Went at noon on Sunday. Restaurant was half full. Seated quickly and server was very attentive. Kitchen was slow, took 30 minutes for food. Much to improve with the food. American fries were thinly sliced and a small portion. Quality of bacon was bad and undercooked. Biscuits were tasteless and gravy was yellow! And only one slice of toast (cut in half)! Prices are good. Server was excellent. Timing and food need improvements.

Was able to visit easy street this morning for breakfast. Arrived and was greeted warmly by hostess. Was informed it was going to be about a 30-45 minute wait. It was pretty busy, but the turnover was pretty quick so we opted to stay. We waited about 15 minutes and were called for our table. Greeted quickly by server who took our drink order. We were still looking at the menus when she returned with our drinks, so she gave us a few more minutes to peruse the menu. When she came back to take our order, she was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a couple of suggestions. We ended up ordering a plate of biscuits and gravy with their breakfast potatoes and I got their steak and eggs (steak, three eggs, hash browns, and toast). Refills on the drinks were served fairly promptly as needed. The food order on the other hand did take awhile to get out to us. It's a very new restaurant with new staff, and again, it was very busy - so I understand the wait - but it did take about an hour to get the food out. I'm sure as they get a routine going, the wait will diminish. When the food arrived, it was presented on the plate well and appeared to be prepared as ordered. A slight mistake with my order... I was given two eggs instead of three. I informed our server, but did not request they cook an extra egg as I did not need it - just wanted to bring it to the attention of the kitchen so they learn their menu. All in all, a great experience. Looking forward to them opening up for dinner soon.

Pork shank and garlic mashed. Tender and perfectly seasoned. A great meal not found in West Michigan

Mac and cheese was decent. Pulled pork was great. Service was quick. The family meal had 6 corn bread muffins, 1.5lbs of pulled pork, 6 buns, fries, and mac and cheese. Their house made pickles were very tasty as well.

Where do I start? Oh yeah! The Smoked Old Fashion. See picture below. There's NO smoke. $14…read more Nothing was and the cherries were a Gelatinous expired hot mess. And to add insult to injury, our bartender forgot to add the bitters till after my sip. Pro move. Classic lack of mixology training. Now comes the best part of our evening. Should have listened to the kind old man at the previous stop to avoid this rebranded failed establishment. Our food has arrived tucked neatly in aluminum foil packets. I ordered ribs, kielbasa, Mac & cheese, and baked beans. My wife had brisket, Mac & cheese, and Brussel sprouts. Why did everything come in aluminum foil pouches. We were just told that everything just came off the smoker. Clearly it had NOT. Both of our meals were sooooooooooooooo SALTY that there was not enough water in the restaurant to get back the loss of moisture in our bodies. If I was a hunter, I would have used our meals to bait deer. Perfect little pouches of salt licks. Yes! We brought to the staff's attention. They were kind to take our meals off our bill and give us a gift card to use on our next visit. That was kind of them. But, the gift card has no use, because it has NO monetary value. It's just blank, nothing was loaded on it. The QR code just takes you to calling the restaurant. Classic marketing move. Back to our SALTY meals. They were so salty that I had to pull over to some random home and use their garden hose to get water. Burned my mouth from the hot hose water. I even feel bad for the late evening Trash Pandas. Maybe that's why we saw so many of them dead along the road. They died from dehydration from all of the salty scraps from the restaurant. I was so hopeful. We thought that after the rebrand from being Big Boiler Brewing and its failures they would have learned. Our advice, listen to your elders and NEVER go to the Hop Hog. Drive by. Keep going. Arby's is a little further down the road. They have the "MEATS".

We got onion rings for the table and they were probably the best onion rings I've ever had. The manager checked on us and thanked us for coming. I got a smoked old fashioned which was very good. Nestled in downtown Kalamazoo, Brick and Brine specializes in cocktails and steaks, but they also offer a variety of menu options to fit all tastes. We celebrated my father's 70th birthday here, and it didn't disappoint. They offer a variety of spaces to fit small and large groups. We hosted 10 people in their main dining room, and it was the perfect ambiance. Their dinner rolls are complimentary, super fluffy and come with a side of black salted butter. We also started with the house salad, and I split two specials - a potatoes au gratin dish along with a dish called Jafar's Chicken. Both were incredible. I highly recommend venturing here for any occasion! Thank you, Kenzie and team for an amazing time!

We were seated very promptly since we had a reservation. The outside of restaurant is beautiful and has a huge parking lot. The area where we were seated was really nice with windows all along the wall. And our appetizers- the dressed eggs and lobster ravioli were amazing!! One of the biggest issues was the number of gnats flying around our table throughout the meal. We constantly had to swat them away from our wine glasses, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the evening. I understand the occasional gnat. But this was kind of ridiculous. The service was also disappointing. Our server mentioned that he had worked at the restaurant for quite some time, but he didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu and wasn't able to answer questions confidently. He was also not very attentive, and we often had to wait longer than expected for check-ins. Our food came out quickly but the wine always took quite a while to come to the table. The food itself was good, but when you're paying fine-dining prices, you expect the entire experience--including the atmosphere and service--to match. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues because it has the potential to provide a much better dining experience. Also, I would skip the sea bass entree. I was not really impressed with it and wished that I had ordered a pasta dish. However the server helped me decide and chose the sea bass. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the decor. I loved the wine and appetizers. But everything else just did not impress me. Not for the amount of money we dropped on this meal. I doubt I will return.
