There were a bunch of wings on the ground outside our back door (under the porch light). I was concerned that it was carpenter ants. Eastside Exterminators was a company that my mother-in-law referred me to. She was right--these guys are pros. The guy came out and talked through what I was seeing. He sprayed around our whole property just in case, also he answered all my questions as we walked around. Overall, it was a great value. Stay away!! I called them to help with possible rodents going into the house from the vents. They came up with an extensive list of what they're going to patch, and marketed their work as very professional. To my surprise, they ended up stapling mesh all over the house in a very messy way and billed me 10k for it!!! If I had known they'd be stapling mesh, I would have gotten any handy man to do it for much cheaper. Total scam and not trust worthy! I called and sent emails to complain and all they did is give me 800$ out of 10k back!!! Check out the picture! Rats!!! They arrived in our crawl space and we couldn't get rid of them. They destroyed our crawl space ripping out the insulation, peeing and pooping on everything. We called Eastside Exterminators and they took of them. They set out traps under and around our house. They set our poison in our crawl space. After a few weeks all the rats had died. They tore out and replaced the insulation under our house and laid down a layer of plastic over the dirt. We haven't had a rat in years! read more

I rarely give reviews, but the service I received from Eastside Exterminators on 10/8/20 was subpar. Originally when I booked my appointment it was for Ant Inspection, so that was what I was expecting. So when Tim, our inspector came on 10/8, I didn't suspect anything wrong. He then informed me that when the inspection was complete that it was for rodent inspection and that I would be charged. Not only was I charged for the service, I was told that I would have to arrange for the Ant Inspectors to come and be charged again. I am incredibly disappointed. I would expect that a reputable company would be able to send out the right service professionals, and at the very least, confirm the service that they had been sent out for prior to the inspection. This is a training issue. Both in the intake process and during the service. My recommendation is that anyone who uses Eastside Exterminators double and maybe triple checks the service they are signing up for prior to inspection. read more

The situation: I'm trying to sell my house and the buyer we were under contract with found rats when the house inspection was done. The initial bid to get rid of the rats was really high, so my realtor suggested I find alternate companies to see if I can find a cheaper one to counter the buyer's demands. I called Eastside and they sent out a tech within two hours and he seemed thorough and knowledgeable. He spent a long time above and below the house, got lots of pictures, explained everything that would need to be done. It all seemed on the level, but since we were offering to pay for the service as part of closing I couldn't hire them right away. The buyer kept paying companies to come in and give bids on the rat problem and, as a result, one of the other exterminators coming in asked if we had hired Eastside for a bid. I said yes and they explained that I should know that there were rat traps with dead rats all over and that it's "typical" of Eastside to do this because they want you to pay them to come back. Sure enough, my house started smelling like death within a few days. I contacted the Eastside tech directly, asking for him to pick up the traps and he ignored my email. So, I filled out the review request from Eastside asking if I was happy with their service, and asked them to come get the carcasses. They ignored me. Finally, I called and spoke with someone who told me that leaving traps is part of the inspection so I needed to PAY THEM to come get the traps. Evidently, they stick the warning about the traps in some email they send (that I never got) so they don't think it's their responsibility to tell you when they're actually leaving the traps. I had to threaten to leave bad reviews on every website I could find, but after I got mean, they got a tech out the next day to collect the rats and my house already smells better. The techs I dealt with were both very professional and nice, and the manager I ended up speaking with was nice. The woman I spoke with about the traps was terse but she was professional. Overall, it was not a good experience and I wouldn't hire them. read more

Terrible customer service, tried to charge us for pest exclusion even though we have a monthly service and have for four years! Don't fall for their customer trap, they will nickel and dime you on everything. Better not doing a monthly service as we just discovered and pay ad hoc when you need them. HUGE waste if money, very disappointing. All they do us show up and walk around with a spray can outside and put some traps down on the ground. As soon as you notice something though they try to come back and tell you its an extra charge. Our family had a smelly crawl space and the stink was leaking into our basement. We called a company to clean out the space and they said nope! You have digging rats and you need a rat slab. A what? A rat slab. We had dirt crawl space floors and the rats were tunneling in. UGH! They recommended EE. EE sent someone out immediately and they gave us a thorough inspection and showed us all of the spots the rats were getting in. We got an estimate of work to be done (I'll admit, it wasn't cheap, but hand-pouring a cement floor into crawl spaces is not a job for me) and we hired them. They were professional, efficient, were very clear with me what they needed from me (alleyway access for trucks, etc) and I was just impressed with their crew and service. They got the work done really quickly, too. We had the exclusion work done on our house and the slab poured and then insulation installed. They took care of it all. Thrilled. Thank you! read more

About 8 years ago, we had an ant infestation in our basement and I called to discuss the problem and solution. I was concerned about the products they used and how they might affect not only the vegetation around the outside of my home, but also my indoor/outdoor cats. They assured me their products were safe and explained about the ingredients. Since then, they've been on a bi-monthly schedule and we haven't had the ants return. They always ring the bell to announce their arrival and to discuss any issues we have. They are very good at explaining about seasonal pests, including what they're doing to combat issues like stink bugs in our area. We're long time happy customers and will continue to use their services as long as we live here. read more

We paid thousands for rodent exclusion work. When they came back to check their work, they said mice were still getting in and wanted to charge us to replace the insulation that was damaged AS WELL AS charge us to complete the exclusion work we paid thousands for. They do not stand behind their work, obviously. Nobody cared that they didn't do a good job. Waste of thousands of dollars, do not use them. Zero stars if I could. read more

We pay $75/mo for a subscription to this company. However, it's continually unclear what services we're getting right now, who our tech/representative is, what our options are and their price, and the actual evidence base for anything the exterminators are doing. Despite paying for services on a regular basis and scheduling multiple inspection visits, it seems like every pest issue we've had (wasp nests, mice) are strictly a reactive rather than proactive process and has resulted in either additional charges or a further increase to the subscription charges. There's also an especially strong push from salespeople for radical, costly measures such as tearing out all the insulation (what do you do when a mouse poops on the insulation again?) to push gimmicks like rodent detection sensor that apparently cannot be used with modern technology such as car key fobs. While we thought we were getting a local company, it's been a neverending carousel of different people with limited continuity regarding any of our problems. I still don't know what, if anything, is being sprayed on my land/house! read more

We just had Eastside Exterminators clear, clean, sanitize and re-insulate our crawl space. They did an excellent job! It was a 3-day process and everyone who worked on our home was outstanding! I have to specifically compliment Nicholas Gonzales and brothers Juan and Jose (with Eastside Insulation). All three of these gentlemen worked very long hours, were friendly and professional. I could not have asked for better service!!! I highly recommend Eastside! Note: Not one of these individuals requested that I give them a good review. It seems that all of the recent services we've had end with the employee asking us to give them an "excellent review". These guys made no mention of this and I very much appreciated it! read more

I have been extremely disappointed working with Eastside Exterminators on a rodent issue for a townhouse that is part of a multi-unit. The first red flag was when I had to wait nearly a week before I had to call them to inquire for an update from the rodent inspector. Only when I called did I get a timely response. A week later no response, so I emailed them yet again asking for an update. 4 days later and I'm still hearing nothing from this company. Absolutely unprofessional and I will no longer work with this company after the rodent extermination is resolved...if it ever gets resolved that is. read more

Absolutely horrible company and horrendous customer service. We used this company for over 4 years for general pest control, both inside and outside of our home. During our last visit, the person said that they had sprayed multiple wasp nests developing under the eaves of our house. When we continued to see wasps in those nests, we called to confirm that they had actually been sprayed. It took them 3 weeks to return our phone calls requesting to have someone come back out to actually spray those nests. During that time, we canceled our service, since we were effectively paying them for not doing their job. Once a manager did finally call us back, they informed us that because we canceled our service, it "negated our warranty", and they would have to charge us to come back out. Absolutely ridiculous. Between that, not actually inspecting our attic (beyond the 10 feet they could see from the entrance), and poisoning our dog because they dropped a rat poison block in our yard, we're happy to be rid of this company for good! read more

Andrew was the man to show up, my knight in shining armor, and instantly got to work. Excellent customer service over the phone. Was easy to set up appointment. Husband and I just bought our first home and I'm set on not finding giant house spiders in our house!! Alex is our friendly home service guy. He came out and we walked around the house as he explained things to watch out for and future pest prevention. He was SUPER knowledgeable and made me feel good about our decision to go with this company. I'm very happy with the results. He comes out every 3 months to keep everything up and sends me the invoice. We haven't had any bugs in the house, other than the occasional tiny fly who gets in from letting our dog in and out. I have used partial service not full, basically i got an inspection for rodent activities. It was Robert showed up, timely, this morning, and he was really kind and informative about the process. He set the right expectation, as to what will the process cover, how long typically it takes, what should be the process after the inspection report He checked roof, attic, garage space, perimeter of the house and finally crawlspace. He was really thorough in his work, he also explained to me the issues and fixes to be done. I also learned why foam is not a good insulation overall, when it comes to mice, as they can easily chew that up and throw and get inside the report was super detail, with all the pictures taken, there was a page about the layout of the house and where all issues are located. Im impressed about the quality of the inspection The part that i was not so much happy (that is why it is not a 5 star), super pricy comparing to some other options. Both for exclusion and insulation work, i was asked to pay much more than my monthly mortgage :( But overall, i am happy about the thoroughness, and specifically Robert seemed a dependable person. But i didn't go with their exclusion work and rest . === update: I got the exclusion work done, and also signed up for the bimonthly service some time ago. this morning i got a charge on my credit card. I didn't get any invoice , and now i am charged for something i dont know about. I called in EE, spoke with someone in billing, i guess her name is Kim She can be be any further from customer friendliness. She kept telling me yesterday they came to the house and checked the perimeter. But i didn't get any in advance call or email or any other notice. I was home whole day , didnt see anybody in the house. I have a recording camera, will search it tonight. Also there is no report sent to me, showing what inspection is done at the end of two months. I would NOT recommended doing service with this company. Their Pest Protection Program is misleading. We had a full crawlspace clean out including new insulation, HVAC venting and two rounds of exclusion work because they misquoted the first round. We paid these guys $19K in March of 20016 for this work. I would also note that the HVAC work was not to par and my vent cleaning company had to reseal many of the seams and joints and re wrap many of the ducts. We have been loyally paying the bimonthly $150 fee since then with a few minor calls for wasps. I have been approached by multiple other pest companies to set up service however I have stuck with Eastside due to the warranty despite the other competing companies lower prices. I am so disappointed, this week we had some activity that god awful scratching in the walls in my sons room. I called Eastside they came out within 24hrs but also moved my bi-monthly service at the same time of $150 the technician said we had minor burrowing so he needed to consult with his exclusion manager he left 4 glue traps and bait. Next, I get a call on a recorded line from a scheduler telling me it would cost $149 for them to come look and inspect at the exclusion work I already paid for and THEY did! A few months back when they came out they did not charge or find anything so I am assuming these are new fees that I was not notified of until now. This time they want more $$ and basically said the Pest Protection only covers bugs wasps and rodent traps. WHY HAVE I BEEN PAYING THIS COMPANY $$900 a year??? Yes it says burrowing is excluded in the contract BUT they knew there was burrowing when they sold us the clean out service and yet they falsely misled us into thinking if we ever had another rodent situation under the house we would be taken care of. This past 24hrs has been a run around and series of phone calls with a rude receptionist and unhelpful exclusion member Javier who basically said pay up. We are not unreasonable people we are fair people we simply expect what we pay for in this case I would expect Eastside to come out as they have before, inspect the work they did in March of 2016 bait and trap the crawlspace stop the rodents from coming in & if they do kill them tehn repeat every few weeks until the issue resolves. The PNW is full of rodents this is their home, I reasonably expect they will get into crawl spaces sometimes BUT if we hire a company to help us monitor the situation and we are consistently paying we expect our home to be serviced when we have a situation. If however new entry points are discovered that were not previously corrected we would gladly pay. The company new about the borrowing when they sold us the service and contract, yet Jake verbally said keep the contract and we will make sure pests don't get up into your house. He said with borrowing it can not 100% be resolved unless you get a Rat Slab for 20K which of course they would happily do and if we keep the contract we can keep the rodents from getting out of the crawlspace and into your home by regularly checking on the crawlspace and using rodent traps. They go into the crawl space once a year I was irritated with this initially but they said if you hear something call us. So I did and this happened. I will be surprised if this company survives doing business like this we gave them a chance to resolve the issue multiple times and they continued to say pay up. We fired this company & DO NOT recommend them I am so disappointed. read more
