I contacted Michael, the owner, who came out to inspect the damage. He told me he would repair it, but also said it was no longer under warranty and claimed the underlying concrete was the reason the cool deck was cracking. This was frustrating because they knew the condition and type of concrete before they completed the installation. About six months after the repair, the same area began cracking again, and this time the damage was even more noticeable. I reached out to Michael again, and it took about two weeks to get a response. When he finally came out to inspect it, he told me his crew would not return because the work was no longer under warranty, the repair was "too small," and the concrete--not their workmanship--was the problem. He also said his crew would rather redo the entire area than repair the damaged section because the colors might not match, and suggested I hire another company to fix it. When I explained that I believed they should stand behind their work, Michael became argumentative. He told me he didn't have to repair it because it was outside the warranty and that his company doesn't do touch-up work. The conversation escalated to the point where he began yelling, using profanity, and eventually hung up on me. This experience has been extremely disappointing. I invested a significant amount of money expecting a quality product and professional customer service. Instead, my deck began failing within a year, I received little support when problems arose, and I was ultimately told to hire someone else to fix their work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Altra Home Improvements. If you are considering hiring this company, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about their warranty, what happens if the product fails after installation, and how they handle customer concerns. I regret that I now have to pay another company to repair or replace work that should have lasted much longer.

Apparently, according to Mesa Insulation Specialists and Woodside Homes - zero is the right amount of insulation for a bedroom in Phoenix. I'm finally getting other quotes to just pay to have this insulation job fixed. Huge suprise that no one agrees with Mesa Insulation and Woodside homes. I eventually took a thermal camera - captured the heat signature of the spot without insulation and went around my house to take more photos. This was their reply to the places that matched the heat signature of the space with no insulation. Thankfully, other contractors have been able to assess the job without ripping out my drywall or waiting until my house will reach 73 degress (mid-November, usually). Copied and pasted from the email my builder relayed: In their opinion that this house is insulated properly. House has blown Insulation, There will be variance in color, due to insulation not touching the drywall. Even a small gap will reflect. The yellow lines are the framing. There is a lot of furniture, Photos, wall hangings, Television and Cans. These items will hold heat and cause the signatures. Pantry is full, there is not way to tell if the items on the shelves are holding heat. Page 2 photo, the can light appears to be reflecting against the batting. : For optimal testing, the home should have been at 73degrees. She states that To verify insulation, we would need to remove the sheet rock in the testing areas, they will not remove. She also stated that for Spray, they would need the drywall completely removed to inspect the insulation. Simple test: Drill hole in drywall Insert a Wire bent into a "C", like on a cloth's hanger. Once the "C' is inserted, if you can Spin the wire, there is no insulation. .

He arrived on time and went over my original concern, as well as took a look at a couple of others. He suggested not filling underneath the patio and provided referrals for structural engineers to get a baseline slab check being our flooring was recently replaced and old inspection from years ago was no longer valid. It's rare to have a privately owned local business not try to sell you something you don't necessarily need, as, well it affects the bottom line. This is why, if we ever do need Foundation work done, Cam will be the guy I call to get it done. Trusted is in their name for a reason.
