From beginning to end the process of my exam, trying out two different types of hearing aids for several weeks and then purchasing my own was seamless. Eastside audiology is some distance from me. Eastside is a provider in the NEW HearingUp Network and have been verified by Dr. Cliff Olson and are committed to following Best Practices. They are in network so I decided to commit to the long drive while in their care over the next few years. The care and expertise from the team was amazing. Unfortunately it's been a billing nightmare for the last seven months. You would think that they would be familiar as an in network provider for Regence​ and that billing would be a smooth process. The billing department says they were informed by Regence​ that my benefit amount was 3,000 and that the Regence limit would not apply. My insurance company stated to me that they paid their contracted provider the agreed upon charges for the product and services. Unfortunately this is somehow a surprise to the billing department and they do not believe that they were paid as they thought they were going to be. Next Eastside Audiology tried to balance bill me for $2,500. Regence informed me this is not allowed from their in network providers in Washington State. Seven months later and this is still unresolved. I honestly wish that I had never gone with this provider. Now I understand that east side audiology would've offered me a lesser technology if they had properly understood their contract with Regence. I can't believe this and the next time I need a hearing aid I'll just go to Costco and have it programmed by a local provider. read more

OMG - I can hear again! I am so comfortable in these hearing aides that I forget I have them on! Eastside Audiology let me try several different types, usually for a week, and I found the PERFECT type for me. I can't imagine how much different my life would have been had I gone with the ones I THOUGHT I would like. I'd probably just put them in a drawer and drag them out when I was going to be in an important meeting.... During the test phase they worked with me to digitally program each aid to match the hearing loss in the proper ear, so each piece of equipment got a fair shot. When I finally chose the type I wanted, we went through a couple of styles, colors, etc., until I could choose the one I liked best. And THEN they spent over 2 hours with me during the next two weeks digitally adjusting each aid so that it was as nearly to my normal hearing as possible. Up with men's voices, down with high pitched tones, drown out the crowd and focus on the speaker. I even bought a little "surflink" which allows me to stream direct from my TV, Radio, Computer, or become a mic that I give to my translator during meetings in foreign countries. I'm sure you can get good equipment everywhere, but it is the time these folks took to personalize my settings and let me do extended tryouts of various units, that really made the difference! read more

We were referred here for a newborn hearing screen. We filled out the paperwork ahead of time, handed it to the front desk staff, and waited approximately 10 minutes for our appointment. The hearing screen was done, and when we were ready to leave, the front desk staff told us that she hadn't scanned our insurance card, yet. When I handed her the card, she told me they don't contract with our insurance company and that the visit would be private pay. As a medical professional, I found this to be extremely poor customer service. In the first place, this information should be given over the phone to save patients a trip to the office. Secondarily, this information should have been dealt with before the service was provided. We will not be back. read more

This audiology service is a breath of fresh air. The staff is personable, friendly and will do anything to make the experience there excellent. I've known Chris Borders, the owner, for at least 20 years, and don't think there's a more knowledgeable audiologist in the area. She's built this small business step by step and has become an important part of the downtown Issaquah business community. Hearing aids are exacting - either they are perfect or they are not and Chris and the others at Eastside Audiology make sure that the patient is well-served. It's a very carefully assembled staff - Peggy on the business side has been with Chris since the practice opened. Lesa at the front desk is truly welcoming and handles phone calls, visitors, patients in a personal yet professional manner. I am a retired College Professor who has been consulting Dr. Chris Borders now for 5 years. I know of no other audiology office that offers the kind and quality of service that she and her colleagues provide as a matter of form. My fitted ear pieces have lasted quite some time, and I report to her each year to have my hearing tested anew. She provides excellent advice as regards hearing difficulties and keeps ahead of her generic competition hereabouts. She, her colleagues and her Staff adhere to the Customer Service First principle that has become non-existent among other providers. Chris Borders the owner of Eastside Audiology is wonderful! After a few years of frustration with my moms hearing aide that didn't seem to be helping much, I decided to explore any possible option to improve my mom's hearing. Chris was so patient taking the time to give my mom the best outcome possible in regards to her hearing. For the first time in a longtime I can talk to my mom in person without being exhausted from talking so loud. I also can talk on the phone with her again which was becoming very difficult if not close to impossible. The whole office is so friendly and truly care about their patients . I highly recommend this office for anyone who wants someone who will work with them to find a hearing aide that gives them the best hearing outcome possible. The first time I met Chris was more than 20 years ago. That in itself has to tell you that I stick with the BEST! I have seen Chris advance herself as an audiologist over those years. The best part is that she has always been honest, trustworthy, educated (got her doctorate) and one of the best people I know. I hate to think of all that I would have missed if I hadn't found Chris. My life was sheltered and protective before I could actually HEAR. As a result I have been able to expand my career over the past years, with confidence. One of my main stumbling blocks was the use of the telephone. Without Chris's expertise I would not have been able to have a working career. I can only imagine how little I would have accomplished without being able to hear. As for her staff, Chris knows how to hire people that are just like her ... ready, willing, pleasant, caring, and always there for you. I travel quite a distance to go to Eastside Audiology, after Chris opened her own business in Issaquah. I just make a pleasant day of it and look forward to each time I go.
