I enrolled my son in the basketball class for ages 9-15 based on the class description, which stated that it would be led by experienced coaches and was designed for children who were either picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to improve their skills. The description also indicated that participants would learn core fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and footwork. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and I am very disappointed with this class. Had I known what the program would actually be like, I would not have enrolled my child. The class was disorganized, and the coaches did not appear to have the experience advertised. They seemed to be young adults or high school students who lacked both basketball coaching experience and experience working with children. For instance, while the children should have been receiving instruction, one coach was on the other side of the court trying to dribble the ball between his legs--and repeatedly couldn't do it. The other coach spent much of the class standing with her hands on her hips, occasionally having the children dribble through cones a few times, but providing very little instruction, feedback, or skill development. Throughout the class, the children received very little instruction on the fundamentals. They briefly practiced passing and then attempted to shoot baskets from near midcourt, which was far beyond the skill level of many beginners. Soon afterward, they were placed into a scrimmage, where my child--who is brand new to basketball--was expected to play alongside children who already had basketball experience. What concerned me most was that when several children ended up on the floor fighting over the ball, the coaches stood by laughing instead of stopping play, breaking it up, and using the moment as a teaching opportunity. Rather than coaching the children on proper positioning, sportsmanship, and ball-handling, they allowed the chaos to continue. The instruction did not match the course description or the expectations that were set when I enrolled my child. I expected a structured environment focused on teaching beginners the fundamentals before moving into game play. Instead, the class lacked organization, meaningful instruction, and appropriate coaching for novice players. I understand that the class description also stated that it would be fast-paced, but being fast-paced should not come at the expense of instruction. Where was the teaching? Where were the fundamentals? I enrolled my child to learn basketball, not simply to run up and down the court. Without meaningful coaching and instruction, this felt less like a basketball class and more like some what supervised free play on a basketball court. Maybe advertise the class as "free play on a basketball court." read more

Staff is always nice and the property is well maintained. They are always updating to ensure they are accommodating as many interests/hobbies as possible. Very family oriented. read more

Taking a class here for the first time and I am enjoying it thus far! Only had 3 classes but I am always very excited to attend. The instructor is a young college student who aspire to own a dance studio and I am going to be rooting for her to achieve all of her dreams!! Her dances are fun and she is very friendly and helpful. She goes with the flow of the class and is very open to your requests like us filming her do the routine so we can go home and practice! so glad my friends and I decided to take this class!!! Will definitely look forward to taking more classes here. The facility is always clean and workers are usually very friendly. I do hate the parking layout, though. The fees are varying per month. Additionally the classes teachers can be rude. The front staff women always have scowls and are extremely unprofessional . Few times they were sure how to pull up the file or which classes coding to charge . They weren't sure about a lot. The front desk staff always on their phone or chit chatting with each other. I tried the Kidzone after school program where two library books and laptop and charger were lost. Additionally my child was being bullied and when talking with the staff they said they tried separating her and talking to them but "couldn't do anything else". When asked if they would talk to the other child they said they would. Not much conflict resolution which is understandable if they are understaffed .They are very young children untrained and unknowing . I hope there is never an emergency where my child is in there care because they wouldn't know. There are plenty of classes taught at other places that will be more patient kind and honest with their fees. They really really need a staff that is good with kids has kids and understand behavioral issues especially with special needs children and bullying from "normal" kids. This place offers a lot of classes for both adults and children and it's a nice facility, however it's super expensive to take classes. I put My son in basketball and it was a complete shit show. Management was completely unprofessional and the coach revealed private information about me in front of all the kids and parents. I was so embarrassed, I'm not sure why management felt the need to tell the coach private information that he really had no business knowing. No compassion here! Last year, this place offered a basketball league for kids of all ages. My son was excited to join. We paid the fees and attended every event. The coach sucked because he had no basketball skills and no personality to match. Then, one Sunday in January a conflict occurred between my son and another team member. A family member - adult family member - came onto the court that physically attacked my son? No law enforcement was called at all!?! An adult assaults a minor, but no police??? To this day, no one from place has cared enough about my minor son to check on him or to even ask if he is ok emotionally, mentally or spiritually. I'm told the man was "barred" from attending anymore games. They don't know how this man's name but he's barred?!? Note to parents: do not entrust your children to these heathens!?! The Tiny Tots program has been rough for my 3 year old daughter. We've been attending for 9 months but she's been tossed back and forth between classrooms and teachers multiple times over the last 3 months. I contacted the supervisors Nina and/or Victoria and they both will not consider parental preferences. They have a waitlist of children so I guess they don't care about customer service. I've noticed a high turnover of teachers. I'm not surprised after how I've been treated as a parent. I cannot recommend. read more

My son comes here for Judo class. Sensei Juan is amazing and teaches the kids because he believes in the good Judo brings to a kids life. I cannot recommend sensei Juan enough. I used to love this community and volunteering here was great at the beginning, but their staff and the way that the sports department handles things is very favorited on their staff versus the volunteers. As a volunteer volleyball coach, I got yelled at and cussed at by one of the referees and I was removed from being a coach. The staff got complains in regards to me hugging one of my players who in fact WAS MY SISTER....They are overall very bad at handling these situations when my team and myself being a coach was harmless. I was very transparent with my players and parents. The kids made a TikTok including me in it and they took someone's complaint of us having "too much fun" considering that I am only 7-8 years older then the players on my team. I will say JCSD HR department handled it the best they could considering that when the eastvale community center sports staff sugar coated or possibly lied in regards to what they may have told HR back to save their jobs. As a sports center for recreational sports, I do not recommend just because of the lack of communication and organization. Sucks to be the only rec center in Eastvale. read more

I've signed my kids up in classes here plenty of times over the last 3 years, mostly because there isn't anything else around. The classes are sub par and typicallly so overcrowded and chaotic with kids running everywhere. No way should there be that many kids in a class. Watch and learn. I sign them up anyway so they can get out of the house and the place is okay and clean. My real problem came on last Monday (5/20) when I went to take my daughter to her first volleyball class. She was so excited!! Except when I arrived and checked in at the gymnasium counter Lexa said the class was cancelled. ? No one had called me though. ? I asked her if she called me to let me know so I wouldn't have had to get me and my daughter ready and drive ALL this way, and nonchalantly she said, "No." Then continued to look at me as if there might be a movie playing on my forehead. You know.. like she did not care AT ALL and she was NEVER apologetic whatsoever. Did not care AT ALL. I was so confused with this behavior. I asked her if they call people when a class is cancelled and she said no. I asked her, "So you're just waiting for everyone to show up and then once they get here you will let them know the class is canceled?" She said yes and again continued to stare at me as if waiting for another question. I was speechless and apalled at this bold and brash lack of customer service. I went to the main counter and began looking at a catalog. Eric must have seen the look on my face and asked me if everything was OK. I told him no I am not happy because I just got my daughter ready and drove all this way in traffic just to be told to my face that the class is cancelled and I never even received a phone call. I told him Lexa at the opposite counter by the gymnasium told me they do not call people when a class is cancelled, that they just wait for them to show up and then let them know the class is cancelled, once they have already driven over here. He said, "She told you that??!" I said yes. Eric apologized and helped me look for another class but there wasn't anything starting soon. He didntveaste any time refunding my card and was very apologetic. On my way out I told Lexa to call people when a class is cancelled because doing otherwise is very unprofessional. She had the same blank look on her face and said thank you and nothing else. My daughter and I came home disappointed, because she was so ready to get into a class and learn something new and make some new friends and it was a real insult to be treated the way Lexa treats people. Although I was not able to find a new class, the fact that Eric cared and went out of his way to save the situation calmly, maturely and professionally speaks volumes about him as a person and as a representation of the community center. Rosa Parks, Kid Zone has been a nightmare for us with our 5 year old son. The staff is horrible not to mention the supervisor Victoria. If you have a child with too much energy or with ADHD this place will not work for you. They do not want to deal with kids that are hyper. They find any excuse to call you to have your child picked up. But they'll charge you for a full day no matter what. I have a older daughter that attends the program and she really hasn't had a problem there but she hates it. Says the staff are mean and scream at the kids. Last Friday she over heard two staff members talking about her brother expressing themselves really bad about him. She was in tears. I confronted the staff and the denied everything. Called the supervisor left her two voicemail messages and she still hasn't return my call. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD. read more

Very nice building! The guy at the front desk was really friendly. I've taken a couple of the Yoga-lates (yoga and pilates) sessions and really enjoyed the classes. You can enroll in person or online. Wish this place had a swimming pool and offered swimming lessons. read more

I'm very hesitant to post this review because I don't want to share my fav secret studying spot! Study rooms and computer room are very clean and cool. Most of the days they open till 10 pm. This rec center is clean and new so still very nice. I've been here many times on Mon nights to play volleyball during their open gym. I wish the fans on the ceilings weren't so low, they really get in the way when you're trying to play a good game. Also, the wait can be long since there are so many players and winners usually stay on court. The one time membership fee is only $2.50 if you're a resident of the area and only $12 if you're not. read more

Horrible experience with basketball sign upwas told by coordinator duje who wasn't the least happy cause i demanded to speak to him and he tells me my problem is minute one so i requested a refund at which time he said they have over 650 kids on waiting list cause i was sick and tired of calling and stopping by to enquire on when practice starts and oh by the way he tells me the coach is a volunteer i guess he forgot i paid for class and not a free class when he walked away he threw away the piece of paper with the information into in the trash in my presence i was like wow i wonder how he manages to keep this job read more

Mind you, I had a high standard. Having lived in Rancho Cucamonga I had a vision of a community center from what I experienced there. The Lewis Community Center there is fantastic. The Eastvale Community Center looks nice and impressive but essentially is a building with a bunch of various size empty rooms and a large gym used mostly for basketball and volleyball. The staff ranges from polite to useless and seems to only capable of answering questions by directing you to a website or a catalog. Despite having a 'snack bar' built in the main lobby it's never open or used. The classes are limited and there are very few options. In Rancho we had options for our daughter when she was a toddler: nice "pre-school" like classrooms, professional staff. Here however, the classrooms are simply empty rooms and random staff seems to do some rudimentary instruction. As a result, we drive all the way to Rancho for our son's classes despite the Eastvale Community Center being only a few blocks from us. Hopefully they will improve with time but I don't see that happening anytime soon. read more

They have teens running their events. They do not share all necessary information and expect you to have all things in order, when they fail to give you the correct information. I will never book an event here again. Please train your staff better, hand out the appropriate forms and make sure to tell your guests about all of your hidden fees. read more

JCSD has really being great with various kids programs. My kids attended and some still attend the tiny tots program..Ms. Carolyn is great with the kids. My older kids attend the kids zone at Rosa Parks and I must say that Ms. Maria and her team are simply AMAZING!!!!!!!! I was initially skeptical about enrolling my kids, but a parent who had utilized the Kids zones services really spoke well about the program..especially Ms. Maria. I must say that after 2 years and counting of utilizing Rosa Parks Kids Zone. I am very satisfied with the care and attention given to the kids. I have always observed that the team at Rosa Parks Kids zone are always vacuuming and ensuring that the environment is clean, however the upper administration needs to upgrade the carpet and repaint the structures. As a parent I am willing to rally other parents to donate funds for a carpet and repainting of the structure. read more

The community center is top notch but most of the employees I have encountered before, during and after the event was uneventful. I would say some of the staff are lacking people and communication skills. It is a business right, and I am a paying customer, so I was expecting to get information from the staff that is supposed to be the planning coordinator. And during the event the room temperature were either too hot or too cold. We complained numerously about the room temperature and the staff said it takes awhile for the air or heat to kick in. Come on guys. I don't think the community center would have an air/heating system that is not up to par. In the beginning of our event we were already mistreated badly by the staff, so I had a feeling it's not the air/heating system. The after party inspection was uneventful as well. We vacuumed, spot clean, mopped, picked up the trash and nothing was damaged but the inspection was like a military inspection. I'm just glad the party is over, and the security deposit is another story. I called just to find out the status since the email I received was vague as to when I should expect it, and the staff who said he will be checking on it just hung up on me. I guess no one cares about customer courtesy anymore at Eastvale Community Center. So sad because the place looks nice and some staff are good, but the ones that aren't are not making a good impression for everyone. read more
