study, or just chill. I've been to some coffee shops where the baristas were stuck up and not friendly but barista are welcoming and give you a warm welcoming. I definitely value great customer service. Unlike other recent roasts I've sipped on -- whether an espresso, cappuccino, Americano, or cold press -- this cup of joe tasted smooth (not too much acid or burnt-ness), perfectly intense/ bold, and slighty spicy. With the extra space next to the business spaces and pillows laid about, it makes it's a great space to enjoy a nice fairly priced coffee. A wonderful new addition to Atlanta. Five stars for coffee, 3 for food. Coffee- this is really very good coffee. Some of the very best in the city. We had the geisha pour-over ($6) and the chocolate milk drink. The chocolate milk drink is steamed chocolate milk and espresso. I am not a mocha drinker, but I would be if they all tasted like this. It was very smooth, not overwhelmingly sweet, and nicely balanced. The geisha was worth the extra dollar. It's thick and syrupy at the top but ends bright and crisp. Food- the food is fine but nothing I would want to eat again. We had the toasted poptart (which pales in comparison to proof's) and a banana Nutella coffeecake (which was close textured and bland). For me, a great cafe really needs both great coffee and great pastry. If they could find a better bakery they would easily warrant five stars. Ambiance- beautiful, simple, modern interior. The space is small, but there is a good amount of seating. I didn't notice many outlets, but the volume of music and conversation would make this ideal for working. Came here to get some caffeine after a red eye, and boy was it delicious! Seemed like it was in an industrial area, but there were a lot of people in the coffee shop just hanging out and working! I think it's in an office building There was a cool area outside with large wooden steps where people were hanging out too, as well as an outdoor patio which people were enjoying on a sunny day. The coffee itself was amazing - I got an orange cardamom sage latte which was perfectly sweet, and the flavors were sublime! My mom got a vanilla latte, and said it was the best coffee she'd had in a long time - and she's picky!! I also thought it was cool that they roast their own beans! Atlanta seems to be an ever-evolving entity. Or at least it feels like it because there are always spots that are opening up around the area and you are always on the hunt for the newest spot to simply veg out in. And there seems to be a race for who is the trendiest, hippest, coffee shop in town. Within Atlanta city limits, there definitely something brewing in the coffee world (no pun intended) between Octane (who seems to be giving Starbucks a run for their money as far as amount of locations), Brother Moto (who wins gold medal for both tasteful coffee and innovate business model concept), Starbuck (of course), and this place which just opened apparently. I found out about this place when I wanted to go to my favorite spot (Bro Mo). Unfortunately, after Irma decided to unload her rainclouds and get all hissy with her gale force 45 mph windstorms, Brother Moto was left without power for a few days which shut down business during that time. Being connected with them through Instagram, they recommended East Pole Coffee Co. I wasn't having it at the time. Then, I had some free time today and wanted to venture out again into the beast known as Buckhead and made it a point to come here. Tucked away in a growing industrial park in the Buckhead area, East Pole definitely has a handle on making it work. Grabbing out both an outdoor patio area plus carving out a nook within an unfinished industrial office center, they made a nifty little spot for coffee drinkers, business pros, and students alike. Again, I judge a place by their pour overs if they have it, otherwise, I'll opt for an iced coffee and they did have a pour-over but with this blend of Ethiopian, I wasn't too impressed by the flavor and definitely, the after-taste did not sit well with me. The only downside to this place are the hours or else, they'd be a definite 5-star shoe in. 7 am to 3pm on weekdays with open to 2 pm on weekends I think is a bit... deflating since I know people love a good cup of joe (decaf) into the night as a night cap after a good meal around the Lenox Square area. Definitely recommend this place but come early as you won't be able to spend as much time here or get here after work because they'll be long gone. read more

This place serves some solid brews. I stopped by while visiting Atlanta after getting several recommendations. I ordered the Cortado which is an even price of $3.50 and was very impressed with the quality and service. The building layout is open and modern with lots of seating and hangout spots. Bottom line: $7.50 for the worst chai latte I've ever had... and it was mostly ice... and I couldn't finish it. Fuller line: The young lady at the register was very nice (she is the star in this 1 star rating) and told us a little about the shop when we said we had finally made it in after wanting to for a while. They had oatmilk, which I was ecstatic about, and ordered an iced oatmilk chai latte.... $7.50. If I remember correctly, my jaw actually did drop. Perhaps it was the sheer shock of hearing the price that stunned me enough to actually still buy it. So mind you, the oatmilk added $1. Which means a NORMAL iced latte, only one size, is $6.50!! Yo man, I lived in L.A., go to N.Y. all the time, and have NEVER come across a $6.50 BASE latte, and it was small! No espresso shots added, no magic dust sprinkled in, just chai, milk, and ICE ICE ICE. So as we wait in shock face, I talk myself down by convincing the both of us that this WILL be worth it. That this WILL be the best damn thing I've ever had to drink. As we wait, we survey the seats; tiny. Tiny seats and tiny tables. So we wait by the bar. The too-cool-to-even-acknowledge-you barista dude slid the drink toward me, while looking across the room, said "Iced chai" and walked away. I say, "Thank you!" ... he's already gone. I grab the drink, we walk outside, I taste it, nasty. Imagine bitter, sour nutmeg. Drown it in ice, top with a little extra priced milk, pay $7.50, and don't even finish it. And I'm a woman of principal. "Oh, we paid damn near $8, we're gonna finish this!" Couldn't. But here's why I'm REALLY upset - anyone who knows this area (and I'm an ATL native) knows it has been going through a gentrification. Independent businesses come and say that they want to be part of the community, but then out price the community they are within. It's clear that they are catering to a very specific clientele. It's a shame when something that could be considered a beacon within a changing community chooses to exclude said community. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

One of my favorite places to grab a cup of coffee in the city. My partner and I stop here at least every other week to grab fresh beans to brew at home. They roast their beans on-site and fresh roasts are usually available for pick up on Wednesday mornings! The atmosphere is great, the baristas are very knowledgeable, and there is usually plenty of parking on the street. When Hurricane Irma blows through town and takes your power (literally, figuratively), a coffee shop is the perfect refuge! There's just something about that roasted bean smell to make you feel human again! Anyway, the day after the storm, a nice little crowd was gathered at the brand new East Pole Coffee to recharge their phones and rehumanize themselves. I always love to see the community supporting mom and pop shops - and especially during an actual natural disaster!
