Regretfully, Sinai Mortuary is not listed on TrustPilot so here is the Review (my second)…read more Regardless of the nice words, Sinai Mortuary is a business like any other. As such, they don't feel the obligation to be sensitive to those who need them in their worst hour. Burial services for my husband were a botched event. Prayers were still being said when the crew were pushing the tent away. We could not hear the prayers for the noise and interruption. Those attending the services were asked to move away to give way to the truck bringing the awful-looking cement block that should have been placed on the ground, over the coffin, when no one was there. (And what was that for??). However, we all had to give way to the truck carrying this enormous cement block and were made to watch as it was dumped over the casket. I cannot shake that image from my mind - my husband's casket pushed down by that horrible white piece of cement. When all this was happening, the mortuary's representative was nowhere to be seen. Just another day at the office. For the price charged, one would expect more dignity, more respect, more attention, more caring, if feigned. If you are Jewish and ever need a mortuary, try and find another. Will be cheaper and could not possibly be less sensitive than Sinai. P.S. After posting I see the Review shows three stars. I added one, just so the Review could proceed. Also, I do not live in San Francisco, CA. Don't know where this information is coming from.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone, including and especially when coordinating arrangements from out of town.

My dad was so comforted by the way they cared for her that he told us he wanted to be cremated there as well when his time came. When we recently lost him, we handled everything over the phone, and even from a distance the staff's kindness came through clearly. They were patient, understanding, and incredibly respectful throughout the entire process. Every conversation felt personal, never rushed, and they made sure we understood each step. Even without walking through their doors, we felt supported and cared for. What meant the most was how consistent their compassion was -- years apart, for both of my parents. They treated our family with genuine warmth and professionalism, and it brought real comfort during two of the hardest moments of our lives. I'm deeply grateful for the care they provided, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a funeral home that truly understands how to support families with dignity and kindness.

Quarterly, we made sure to spruce up the flowers and clean up the stone a bit. Additionally, my dad would periodically take me to visit his brother's grave, though with the nature of his passing, it was always a harder visit. Sadly, as the years have passed, more of my family reside here. My Nanny passed very suddenly. Cancer diagnosis on a Wednesday and passed on a Friday. In 2006, the family found themselves quickly making accommodations that were unexpected. My grandpa said it was a pretty easy process, and he appreciated being able to future purchase to be buried with her. This made it incredibly easy when he would pass 8 years later as my aunt would take care of those accommodations without the financial burden. As for pricing, we all know it is not cheap to do so though I've heard it's fairly comparable to the surrounding area. The grounds have been well kept the last thirty years that I've frequented here, and my family has continued to chose this location as their final resting place. Thank you Mountain View for all you do to honor our loved ones!

There's only so much that you can really say about a cemetery/funeral home, right?…read more Well..... The grounds are well kept, there is plenty of parking, and most of the staff is very compassionate and friendly. I will mention that one receptionist in particular was very rude to my mother when we arrived. My Mom began to make her way toward the service we were attending and the woman at the front desk was very snippy with my Mom and told her not to go near the room where the service was being held. She said "It's not ready yet, the family is still setting up!!" My mom asked if she could just sit on the chairs outside the chapel and wait for them to finish setting up, the lady said "NO" with lots of attitude and frustration. I was completely beside myself on that type of behavior! So we sat in the front lobby on the chairs provided. There are 4 chairs in the main lobby, which suited our needs. Just when I thought I had already seen it all, the same woman gets up from her desk and storms over to the chapel area where the service would be held.... Muttering under her breath, walking briskly, and pulls the doors closed... Then continues back to her desk to sit down. I'm not sure if this is her normal behavior, but it could be argued that her personality type doesn't exactly jive with the typical crowd that attend a funeral home.... They also offer water bottles to guests & have a snack machine in the lobby. There are several rooms available for funeral services, which are spacious and comfortable. I will say that I was surprised to see that the pews are not bolted into the floor... I used the back of the pew to help myself up after a service & it disturbed the bench in front of me... That was embarrassing. All in all, the place is exactly what you'd expect. Aside from the rude woman that greets you as you enter the building. We have many relatives that are buried here & others that have been cremated. Aside from Fridays experience, I have never had a complaint about my encounters here.
