After a trip last year, I started experiencing balance and vertigo issues. I visited my primary doctor who diagnosed it as an viral upper respiratory infection. While the infection went away, the vertigo did not. So I decided to see Dr. McGahey for treatment. I had not visited a chiropractor before so I did not know what to expect. We talked about my issues and then did an X-ray. Turns out my neck had lost its curvature so we began a treatment to restore it. The treatment has been successful and the pain related to it has been greatly reduced. Working with Dr. McGahey was good. He is very attentive and has good bedside manner. Though you should mention any areas of pain and issues you have between visits so they can be addressed. After all, it is your body and a health care practitioner works off the info they have available. I have since stopped treatment since I have improved enough that I can handle any issues on my own. Mostly with exercise. Though if I do have a bad flare-up, I would definitely consider coming back. The only caveat I will say with chiropractic treatment is the expense. I have coverage with Regence which covers a portion of chiropractic care, but there is still a co-pay and deductible I need to pay into before they start paying out. They also have a limit on chiropractic procedures. Once you reach the max, the procedures are going to be out-of-pocket. So make sure to check your insurance coverage before beginning treatment. Because insurance is involved, I received bills for treatment completed months earlier. In fact, some charges from half a year ago. I wish there was standard scale so it was easy to figure out how much you needed to set aside for medical costs. If you are looking for chiropractic care, Dr. McGahey is a good chiropractor that I would recommend. Though make sure you do your homework on medical costs before starting treatment. read more

I have been to lots of chiropractors in my life, and this place provides nothing that another chiropractor can't offer. But for the same care, they charged me double - triple the price! All of the other chiropractors I've visited have only charged me for an office visit, and they have the audacity to charge my insurance almost $400 per visit! So I had to pay $50 out of pocket every visit, which has only been 10 minutes each. I have only ever paid $20 per visit, and they are really just here to make money from patients, not to serve your medical needs. I am a local healthcare professional (acupuncturist) and started going to Dr. McGahey during my triathlon training to deal with my knee pain / leg length discrepancy, which would occur after long runs. McGahey is not my first chiropractor; I had seen another one awhile back and wasn't seeing results, but did get an incredible sales pitch when my insurance ran out. I've got mild whiplash from a bad day at the go-kart track, excasterbated by years of poor posture and working in front of multiple computer monitors; when it flares up, Keith is the only relief I can get. He has an amazing stretching technique that takes me from pain level 8 (nearly blacking out) to a "comfortable" 3. The 2nd visit after my flare-up, I was down to a 1. He's got a great attitude, and I'll miss chatting with him when I'm all fixed up. But I do wish he would renew his car magazine subscriptions (but that's what smart phones are for). read more

I could not recommend this place and Dr. McGahey's service. This place has very unreasonable and untransparent billing. There are a lot of hidden fees and the real cost was not disclosed until a series of appointments were completed. They intentionally did not send the bill after each treatment separately in hope for the patient will keep coming for the year without being informed of the extra costs. Even if you clearly consulted about the cost beforehand, they will offer you a wrongful promise, for example, only a minor co-pay, and then send a huge bill afterward. Moreover, the office has a very unresponsive billing department and bad communication. I can not reach the billing department either during regular business hours nor 5-7pm, the hours that reception told me to try at. I left a voice message but no one returns. I voiced my concerns via email but nothing has changed. All in all, do yourself a favor, avoid this place at all cost. read more

Dr. McGahey diagnosed and completely cured my chronic plantar fasciitis. He determined my fasciitis was due to shin splints and used Active Release Therapy and Graston to target the source of my foot pain. I had this condition for 2 years. When I finally decided I had to do something about the pain in my back, my daughter suggested Dr. McGahey. I am so happy that I took her advice. I could not ride in a car without crying out every time it went over a bump in the road. I could not stand up straight when I got out of my chair at work to walk around the office. I could not sleep at night because of the pain in my back; go to bed at 11 pm and be up in the chair sleeping by 2 am. This was my life, such as it was. Now, my son-in-law is happy that I do not cry out when he is driving and he does not have to say bump before he goes over one when driving, I can sit in my chair at work and get up and move around freely, and I am able to sleep much longer during the night. Awful experience!! Be aware guys. Don't go there and ruin your integrity and credit!!! Dr Keith is nice but unfortunately surrounded by lazy and unprofessional people. I went to Eastside group last July 2014. I had 5 sessions. They informed me that they deal with my insurance. They billed it but all the claims were denied ; it turned out that they were not in my insurance network. I am eligible for 10 free sessions. Why would I go to a Chiropractor who is not within my insurance network? First disappointment :( :( :( For the entire year, I have not received any bill from the Eastside Chiropractic Group. I was wondering why they never billed me. Last month I receive a message on my voice mail asking me to call back. I called back immediately. Nobody picked-up. I left a message on their voice mail that I am returning their call. To my surprise, today I receive a call from a collection company for a recovery. It is a very small amount. They were too lazy and unprofessional to check their voice mail or to get in touch with me whether by email, phone or mail. It was easier for them to pass it for collection, ruin my reputation and my credit. Thank you Eastside Chiropractic Group for respecting your patients and for your professionalism. I am not sure if Dr Keith is aware of what is going on in his office as this negligence may affect his business big time. The worst disappointment is that when I called the billing department to discuss the issue, they did not even apologize for what they did. He provided Active Release with Chiropractic Adjustments and Kinesio Taping. He first took some xrays and a Motion picture of my neck. He pointed out an issue in (C7) my neck from 15 years ago. I started seeing Dr. McGahey following a very painful injury which involved my neck, upper back and shoulder. Immediately after the injury I sought treatment from a chiropractor I had been going to for years but had little change in my condition after six visits. I decided to research other treatment options and was so happy to find Dr. McGahey who treats both joints and soft tissue - the total injury rather than just part. In just a few short weeks I am back to my old self (actually better because Dr. McGahey has also done work on my hands to help eliminate carpal tunnel type symptoms). I'm a believer in chiropractic care but this experience has taught me that there can be a big difference between chiropractors, treatment techniques and outcomes. Additionally, Dr. McGahey seems state of the art - he even has a motorized adjustment table so you don't have to try and negotiate around a stationary table when you're in pain.
