From the moment we arrived, every funeral director we interacted with was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely empathetic. We were overwhelmed, and they made us feel supported every step of the way. We worked closely with Megan, who was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to clearly explain everything without ever making us feel pressured or rushed. She respected our family's wishes and never tried to upsell anything, which meant so much during such a sensitive time. Losing a loved one is never easy, but having a team that truly cares makes all the difference. I would highly recommend Valley of the Sun Mortuary to anyone in need of compassionate, honest, and professional care.

The reason why I am saying "stolen" is that I used many plastic bags to secure the flowers so that no rain or gust would remove the flowers. Someone has to literally yank them to get them out of the vase. I made a report and a complaint to the staff there in the office. They provided me the contact information of the manager. She never followed up. It cost me a lot of money and a lot of time to find those flowers. The chance to find those special flowers is highly unlikely. I am pursuing further actions at their corporate level. This is totally unacceptable!

My dad was so comforted by the way they cared for her that he told us he wanted to be cremated there as well when his time came. When we recently lost him, we handled everything over the phone, and even from a distance the staff's kindness came through clearly. They were patient, understanding, and incredibly respectful throughout the entire process. Every conversation felt personal, never rushed, and they made sure we understood each step. Even without walking through their doors, we felt supported and cared for. What meant the most was how consistent their compassion was -- years apart, for both of my parents. They treated our family with genuine warmth and professionalism, and it brought real comfort during two of the hardest moments of our lives. I'm deeply grateful for the care they provided, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a funeral home that truly understands how to support families with dignity and kindness.

So me thinking picking a funeral home in Chandler by my house would be the best choice. Silly me because that was not the case. My first interaction with Tanecia was great she was amazing and made us feel great and comfortable. She let me know my mom should be ready by next week but she would be out of town. She made a note saying that we wanted her spilt up in 4s we all saw her make that note. I get a call saying her death certificate is ready but I need to make an appointment to go pick it up. So I waited on that but asked when my mom would be ready she just casually said 'oh I don't know she isn't even on the schedule" I gave it a few more days since that would be a week since we had her service. I call and they said oh it looks like we have to approve something on our end. I also mentioned again that she needs to be split up in 4s and she said I don't see that note but I will make another one. I was upset because I felt like they weren't checking in on Tanecia work since she was out of town. Another week passes and here I am again calling about my mom and this time I had to get a little more firm because why is it taking so long when you had to approve something on your end. Later that day I get a call my mom is ready. I head right over there because now it's been two weeks since this process has started not to mention I had waited a week just to have her viewing. So this is 3 weeks already. I get there and they bring me to a room and bring my mom's ashes and guess what it was not sperated in 4s. They take her back to do it and I just hear the workers in the other room laughing and talking loudly having a grand old time as in sitting wait again for them to sperate my mother's ashes. At this point I almost wanted to just do it because of the lack of trust I felt from this whole situation. Once they bring her back to me the girl said oh there was not a note anywhere. Which I told her I saw her make it and the lady I talked to a week ago also said she made a note. To which she said oh well it probably got lost. Like who defaults to saying it got lost . So you can't take care of an important paper for my mom and I'm supposed to trust you with her ashes. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had and I do not recommend this place at all. The only person that truly seemed to care was Tanecia. I get it this is just a "job" to some people but in reality it's not you are taking care of someones loved ones and you have to have the trust and care which they do not have.

While we already had a mortuary in mind, we had no idea which cemetery to use. I set up a bunch of meetings and planned visits within the days right after my mother had passed, and I was quite disappointed with most of those we visited. I experienced poor customer service, a cemetery that didn't see very well kept, an inconvenient place to visit or some other issue. When I came across Paradise Memorial Gardens, I was extremely pleased with how well they communicated, their excellent customer service, and the layout and ease of visiting the cemetery. I had reached out to Dan and quickly heard back from him. I had told him what exactly we were looking for in terms of a location, stone, and service, and he certainly rose to the occasion to ensure that we had the date and time of the funeral and later an unveiling. He explained the prices and answered many questions that my family members and I had asked. Dan was responsive whether we were connecting right before the funeral or in the months that followed when planning an unveiling. For such a stressful time, I was pleased to have someone we made a connection with to reach out to. The actual Paradise Memorial Gardens cemetery is laid out nicely. Instead of other cemeteries where stones are all sticking up out of the ground, many of the stones are flat on the ground where they blend in with the nature. My mother's stone is near a big tree, which provides some shade when I visit her in hotter months. There is a small lake where swans and Canadian geese like to roam. For an interesting story, ask the staff about the swans. There is also a heated and air-conditioned mausoleum onsite which I had been in only once when a friend passed away a number of years ago. There is plenty of parking on the side of the single street that circles the site. There are two entrances, one off of Shea Blvd and the other off 92nd Street. While I didn't use them, I heard good things about the Messinger Mortuaries, which is directly tied to the Paradise Memorial Gardens. I certainly encourage anyone looking for a cemetery (and possibly a mortuary) to check them out.

We have actually used this mortuary in the past and had a much better experience when working with a different funeral director. Unfortunately, this time was completely different, and the experience we had with Monica was extremely upsetting. Monica lacked empathy and did not take the time to guide us through the process or explain our options. We specifically requested a viewing for my mother-in-law, and later were told she was not viewable. This was devastating, especially because we were then told it was due to us not requesting embalming, something that was never clearly explained to us. As a grieving family, we didn't even know what questions we were supposed to ask, and we relied on the funeral director to walk us through those decisions. Communication was also very difficult. Monica was rude on the phone and did not show understanding or compassion. When we expressed concerns or asked about alternative options, nothing was offered and there was no apology. When we ultimately decided to switch to another mortuary, the only response we received was that we would still have to pay. The lack of care, guidance, and empathy added unnecessary stress and sadness to an already painful time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Tempe Mortuary to families looking for compassionate and supportive care.
