I'm not gonna lie, prices are higher than most major retailers, but they offer some of those specific/unique swim-related items that big brand stores typically don't carry. They do have Grab Bag bins around the store with gear that is 40-50% off the MSRP (which means you know it's high already), so that can help. Really, I think all school and city teams get their uniforms or sporting equipment at this store, that's why I can't understand why it's so small. If personal space is important to you, leave your qualms at the door before you come in here because you will be [ass] cheek to [ass] cheek with the other customers. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They do have the best selection of speedos compared to Dicks, Sports Chalet, and some other places I can't think of the names of off the top of my head. Thru the past 20 years it is my go to place to buy my workout swimsuits goggles etc. I recently put an order in for 55 shirts to get printed. The front desk who took my order treated me as if it was a 1000 shirts, she took the time to make sure it was perfect. I'm giving it two stars because they pulled through in the end BUT, I should NOT have to make a fool of myself to get quality service. My sons wore their swim team suits (bad quality from a non-brand name) ONE TIME. And they only wore them for pictures and a start clinic. One suit had a hole by the end of the clinic and the other was completely see through. So I drove all the way out to the store with the suits and my receipt but the staff could "do nothing" for me because it wasn't a "defect". I was told "well it looks like he sat down or it got snagged". Are you kidding me?? Of course they'll sit down at some point in a swim team suit especially at a meet in between races!! Now that is TERRIBLE costumer service. At least they could have come back with ok, we're sorry how about 50% of the price? Nope, they weren't going to do anything!! After ten minutes of back and forth it wasn't until I was halfway out the door threatening to write bad reviews did they say ok just get another suit no cost at all. For that I applaud them because $$ is not an issue in my family I can and will pay for good product but when I pay for something and it is trashed after one use I expect the seller to stand by their product without putting up a fight. I'm disappointed they are selling this non-brand name crap to swim teams and then when they fall apart acting like it was user error. I'm a no nonsense person and can be assertive if I need to be... My all time favorite sporting good store! They have everything! And if they don't have it they will either order it or figure out a way to get it. I've been shopping here for 12 years. I have 6 kids that are all very involved in sports. The customer service is awesome! You feel like family as they call you by name and pretty much know what you need for which kid according to the season of the sport. Under normal circumstances I would rate EVS with 5 stars. However, my recent experience with Jerry Hunt has been a nightmare to say the least. Let me provide some background. I have placed orders with other companies for Team stores (i.e Eastbay) I have never had a problem with an order until I placed one with East Valley Sports. I am utterly disgusted by the service I received from this one employee. I had called on numerous occasions to check the status of my order. I also informed the employee to CALL me when the order was ready and I would personally pick it up. The employee took down my information and he said he would call me. A little more background, I have placed an order for football cleats prior to this one. The school was able to deliver the football cleats to my son while he was on the bus heading to camp. (Which is crap) Needless to say, my son had to break in his new shoes at camp. He came home from camp and his feet were blistered and bleeding among other things. Now that I have provided a little more background. This is why I wanted to pick up the order I had PAID for. My son has a game tomorrow and we are NOT in receipt of any of the items I PAID for. The employee provided numerous excuses. The last excuse was to refund me my money. With the game tomorrow, how is this solution going to improve the current situation? A better solution would be to deliver the items I purchased to my doorstep TONIGHT! This a total shame. When my son was in track I never had a problem! I am always greeted at EVS when I go in person and love the customer service and the knowledge of the staff!! I am extremely grateful for those employees. EVS you have penetrated the market for athletic gear for schools. The high volume of orders placed is expected. I would think you would have a better strategy in place to handle the volume and meet customer satisfaction. This place is small and jam packed with sports attire. I had to take some deep breaths to keep my claustrophobia in check when I walked in. However... We came here to pick up our kids swim team swim suits for this season. When we walked in I first looked for someone who worked there to see if they knew exactly what suit we were supposed to get as it didn't say on the registration form (the reg for just directed us to this store). I didn't see anyone past the jam-packed store opening. I went off to the side and started looking through the swim suits to see if I could see anything directing us to what we needed...no luck. My husband spotted someone at a counter towards the middle of the store so I went to ask about the designated swimsuits my kids needed. The guy working was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about what my kids needed (size, how it should fit, care of the suits, etc). He was patient with us and didn't waste our time- we were in and out in less than 20 mins. While he went to the back to get a different size for one of my kids another sales associate came and asked if I needed any help, so that was nice. She was also very friendly and I noticed the next person she went to, she was helpful to them and did a great job answering the other customers questions as well. I should also add that once I got more acquainted with the store I noticed small stickers on the shelves next to the boxes of swimsuits that told which team they were for. Helpful...if I knew to look in that area. They supply so many teams with their uniforms- Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe. It would be really great if they could open another store that isn't so far into east Mesa. The store was busy, everyone getting their swim gear for the season, and with it being the only place to buy this stuff it felt a little crazy dropping over $60 for 2 swimsuits so I really hope they last all season. With the tips the sales guy gave, they should ... hopefully. East Valley Sports is a great resource for sporting attire and the sales staff is very kind and helpful. I would probably give 5 stars if the store was a bit more organized and if a sales associate would have looked for us in the beginning versus us having to look for him. Especially since we had to make sure we had a very specific swimsuit. Overall, great place! read more

Unparalleled customer service! EVS is our swim team store. Besides team gear and a few odds and ends (goggles, fins, snorkel, etc), until today we have always shopped online for her equipment needs. After our INCREDIBLE experience they will be our number one stop for all of our sporting needs! To make a long story short, my daughter has regionals this weekend and we have one cat shredded tech suit and 3 ordered online, of which none fit correctly. She was beyond upset and inconsolable until it dawned on me to call EVS and see if they could help. Tyler was incredibly knowledgeable and suggested we come on down and he can help her find a good fitting tech suit. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and the tech suit I asked about on the phone waiting for us behind the counter. Without exaggeration, my daughter tried on NINE tech suits because Tyler went out of his way to search for endless options to help us. He found her the perfect suit and the part that makes him and EVS even more special is that they close at 6pm and at 650pm my kiddo was still pulling on tech suit after tech suit. Jerry was also inconvenienced by us and stuck at the store, but he too was empathetic and never once rushed us. The prices were amazing so I strongly suggest that everyone with swim needs head to EVS without hesitation and you will be wonderfully surprised like we were tonight. Tyler, I cannot thank you enough for mending my kiddo's sad heart and showing me that there are people who understand how important this is to her.
