The owner Charlie is highly unprofessional, terrible customer service and ZERO business integrity! My husband and I purchased an ATV from the owner Charlie this past winter, upon purchase Charlie agreed that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the bike. The bike started having mechanical issues almost immediately and had been back and forth to this shop for repair but every time we get it home something breaks down within 24hrs or less. We recently took the bike back to Charlie for repair in late April 2026. I am writing this review on June 30, 2026. CHARLIE and his workers have given excuse after excuse as to why he has not done a diagnostic assessment of the bike. After the shop completed the diagnostic repair he stated he would order the parts and have the bike completely fixed the week after Memorial Day. The day came and went the bike is still not repaired, now he claims he needs parts again, they sent the wrong part etc We have had to call the shop every day to check the status of the repairs only to be given another EXCUSE!! CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CALL YOU EVERYDAY FOR THE STATUS OF REPAIRS, especially when you have had the bike for repair for OVER 2 months! Last week the shop and owner Charlie stated he had all the parts and committed that the bike would be ready Wed, July 1st, by and today the owner Charlie started yelling at him over the phone and said he did not want to be bothered, he had other customers and HUNG UP THE PHONE! We drove from Chicago to Orland to attempt to speak with in person, he became extremely irate, began yelling and screaming at us waving his hand in our face telling us that he had other customers and other jobs and that we should just leave. I became extremely uncomfortable with the way in which he was aggressively, yelling and waving his hand in my husband and my face and I started filming the interaction. The owner CHARLIE and his staff became even more irate, aggressive and threatening when he saw that I was recording the entire interaction. The police were called to deescalate the situation and Charlie again committed to Orland PD to having the bike ready "next week" . The situation sucks because he has broken the bike down mechanically and it will cost us even more time and money to try to get the bike to another shop for repair for the terrible work CYCLES R US has provided. Since dealing with CYCLES R US and the owner Charlie, my husband and I have learned this shop has a terrible reputation with many customers, particularly customers of color. The owner is highly disrespectful, rude, unprofessional and dismissive, when you respond to his antics he will become irate, aggressive and call the police as a tactic to either not finish the work on your bike or to try to keep your property and sell it to make a buck! I previously left a high review as a client who not only purchased a motorcycle from them, but used…read morethem for service. After my last experience with them, I will never bring my motorcycles back to them for any type of service. As a repeat client, it shouldn't be that hard to set up appointments, but their communication is horrible. It literally took me three weeks to get back to me. It is next to impossible to actually reach someone direct. You are always told they're on the phone or meeting with someone and then it could be a day or three days before someone get back to you. The only person who was responsive in of both in my previous experiences recently was Jordan. For this recent experience, I was adding crash bars to my motorcycle a newly acquired Triumph, resolve a service light, handle three nationwide recalls, and get an oil change. To their credit they did a nice job on equipment install. One recall with for replacing the back tire and the other recall with bleeding the clutch for a known issue. They got back to me that Triumph could not get me a replacement tire timely but would cover the cost of a new tire which they provided. They did put on a new tire with a 2024 date stamp. I was contacted about getting service and they recommended changing clutch fluid even though the bleeding the clutch was one of the covered recalls. It was at that point I said deliver my bike without adding anything else. I have other mechanics that can do oil changes. The kicker is that after they return my bike and as I was putting it in my garage I noticed that scratched one of my black side aluminum side panniers. I immediately sent before and after photos indicating the fresh scratch (with black marker that someone tried to conceal) It's 3" long and quite visible. It's not with replacing but just bothersome. Jordan was very responsive and got back to me that they didn't know where that could've happened. Noah, who picked up and dropped off the motorcycle took video recordings both times and I asked them to review. I've yet to hear back from them. It has been exhausting dealing with them. If you're looking to purchase a motorcycle, I would give sales department high rating, but avoid their department for your sanity.

I gave them my 440 engine for machine work with a list of everything I wanted checked/repaired. It…read moreneeded to be bored for oversized pistons, so I told them to tell me what size pistons I would need to order since I had specific ones picked out for my build. 2 wks later they tell me my engine was ready and that they just ordered stock compression oversized pistons. I said that's not what I wanted, I wanted a specific compression ratio. They said ok, and ordered 2 diff. sets to get the correct compression pistons. When I got the engine back, the deck surface was not resurfaced. They said it looked 'fine' and didn't need to be resurfaced, even though it had impressions of the original headgaskets. I asked what brand bearings and rings they used and did not get a specific answer. When I went to install the lifters, most of them would not slide into their bores because they were not cleaned or dressed well enough and had buildup. I had to carefully clean the lifter bores without getting debris inside the engine. The initial fire up and cam break in went good, except for a considerable rear main seal oil leak that started about 10 min. into break-in. I drained the break-in oil and found it looked like silver paint. I filled it with fresh oil, changed the filter and ran it again. The engine had good oil psi, didn't make any abnormal noise but continued to leak. I changed the oil again after about an hour of run-time, and the oil that came out still looked like silver paint. I removed the oil pan and replaced the rear main seal. I removed a main bearing cap while the pan was down and the bearing did NOT look like it only had 1.5 hours on it. I reinstalled the oil pan, changed the filter and filled it with new oil. I drove the car around the neighborhood for about 10 miles and my oil leak was back, and I was starting to hear some internal noise from the engine. I listened with a stethoscope and heard the noise from the crankshaft area. I also noticed the crankshaft walking in and out while running. I then checked for crankshaft thrust play with a prybar, it was excessive. I took another oil sample, it still looked like silver paint. I spoke with John at Markham, he told me to remove the engine and he would take care of it. I removed the engine and cylinder heads and found the #8 cylinder had deep grooves and scratch marks on the top and opposite bottom of the cylinder. I removed the #8 piston and found the piston was gouged badly near the ring lands corresponding with the scratch marks in the cylinder. The cam and lifters looked perfect when removed and were not damaged during the break-in process. When I dropped off the engine, John was confused about the marks in the cylinder and piston. I provided dated oil samples from each oil change I did to show him what the oil looked like. I showed him pictures I took of the main bearings when I had the oil pan off and he said they look 'fine'...I disagree. I called about a month later, he did not have any update for me. 6 wks after that, he still didn't have any answers for me. I was frustrated and told him I was going to pick up the engine and have it repaired somewhere else. When I showed up the next day to pick it up, he said to me 'You know your engine is all apart, don't you?' I told him I did not because I had not heard ANY updates from you. I asked what he found wrong with it and he didn't know what was wrong with it. As I was loading up the parts, I noticed all of the bearings were gone. I asked where they were and no one could find them...I was told they were thrown away. Now the engine is at a much more professional shop, I am waiting on the estimate for what exactly the problem is and how much it will cost to fix. I would NOT recommend Markham Machine Shop to anyone. I am told they used to be a good, reputable shop but I can say from experience they are no longer.

We had dropped off his tire around 11 A.M, not hearing anything for the next 5 hours from either of the two men working at the shop. We called around 4:40 P.M only to find out they were JUST going to work on my fiancé's tire, and less than ten minutes later they called my finance back, letting him know he was "missing his spline." We informed my fiancé's brother, who was paying for this (he even told the younger guy there that he wasn't paying at pickup. That someone else would be paying). He was confused, and we all went to pick up his tire. We had already found it weird neither one of the two guys working could explain shit to us. They couldn't explain over the phone or in person. The only thing they had said to my fiancé's brother was "if the wheel is like that, then the other part that connects to it should be damage as well too" (Drive Shaft) but when we had removed the wheel, we checked EVERYTHING, and it was not SHAVED DOWN the way they told us. We took the wheel at 11 A.M in good condition. Nothing was wrong. The normal wear and tear we have seen. But when we got back to the wheel, the "spline" in question was shaved off and damage. These guys half assed a job because they were irresponsible and lost track of time. They fucked up a part of the wheel needed. They mentioned buying the part from them or eBay. Don't come to this establishment. They won't own up to their mistakes. They find ways to scam and make a paycheck. And if you leave a bad review they might call you and try to guilt-trip you to take it down. Trust me. They got time to call and throw a tantrum for shit service they give. But they won't fix your bikes. They'll only mess them up instead of doing their job. As shown in the photos the Drive Shaft is perfectly fine and the other part of it is mess up (Hub Clutch) which they fucked it up.

I was nearby enjoying a National Historical Site, and saw the Go Karts as I drove by. I thought "So much fun." What a great place to have in the community . They have protective wear to use your Toys responsibly, and they have a Tool Department and Repair department as well. I did not make a purchase. But I do believe if I asked them , the performance and repair questions, they would have been helpful. They took pride in their store and their work. That's awesome. Very unique find!
