Losing someone is one of the hardest experiences anyone can go through. When my mom passed away in 2021, this funeral home handled her cremation with such compassion that it stayed with our family. Upon learning of my husband's passing, I was recommended by a friend to Wyman, which she had used for her dad's services and burial. Erica helped me and my mother in law through every part of the process, from making the arrangements for his cremation, to selecting the urns. I really like how they made this easy for my in-laws since they are from out of state. We asked many questions and were given the answers we were seeking without fail. The people at Wyman are very easygoing and comforting and talking to them about everything helped me a great deal in processing what I've been through and what I now have myself adjusting to. Alongside of getting an urn, I also selected a necklace to have some of my loved one's ashes in and I can wear it in his honor. They are very reasonable well within what a respectable funeral home should be. I work in a related profession and I cannot tell you how upset I get when I feel funeral homes are taking advantage. This is always difficult, but it can be made more upsetting when the person guiding you through the process is focused on selling you expensive upgrades, all the while applying undue pressure upon the grief stricken. This Burial Chapel has been sold and is now managed by a non-owner who is incompetent and uncaring. I was given copies of death certificates for my mother instead of the originals---which you must have. When I contacted the home, I just spoke with an employee and was told no managers were at the facility. I was also told that "too bad" about the non-original death certificates--=-we are under new management now. Pathetic. read more

My last review of the year is one of the hardest for me to write about. My dad died from complications due to a car accident. He was already too far gone when we got to the hospital. One of the coordinators at the hospital gave us a list of funeral homes and Wyman was one that was used by many people. Sam was the person who helped us with our father's arrangements. He was very kind and earnest. He was a calming presence, gave us frequent updates on how everything was going and delivered on any promises he made. Pricing was very fair and straightforward. Another funeral home we had called gave slightly better pricing but did not provide the warmth and compassion that Sam did on the phone when we called so that's why we decided to go with Wyman. It's always one's wish that your dearly departed is treated with the utmost care and respect and since a lot of the post mortem arrangements happen out of sight one of the only ways you can try to gauge whether this happens is by the interactions you have with the owners and staff. In that aspect Sam and everyone at Wyman that we talked to gave us the hope that our father's remains were treated with the same respect that we were given. I don't believe many businesses that aren't food related get enough reviews here. *Also, would like to express my deepest condolences to anyone going through a loss of a loved one.... never an easy time, but especially when your going through the motions of having Arrangements made. We recently needed to go through the motion of handling arrangements and it is tough. Allot of decisions have to be made, choices, ideas, etc... Than to add on the stress for over priced gauges, just because like any event including loss- there is a raise of price tag... which is disappointing and sad. Research showed, most mortuaries especially in the Phoenix region ( where we needed to search) shows a unrealistic increase especially from the start of Covid... which, is very disappointing. However, I have also learned most mortuaries still also get right down to it and answer any immediate question which for myself was the cost. From the phone call, you can gauge how the staff or company will respond. Are they kind? Empathetic? Have patience? It's already a difficult time, might as well pick the people you can lean on for help. Right off the bat, this place hit all the marks. Friendly, polite , answered the basic questions to reach a person to person meeting. Is this place perfect? No. Did any problems or issues rise? Absolutely. Did they handle the situation and tried to resolve the issue? Absolutely. Are we satisfied for the overall experience? Yes! So yeah, there has been some misunderstanding/miscommunication, but I also don't live in Phoenix and have been traveling back and forth. Overall, they really do work with you and strive to make sure the experience itself was a good one. No, they are not perfect, but the customer service is one of the main reasons why this review doesnt waiver from the 5 stars. Cost wise is pretty affordable. They are direct and up front. Answers any questions / concerns you may have and will attempt to reach you to make sure things are done correctly and accurately. After using Wyman's Cremation and Burial Chapel services for a number of times over the last 20 years, we needed to revisit with them for the loss of my daughter. It did not take long before we discovered they had new ownership. Unfortunately, with new ownership and new staff came horrendous, insensitive, frustrating, and very disappointing customer service especially when working with Ismael Herrera. During a time when we needed their professionalism and compassion, we were give insight to infighting and shortfalls of the inter workings of the staff by Mr. Herrera. This is unforgivable and we will never return! Our word of mouth concerns will continued to be echoed, so that any family needing services of this nature will not be subjected to this unprofessional and disappointing customer service. read more

Losing a loved one is hard enough and choosing a funeral home is just as difficult. Wyman was recommended to our family by our hospice social worker after they had reports of good experiences with them. The man, Steve if I believe, who transferred my father to the funeral home was very caring, informative, and respectful. They arrived within an hour of the hospice nurse placing the call. Upon meeting to set up arrangements at the funeral home, we were met with compassion and everything being throughly explained. Prompt phone calls were received before cremation took place as well as when dad's remains were ready. They were able to accommodate requests to have fingerprints taken as well as place pictures with my dad during cremation. They even had a deacon come and say a prayer before cremation. `When I thanked Danny for his kindness and consideration when he came to the house to pick up my mother after she passed, (we were lucky enough that my mom was able to pass peacefully at my sister's house through the help of Savior of Valley Hospice), Danny said something that must resonate with the way the company does business, "You never get a second chance to do it right the first time." [I apologize if I didn't get his exact words.] Every step of the way, they have been getting it right the first time. From the first phone call, to his coming out to the house, to subsequent calls and emails, Danny and Shai (I apologize if I'm misspelling her name) have been pleasant, kind, patient, and professional.
