I have and will drive 5 hours for this burger. The best, well within 5 hours of Dallas. The service, as usual was outstanding. Burger, outstanding and the basement and old typewriter factory ambiance is cool. Best burger I have ever eaten.

Great dinner selection and local establishment. The bar has a solid bourbon selection as well!

Ordered the mushroom crepe and tried the chili burger during my second time here and both were just what we needed during a Saturday afternoon. Didn't realize there was a basketball game later that day so it was absolutely busy. 30min wait for a table for 2. The staff works hard and fast to make sure the restaurant runs smoothly.

Not far from the University campus, below a dress shop, in the cellar is Hugo's. It's a very bohemian type of sandwich/hamburger shop. It can be hard to find at first if you don't know it is in the basement. At first I thought it was a college hangout. More accurately, I think it's a lunch spot for the local bankers and businessmen. You do see a few parents eating lunch with their college age children, but far more business people. Hugo's has those pilled high deli type sandwiches and juicy burgers. Their fries are very popular even though every sandwich comes with homemade chips. I had a tuna melt which was delicious and served on dark rye bread. My friend had Derek's Special which was a marinated chicken breast hoagie style sandwich. That was also excellent. Service is always friendly and attentive. One grumpy, non-smiling guy works the cash register at the bar. He probably owns the place. I really don't know. Hugo's is a legendary place. You have to try it. Maybe you can get the grumpy guy to smile.

The burgers were amazing! It is definitely worth the wait! The patties taste amazing! We ended up sitting at the bar and the service from the bartenders was great! This place is a must try if you're visiting Fayetteville! It's a great local hole in the wall! I'll definitely be back to Hugo's!

We came by for dinner after a long night and then followed up by a long afternoon on the road. And man, this stop was worth it! We started with the spinach artichoke dip. The chips were seasoned perfectly and the dip itself was delicious We both ordered different chicken sandwiches and split a basket of fries. The chicken was seasoned and grilled perfectly. And the fries were done off my fav! I love home style fries. Our bartender was awesome as well. It send we found a great local spot to grab a drink and a good meal. By the time we were leaving the place was packed. But the employees seen to have service figured out and they were able to help guests seamlessly

Hugo's is an institution in Fayetteville. Very cool spot right off the square. It's half a level below the street and kinda has "Cheers" TV show vibes. In addition to the cool atmosphere, the food and service was on point. Great burgers and fries were hitting!

Packed. This place was packed, so the service was a bit slow. The food? The cheeseburger was really good and well seasoned. It comes with potato chips. The fries were soggy. They need to up the temperatures on their fryer. The fries were limp. There is a possibility that they were cut fresh. If that's the case, they need to learn how to pre-fry, freeze and then fry again. It would make them crispier. This is in a basement of a building.

Possibly the best burger you'll ever eat in one of the coolest restaurants you'll ever visit. What a cool building! Always busy, but they get you in and out fairly quick and the service is great. Don't let the limited seating scare you away, and if you do have to wait, the food is absolutely worth it.

Visiting the campus for my rising senior and Hugo's was recommended. Checked it out online and felt it looked like a typical college burger bar. So glad we decided to stop and eat. Ordered App - Potato Skins. There were 5 to an order and I wish there were more. It came with Sour Cream, but I wish I would have asked for ranch. Pretty tasty. We ate everything and wanted more. Regular Cheeseburger - this was a dang good cheeseburger. Poppyseed bun reminded me of Jake's back in Dallas. Meat was great. Heck ya. I would come back and order again. Side of chips were good. Reuben Sandwich - normally my wife does not like marbled bread, but she really liked this sandwich. I had a bite and thought it was great too. Jalapeño Burger - my son loved it. Side of fries came hot and were delicious. Service was quick and the guy was helpful. We liked the music too.

Delicious

Consistency! I've been going to Hugo's for 36 years now and can say the food is consistent today as it was day one. I also have the Derek's special and the lemon mousse! The wait was worth the goodness!

Always good music playing including some 70's and 80's tunes I love. Great friendly servers, about 80% college age patrons, this place can get crowded and loud at times. It's no secret, there are plenty of 4-5 star bar choices around town, this is not the only one, but this one is worth the hop when on Dickson. On our most recent visit, I was especially impressed as Sideways hosted an event to collect toys / donations for the Northwest Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation. We love to participate in events like this and hope to see more, keep up the great community work!! When visiting, I suggest toting a Wicked Wood Fired pizza from Shulertown (food truck, about a block away) as Sideways doesn't serve food and you won't find better pizza anyhow...

When we first came in he was sitting at the bar in a Farrell's Lounge shirt and clearly drunk beyond description, so I assumed him to be a regular and didn't think any more about him until one of my friends returned from ordering, and was uncomfortable because he had been grabbing her shoulders. Looking over at him again throughout the night, it was clear he was more than comfortable to continue to do this to the other women at the bar. The bartenders seem unbothered by this obnoxious, drunk behavior. There is no way they didn't see this drunk man invading the personal space of the other patrons. Around 1:30, he stumbles to our table, and in a drunken slur, makes sure we're all tabbed out. He'd gotten some glasses earlier, but again due to his incredible drunkenness and inappropriate behavior, I thought maybe he just grabbed glasses and checked with patrons to help the bartenders. Anyway, while asking if we've tabbed out, he had some kind of grabbing tool and said if we weren't tabbed out we'd get, "a butt grab," and he then proceeded to use the grabber to grab at my chest, trying for my nipple based on where it landed. I gently pushed the tool away and said, "Don't do that." He laughed and tried to squeeze my nipple again, at which point my brother intervened and said, "He said don't do that." This belligerent drunk laughed and stared trying to grab my brother's nipple with it, so my brother tried to take the grabber from this drunk, telling him to, "respect other people's personal space." (I'm not paraphrasing here - my brother was angry, but could tell this man was wasted, so he was being neither harsh nor callous.) At this point, the drunk with the Farrell's Lounge shirt and the ponytail started to scream (and slur) at all of us, telling us over and over again to, "GET THE FUCK OUT." Again, because we didn't think he should be molesting us. We left but waited outside since we had one last party member in the bathroom while all this happened. The drunk opened the door and told us to go away. I finally asked, "Man, do you even work here?" The drunk in the Farrell's Lounge shirt with the ponytail responded very proudly (but not clearly), "Yes I do." While I was initially hoping for the "best", that this man who molested and cussed out my party was just a drunk that the bartenders irresponsibly overserved and refused to handle, that wasn't the case. The indescribably drunk man who ran his hands on one of my group, threatened us with a butt grab while grabbing for my nipple, and cussed at us for having a problem with that behavior is loudly and proudly an employee of this establishment. I've never had a staff member of any bar I've been to at any time in any city be so drunk, perverted, and rude. What a disgusting man. What a disgusting business to allow someone like this to work for it. It's clear from how emboldened he felt to behave this way, and how the bartenders refused any intervention, that this is just how Sideways operates. Obviously, I'll never be back and will make sure everyone I know who enjoys Dickson never comes here again
