I was just encourage to order the muscles and got a bad one. I'm happy to pay and leave but I found it interesting that the waiter / bartender who suggested the muscles avoided all eye contact after I was served. He was quick To take away my full plate and never asked how it was or why I didn't eat it. I paid, left 20% tip but I would not refer anyone here for the food. read more

We went there during happy hour and ended up staying past the cut off time. When we got our bill at the end of the evening, it was higher than anticipated but we were in a hurry, so we paid it. We later realized that instead of charging 1/2 price on food and drinks ordered during the happy hour special and full price on the drinks we ordered after the happy hour promo ended; the bartender charged us FULL price on the ENTIRE bill. My friend and I went here to eat, and had a great experience. Full disclosure: my brother was our server. Hi name is Chris, if you go to eat and get him, make sure to tip him well. He will take care of you either way. With that said, the restaurant is less than 6 months old, but they are doing it right. The ambiance is modern, and clean. The whole crew was friendly and helpful. As always, the food is the most important aspect of the meal, and it was great. I started the meal with these mushroom arancini balls which were fabulous. I then had the cauliflower and hummus, and rice and beans which we shared for sides with our meal. I ended up getting the steak as my entree, which was in a delicious sauce, with broccoli rabe and potatoes. It was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, on the rare side, and tasted of quality. The broccoli rabe and potatoes had a great flavor that I cannot describe. My only qualm, and the reason for four and not five stars, was that the sauce was a bit too salty for me. The rice and beans were also not something I would get, though they weren't bad. We ended with bread pudding, something I would never get and have never enjoyed, and it too was spectacular, something I would certainly get again. I LOVED my lunch at Eastend yesterday. I started out with the fresh crab served with plantain chips and it was so delicious. If I lived in this area, I think I would come here weekly just for this dish. Then I had the corn ravioli which was also amazing. I had some fresh squeezed oj which rivaled the oj that I've squeezed myself from a tree in California. My husband enjoyed his corn soup and his scrambled eggs with bacon. One of my favorite spots on Greenwich. Beautifully decorated, fun music, and terrific food that has some good stand-bys for picky eaters (pasta, chicken, steak, etc) and then they always have a few items for the more adventurous eaters too. Cocktails are great (my favorite is the Steve McQueen). The bar gets a little busy (which can be good if you are looking for that); the food does come out relatively quickly (so easy to eat there with kids or if you are in a rush to see a movie at the Bow Tie, but want a decent meal first); and they don't complain if you want to change any of the current menu items to suit your tastes. Had dinner at Eastend last night. The food and service was acceptable. However, shortly after paying our bill and tipping waiter 20%. The manager came to our table and asked if we wouldn't mind leaving the table because there was a very pregnant woman that needed to be seated for dinner. We quickly got up and watched as he seated 2 young couples at our table, NOT PREGNANT!!! This has NEVER happened to me or to the two other friends I was dining with EVER!!! SO so RUDE! I wonder if we weren't 3 women if the manager would have had the nerve to pull such a pathetic stunt!!! Several other tables that were couples were not asked to get up. The pork (again me, with the pork, I know.... what can I say, it's my test of a place!) was amazing. A pork chop just barely medium (the way I specifically asked) over a celery/spinach/garlic sauté.... just delicious and well done. My brother had a great burger of some kind that was prepared just as requested and didn't disappoint. Despite being a very busy Thursday night they were happy to let us linger and talk. Drinks were perfect. Charcuterie was excellent including a probably chorizo of some kind but uncased so I could happily layer it onto the grilled bread piled (sac religiously) with two cheeses and other meats. Oh and the (what I think was) house made gardeniera.... woah!!! Nice touch! Perfect. Service was good, not pushy.... helpful but not lingering and absolutely attentive. Excellent pick! Happening bar scene too... definitely could have continued having fun there. read more

I came here with a friend after work to for a drink and some small plates. The bar area was crowded for a Tuesday night so the server sat us at a table in the back. We were given menus and the server mentioned that it was happy hour going on at that moment and we asked what was part of the happy hour. He mentioned the house wine along with a few other options. That was perfect, so we both ordered a glass of the house wine. My friend had the side of the caramelized brussel sprouts and I tried the Spa salad with chickpeas,avocado,edamame, and yogurt herb dressing. Both small plates were delicious. When our check came, it was $65! I couldn't believe for 2 wines and 2 small plates of food? I looked at our bill and we were charged $16 each for the glasses of wine. I asked the server how is this happy hour pricing? He said "oh happy hour is only at the bar." Why would you tell someone who is sitting in the dining area and whom you also sat in the dining area, that it's happy hour and to order something during happy hour? When clearly, you don't get happy hour specials sitting in the dining area. I won't be back to this place again. read more

Otherwise good food (appetizers good, pork chop ok, steak tacos not so great), is somewhat spoiled by an incompetent bar tender (women with red hair). Her habit of stirring small pours/cocktails in ice, before pouring on top of even more ice, gives you the allusion of ordering flavored ice water instead of an adult beverage. Upscale restaurants should offer a good around experience, and the lacking bar tending makes Eastend fall short. read more

Update (March 2017): My wife and I went back to East End this weekend to celebrate her birthday and had another top notch experience. Chris (the GM) actually recognized us from our visit a few months earlier, which we were impressed with. Our first time at East End we ate and drank at the bar, but this time we sat in the dining room which was lively. Every table was occupied from when we arrived at 7:15 until we left shortly after 9pm, yet the meal was well paced and we never had empty glasses. I'm a bit surprised to see some negative comments on here about the service, but having now eaten at the bar and in the dining room I would definitely say the service is a positive from my experience. As far as the food is concerned, we've yet to find a weak link. We repeated the pork belly and veal meatball appetizers, which are must haves. We also tried the mushroom ancini and tuna tartar, both of which were excellent. We shared the pork chop which was flavorful and moist. Hopefully the owners will consider opening another location is Southern Westchester. Scarsdale Village could definitely use a place like this! read more

Nice new addition to the avenue. Great and near excellent service. Food was quite tasty. Menu is broad so plenty for any tastebud. Desserts were good as well. I will go again. Mid to high price range. Need reservations. Crowd of after work hedge funders to Grey flannel suits and tables of women seeking both. All in all a fun evening with people watching to entertain. Great bartender- used to see him at Prime in Norwalk often!! Maitre'd is a bit pretentious but its only 5 seconds then you sit; no biggie. There used to be a brunette girl who was fantastic but I believe she is in another location now. (Z hospitality) Not a big fan of the salads here but I'll try another next time. the steak is phenom. The chicken is amazing. Loved the tartare and the pastas are always fantastic. Service is good, tbar crowd is v cool. The strawberry cocktail they make actually makes me crave it,and I'm not a big drinker They have a great wine selection but I have to add that they have a very uncommon dessert which happens to be my own favorite and it is fantastic. Our waiter was rude, clearly frustrated that we weren't on "his schedule" and used lame excuses like "the chef likes the order a certain way" when we asked to order appetizers first and entrees after. Eastend was a great pick for a small holiday dinner with colleagues. The management was pleasant and accommodating as I put the plans in place and the evening went smoothly without issue or complaint. Our group of 10 was seated at a nice long table and the service was stellar. It was likely clear from the beginning (expensive wine and a generous order of starters for the table) that we were there to seriously eat, drink and be merry, so we had the full attention of multiple servers and staff. Based on the other reviews I've read, I think it's unfortunate that the same care isn't extended to all patrons - but my own experience was nothing short of wonderful. The bourbon glazed pork belly was a standout for me, but the group raved about both the veal meatballs and bacon sweet potato croquettes. The calamari disappeared quickly and the lump crabmeat was a fresh addition to the first course. As we were deciding on main courses, our waiter asked if the group would like a second course of pasta. Knee deep in my second (or third) cocktail, I quickly declined - we had eaten so much already! - but I do wish I had asked what he had in mind as the suggestion seemed a bit off-menu. Instead, we enjoyed a brief respite (table cleared promptly, more wine more wine) before our entrees arrived. Seven of us got the halibut (nice, but unremarkable) although everyone had eyes on the lone spicy lobster spaghetti - whose owner seemed quite pleased. The dessert menu is outstanding. Thanks to a heady mix of vodka, curiosity, wine and amusement, I ordered the Baked Alaska. Maybe not the best choice (the more traditional desserts looked so so good), but the right choice. I mean, how often do you see Baked Alaska on the menu? While I probably won't be back on my own - personally, I like restaurants with a bit more edge and character - I have added Eastend to my short list of spots that I recommend to co-workers and professional acquaintances. An absolutely divine experience! We walked in just over an hour before closing on a rainy Sunday night and were hospitably greeted and placed at a table. The decor is upscale but not pretentious. They have an excellent wine list, an assortment of bourbons, beers and some signature drinks. While there did seem to be a tiny bit of a language barrier between the waitstaff at my table and us they did answer our questions as friendly and best they could. The food was delicious! I wanted to never stop eating. Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned and at the right temperature. My extremely restaurant discriminating date was thoroughly pleased. I've had only positive experiences in the past but went with a friend on Friday. He had the crabmeat appetizer, got food poisoning and vomited all night. When I called the manager the next day, he said that he was sorry but offered nothing else (I'll be sure to check the supply in the kitchen, for example). The trio of middle Easter appetizer they charge $22 for comes with the smallest amount of dip. The black and blue fries are so over cooked and just not appetizing at all. Stopped by this "new" place (for us) in Greenwich while strolling Greenwich Avenue on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. To our great luck, it was 15 minutes before 3:00 -perfect to have brunch, outside overlooking the avenue and watching all cool cars go by since it was Concours de Elegance show weekend. The food is fantastic. Fries are the best and the strawberry bellinis were so yummy. We tried the crispy cauliflower, avocado toast, lobster roll and chicken sandwich - all were really yummy! As we have seen in this space with the previous occupant, (who lasted less than a year) allowing your restaurant to become overcrowded where you do not come close to honoring your reservation times and then deliver mediocre food with subpar service will only lead to failure. And Eastend is well on their way. As with any new Greenwich restaurant, everyone wants to try it and instead of handling the crowds respectfully, you are left waiting at the bar for at least 30 minutes for your reservation. Meanwhile it is hit or miss finding someone at the reception table so you spend your time waiting for someone to seat you. After half an hour we finally were able to track someone down who apologized and sat us as there were then numerous empty tables. I suspect if we didn't search for him we would still be waiting at the bar. After we sat down we were met by a bald gentleman who looked and acted as if he should be working in a diner. In a place like this how about hiring people who actually appear as if they belong? He came to take our order and as we began ordering items that they apparently no longer had that night he only then informed us of certain items no longer available. From that point on someone else took over and the service improved. As said previously, the food is mediocre at best. The bottom line here is if you're looking for a place to meet people at the bar with decent drinks then this place is for you. Otherwise don't waste your time. If they don't fix this quickly they will be gone very shortly. Remember, the previous tenant Primary was very busy for the first few months too. We all know what happened there. read more

Extremely rude manager. Upon walking into the restaurant the manager said something snarky about my fiancés hat (which happened to be a very nice Stetson cowboy hat). I believe he said "nice hat that was so last year." Then he refused to serve drinks to him because the "bartender observed him swerving to the bathroom" which absolutely did not happen. We walked in together and with a friend sat down to a table. He never once used the bathroom and he certainly was not intoxicated. Unfortunately he was targeted and wrongfully accused of being "too intoxicated to order a drink." This was supposed to be a nice occasion where I was excited to introduce all of my friends to my fiancé, but after the way we were treated it ruined an exciting moment. We ended up leaving and ordering drinks and desserts at the Mediterranean restaurant next door and were treated wonderfully. Luckily, my fiancé is a lawyer and we will be seeking justice. The moral of the story is a manager shouldn't abuse his power to not serve guests. And before you accuse someone of being too intoxicated to order a drink, make sure you have your facts straight and are not just targeting someone for no reason. read more
