Both have different business plans. Spring City offers a way for you to try, sample, taste and drink a wide variety of wines that changes frequently. It is more about learning more about wines from all over the world. Other places, you simply order the wine and then find out you don't like it but are forced to finish it because you just paid $X for it. Here you pay by the ounce. 1, 2 or 3 ounces. It is set up as wine on tap with Aerators. Get a card with your credit card linked to it, read about the wines and start tasting. 75 different wines and varying prices. If you like what you are tasting, they will sell you bottles. If you don't like wines, they have a full bar as well. They also have a limited appetizer menu and nights with live music. Just a great spot to unwind with your significant other or with a larger group. Plenty of parking around the corner or up the street a bit. Yes, downtown Waukesha can be difficult to drive and find parking but there really is plenty of parking. Cheers!

I ordered the Bloody Mary spicy but Pabst was an option for the chaser so since it's a former Milwaukee beer I chose that over Miller light. The Bloody Mary was as expected nothing special and Pabst is Pabst so your typical neighborhood bar drinks. The menu is small and cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I ordered the $3.50 cheeseburger that comes with pickles or onions, raw or fried so I chose raw. I saw what looked to be a hand formed patty come out of a zip lock bag, the pizza oven was opened up and a sheet of foil was inserted and my burger went in, these crazy mofo's are making cheeseburgers in a pizza oven. You get ketchup and mustard set next to you for when your burger is done. There is a hot pot next to the pizza oven with probably the soup or chili of the day. It's a very basic cheeseburger on a generic white bun with raw onions and generic razor thin pickle slices. The cheeseburger was actually good because it was a fresh hand formed patty that was juicy with a nice beef flavor I thought. It's not super huge so if you have a bigger appetite than order 2 or get the soup or chili. This was a pretty reasonable for the experience of a new place with drinks and a small lunch with the $3.50 cheeseburger, 3.50 Bloody Mary with a glass of Pabst and $3.00 tip which = $10. Look I'm not proud because you could find me in a nice place or a hole in the wall because I like trying everything and I don't discriminate.

I called in an order of fried haddock with potato pancakes and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. I also ordered an extra piece of haddock. The food was ok. The the mozzarella sticks looked homemade but the potato pancakes did not. It weirded me out that the haddock was in little pieces instead of traditional sized pieces. The breading didn't have much flavor, which was a shame given how much fish there was. When I asked for the extra piece of fish, I was told by the person that answered the phone that they didn't know the cost as they were just helping out that night. I (unfortunately) didn't press for an answer because extra pieces at other restaurants are typically close to $3 and I was ok with something in that ballpark. To my utter shock, the bill showed the extra piece (or pieces) was an outrageous $9. Never in my wildest dreams would I pay $9 for an extra piece of fish, especially when the haddock dinner itself was only $11. I should have refused the extra piece when I found out or just left without any of the food, but sadly I didn't. It also would have been nice had they waited to make the extra piece(s) until I got there and could inform me that it was $9. I absolutely would have said no thanks at that point. Note, EJ's is cash only. They do have an ATM, but I don't know what the fees are for using it.
