Here you can pick up a beautiful shirt or sweater that will make an outfit (and potentially cause heads to swivel). Unlike other boutiques, Linda's carries lines that you will not see everywhere (and definitely not at major department stores). While the clothes have attitude (or at least a point of view), the sales associates do not. They have been gracious and helpful every time I stop in. If you want assistance or a candid opinion, they will provide it; if you just want to browse, they will not hover. Linda's is an "old school" boutique in the best possible way.

I should've known. This Marshalls in on Roosevelt Blvd, in a renovated strip mall, in a hit or miss…read moresection of the boulevard. It looks SO nice on the outside, so I decided to give it a look, despite what I knew to be true about the area. Wrong. Ugh. I actually get upset when my negative preconceptions are proven to be absolutely true. Upon parking, I walk up to the entrance and have to navigate around 2 men having an aggressive conversation at an above normal decibel level. I walk in, and not 2 seconds later, some young, scraggly dude walks past me and belches so loudly the employee unloading boxes gasps in disgust. I'm 10 seconds into my experience, and already I'm ready to turn around. The next knock is that the inside is CRAZY crowded. Merchandise is just on top of other merchandise. Again, the outside of this store is completely redone, and it looks like it belongs in Marlton or some other uppity New Jersey suburb, but inside, it is super cramped. The last straw was listening to the employees argue and yell at each other about when they were getting off, and what they WEREN'T going to do, etc, etc. I looked at the like 4 small racks of mens clothes and decided it wasn't worth it. I headed back to Jersey to do my shopping. I love Marshalls, but I don't see a reason to come back to this one any time soon. It's a bit out of the way, and about 100 times less impressive than the one in my own town.

Here's what BS has right: the store is bright, clean and well merchandised. The inventory is…read moreupdated, alterations can be made on premises, salespeople are helpful and not pushy. Here's what BS has wrong: management and customer service. And these are big when the price tags are equivalent to high end department stores where you can also find the same amenities. BS also has an extreme ALL SALES FINAL return policy. Much like other reviewers, I had a dress special ordered for my son's wedding. I had three fitting appointments. At each store visit, my salesperson, Rocky, styled me with sportswear for the wedding weekend and beyond. By my last appointment, I had spent almost triple the price of my MOG gown, but I was pleased to have supported a female-owned small business, and I told the owner, Sara, exactly that. . When I left the store my MOG gown fit perfectly. Rocky and Sara packed it for me, and I was assured they had sold lots of dresses by this manufacturer, and the dress would travel well. That was not the case. Getting dressed for the wedding I discovered the length of the gown had "grown" approximately three inches. I walked my son down the aisle with the skirt portion hiked up under my armpits. As the day progressed, so did the length. Instead of the flowy, sequin top I dreamed of, rolls of fabric are apparent in every picture, as I hiked the skirt higher. I made a follow-up appointment at BS. No one argued that the dress had "grown." Sara immediately told me she wasn't giving me a refund. I asked her to contact the manufacturer on my behalf. She refused, arguing that the material was not defective and insinuating I had worn different shoes or undergarments. Rocky was sympathetic. The seamstress made no comment on the material but pinned the skirt to be re-hemmed. Of course this wasn't BS's fault. Nor can they give me a redo on my son's wedding. But a little compassion and customer appreciation would've gone a long way. Yesterday, I picked the dress up for the last time. Sara saw me but said nothing. I left, then decided to come back in and talk to her, which I did quietly, in the back of the store, away from other employees and customers. I wanted to give her the chance to do the right thing - something, anything to keep me as a customer. I said I wouldn't be returning. Her response was a blasé "okay." When I asked her if she knew why, her comments were shockingly accusatory, and she asked me to leave the store and not return. The entire exchange happened in less than a minute. Management's unwillingness to take any responsibility and heartless lack of empathy prompted me to write my first YELP review. Buyer beware.
