My friend and I came here for a early dinner and loved how cute it looked on the inside! We were quickly seated and was really surprised by the extensive menu and that they had a happy hour menu that included the weekends. The happy hour menu had a lot of options for drinks and for appetizers, but we still decided to order off the main menu. We decided to try the crab Rangoon which was perfectly fried and was stuffed with cream cheese filling! We also got the green curry, and the pad kee mao which came out at a spice level of three and packed a really good heat. It felt like these two dishes were pretty authentic tasting and definitely hit my Thai craving. I also really loved the really big portions and they served the food with a robot which I thought was really cool. Overall, a really great place for a casual lunch/dinner and it had great food and was reasonably priced!!
My friend and I had the below: -Thai tide peppered fish delights -Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Tofu -Blooming Pad thai chicken Pros -Taste of everything was ok but not outstanding. I did like pad thai when I was dining there but didn't like it as much after reheating the leftovers. -Nothing was overly sweet like other Thai places -Portion size decent -Like there is a chili box selection -Restaurant spacious and clean overall -Staff was helpful and kind. Mid -There was a happy hour menu for $7. Great there is a happy hour menu but thought price could be better than $7. However, the portion was a decent plate size.
Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. The music was as a bit too loud though. Service was amazing. Fried rice 10/10 Pad Thai 8/10 All the no where sticking together cause large clumps that where hard to separate. The flavor wasn't the best I've had. Red curry 8/10 Good flavor more on the sweet side vs spicy. We asked the the spice level of 10 and wasn't hot enough Veggie rolls 10/10
Thaicoon is one of the best Thai restaurant available in Katy Asian Town that offers a great happy hour menu. Shareable plates for $6! Service was friendly. Ambiance is modern and spacious. Enough space to try all the popular items. Highly recommend to try when craving Thai food!
Service from front to back of the house is great! Even the bartender will come by to offer recommendations if you ask. The food is delivered via a robot, fun for all. Aside from service, food is great with good amount of vegetarian options. Here's what I've had and recommend: * Vegetable Eggrolls - cooked perfectly and pairs well with the sweet & sour sauce * Poppin' Papaya Salad - spice level 2 was already pretty spicy. Flavorful and delicious! * Tom Yum Noodle - ordered with shrimp, has lots of veggies. Noodles are perfectly cooked and soup is delicious. Well presented in a stone pot. * Pineapple fried rice - comes in a real pineapple. The presentation alone is pretty but it's good to boot! * Panang Curry w/tofu & vegetables - one of the most flavorful Thai curries I've had. * Pad Kee Mao - noodles cooked just right, first plate to get devoured! Plenty of seating for a big group. We dined with a group of 5. The drinks are made well, grab an old fashioned while you're here. They have a good selection of whiskey amongst other spirits.
Great food and even better service!! We ended up at the other Thai place basically next door and ordered 2 small things (wasn't great) and knew we needed to go try Thaicoon instead. Sooo happy we did!!! Oh and I forgot the picture of the scallop in curry sauce appetizer....OMG YUMMMMMMMM
Food is much worse than it was 3-4 years ago. Chicken was so overcooked it was dark brown Noodles were soggy and overcooked and smelt like oil Fried fish was just dried fish fried no flaky meat. Shrimps were not fresh. Not for foodies. Only for whitewashed people.
A great spot for Thai food lovers with a full bar! The food was excellent, service was good, and the ambiance was vibrant. It was our first visit, and my family loved it. The menu caters well to both non-veg and vegan options, and it's kid-friendly too--our little one enjoyed his chicken fried rice. Portions were generous and perfect for sharing. We also appreciated the clear spice level warnings on the menu--they were spot on! There are still plenty of dishes we'd love to try, so we'll definitely be back.
Decent happy hour location in the Katy area. Stumbled upon this place randomly while shopping in the K-town shopping area, they have a $6 happy hour which we decided to check out. The restaurant itself is a bit dark and has lots of random decor. The service was decent, nothing too extraordinary. The food was fine, it just lacked those bold flavors that really make Thai food taste good. Granted these are just small bites but I think they could have been better.
Great place to stop by to get a quick Thai meal. They have lunch special that runs around $13 for a entrée and a side of fried spring rolls/salad. Food came out fast. Food had good flavor. The rice was a little mushy, undercooked. The pad Thai was a little bit more sweeter than I would like. Overall great place.
Service was good. Salmon skin - Good but a little salty. Crying tiger - Average. Sauce was okay. Laotion Papaya - It definitely still has a thai fusion and doesn't taste like authentic Laotion style. Flavor is a little disappointing. Calamari - Sweet but it works for me. Thai Boat - Very bland. Probably the worst I ever had. Wings - Looks great. Taste is average. Great looking modern Thai restaurant but food is average. Nothing that blew me away. I wouldn't come back.
Came here specifically for the mango sticky rice and ordered nothing else. It was excellent! I have no notes. The presentation was just as great as the flavor.
Located in Katy Asian Town next to Ding Tea. Plenty of parking space in front. Not too big a fan of their appetizers (calamari was chewy and likely frozen and their pad Thai pig ear was a big tough/hard to eat) but their pad Thai is one of the better ones I've had; their beef is actually very tender and pretty tasty compared to some other spots with more suspiciously chewy beef. The tamarind sauce and presentation was also on point. Service was good and the interior was clean. Nice spot for this area!
Was craving some Thai food, so stopped here! First impressions: the restaurant is nice! And also, since it's in katy Asian town, there plenty of parking for you! Service: service was good and fast. Food came out pretty fast! Food: I got the panang curry and my bf got a crispy noodle. I really enjoyed the taste of the panang curry! Came to Thaicoon with my family and overall had a pretty good experience, even though a few dishes were hit or miss for us. Thai Tea: Sweet, delicious, and exactly what a traditional Thai tea should taste like--no complaints at all. It was rich, refreshing, and one of the highlights of the meal for me. Che Tai: The Che Tai tasted a little too artificial for my liking and was definitely different from the version I'm used to. It may have also seemed less sweet since I was drinking Thai tea alongside it, but overall, this was probably my least favorite drink of the night. Crying Tiger: This was probably my family's favorite dish of the evening. Paired with rice, the meat was flavorful and well-seasoned, though on its own it leaned slightly salty for me. The texture was also a bit too chewy, and I personally would have preferred a crispier bite. Even so, the flavor was still enjoyable, and both my father and brother really liked it. Grilled Atlantic Salmon Curry: The presentation was beautiful, and the salmon had a nice crisp on the outside. However, I could tell it was slightly overcooked, and the meat itself tasted a little bland, almost as if it had been frozen for too long. The Panang curry was comforting and coconut-forward with a creamy texture that I enjoyed, though it lacked the sharper punch I've had from other Panang curries. Lobster Papaya Salad: I liked this dish much more than the seafood salad. The seasoning was mellow, and the fresh young papaya was well-seasoned and refreshing. Unfortunately, the lobster still had a slight fishy taste that didn't sit well with me afterward. We ordered everything mild since my brother can't handle spice. My father thought the salad was too sour, but my brother enjoys sour flavors, so he liked it more than we did. I also personally didn't enjoy the green beans included in the salad. Yum Talay Seafood Salad: This salad had a softer, more acidic flavor, but I wish the taste had been crisper and brighter overall. The sourness felt muted in a way that didn't fully work for me. It was still decent, just not a standout dish for our family. Service & InKind Experience: The service throughout the meal was a big reason why I still gave this place 4-stars. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and already familiar with the fact that we were using InKind, which made everything feel smooth and effortless when it came time to pay the bill. Overall, Thaicoon had beautiful presentation, attentive service, and a few dishes my family genuinely enjoyed. While some of the flavors didn't fully land for me personally, the atmosphere, service, and seamless InKind experience still made it a solid visit. read more
Conveniently located just 5 minutes from our hotel, Thaicoon is in an Asian-focused shopping area. Parking is challenging depending on when you go. First time here and was preliminarily pleased at such a temperature-controlled room this was. It was 90 outside and probably 70 inside. We were seated and ordered quickly. Also enjoyed all-weekend-long happy hour specials. I ordered beers and pad Thai. The pad Thai was HUGE. Great flavor and cooked well. I shared some and everyone agreed it was good. Win! read more

Been to this place multiple times as it is one of my go to place for good Thai food. Service is always friendly and pleasant. I've liked everything I've ordered here. My favorite dishes to get are the Blooming Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). I have enjoyed their Panang Curry and Millionaire Mussels. We've stopped by a couple of times to just have drinks and desserts. We actually crave for their yummy Chocolate Cake Shots. Overall ambiance is nice. read more

Thaicoon 10-28-2025 We have always enjoyed Thaicoon and their many GF options , but today was absolutely the best dining experience. (Helped make up for the terrible breakfast experience at Toasted Yolk this morning. ) The food was fabulous as always, but we also happened to be eating during happy hour. The waiter delivered great service, the food came out fast, fresh, and fantastic, and drinks were so good. We stopped an employee walking by and asked for the happy hour drink menu again. He not only obliged quickly with a smile, but he enthusiastically answered questions we had about some of the drinks. We didn't know he was the bartender, but that explained his explicit knowledge of the drinks. But his joy and enthusiasm describing the drinks was not just a bartender answering questions. He was excited about his drinks and the drinks we ordered were amazing. We reflected on our terrible breakfast experience and this was such a totally wonderful dining experience we decided we should talk to the manager and give kudos to everyone who helped us. It turns out the manager was not in that night. That just speaks volumes to how great that manager must be to have a staff so customer focused and striving for such perfection because they care, and not because the manager is watching. Thank you, Thaicoon, for taking one of our favorite restaurants from fantastic to awesome! read more

One of our favorite Thai place! The food is so flavorful, the prices are reasonable, and the portion is generous. The red and green curries are delicious. They put really good spices to it. The pad thai is good too. Even the kids meals are amazing. Service is really good and the restaurant is clean. To top that, they have sugar cane juice. We'll keep coming back. read more
First time checking this place out! It's giant in there and super clean! The menu was so big I was overwhelmed with options lol. I ended up getting the Bloomin Pad Thai and the Basil Rockin Tofu. I was so enticed by the idea of the pad Thai in the egg I had to get it. I have to be sooo real it was baddd. It was veryyy sweet and the noodles were very stuck together. But I love the vision lol. The Basil Rockin Tofu was amazing though!!!!! I loved the sauce in the Basil Rockin Tofu and the texture of the tofu. And the portions are giant. Perfect for sharing or taking home! I really wanna come back and try more. So many cool things in the area so it's worth the visit. read more

First off, Thaicooon is almost part sports bar with a little extra fancy thrown in. We were seated quickly. Service could have been better as our waitress disappeared in between when the food was delivered and we were eating. It took a while to find her to get boxes and the bill. The food was the best part of Thaicoon. The sample platter with money bags, egg rolls and some kind of meat pie was hot and fresh. The pad Thai came in a little egg omelette bowl. It was a bit too tomatoey for me. I loved the pork bell6 and Chinese broccoli. It had great texture and the gai lan was tender and not tough like other restaurants. Thaicoon could have easily been a 5 star, but I found out when I got the bill that there was a 20% upcharge for 6 people. Three of my party were kids under 8 with a 2 year old so I found this pretty ridiculous as we didn't make a mess. read more

All terrible! Service was slow, food was cold, and the staff unaccommodating. They do have a cool robot that delivers the food and sings Happy Birthday. Down side is that the robot moves so slow this contributes to the cold food factor. I can't remember if they have music playing. Lighting is harsh and bright. read more
Wow, I had a few stars less before only because the spicy heat was not full as requested. That written, they are just concerned about delivery customers having a heart attack. This is, hands down, the very very best thai restaurant in Katy area. Michael and the amazing Angelina are incredible hosts and owners need to praise them but please praise the cooks as well in the background. Also a very classy, elegant bar for anyone that wants to relax after work, get away from wife, hang out...etc, 10 stars here....i don't give 10 but first time. I was craving something light and small, like Thai-style starter dishes. My server suggesting a few dishes he thought I might enjoy. He absolutely nailed it! Everything was flavorful and perfectly satisfying without being too heavy. The service was excellent, and the experience left me wanting to come back to try more. Honestly, the food is great and has amazing food. I personally think the Thai Tasty Wing Kickers were really good. I enjoy getting a combination of the kids fried rice with chicken and mixing it with the Pad Kee Mao Drunken Noodles, spicy 2. Gigi and Aaron were my bartenders, highly recommend! read more

Tried Thaicoon in Katy during happy hour and it absolutely delivered. We were seated at a table (bar area looked great too -- sleek and inviting for a future visit). It wasn't overly busy, which made for a relaxed start to the evening. Service was fast from the beginning -- drinks arrived quickly, food followed right on cue. The happy hour menu is where they shine. We ordered the firecracker shrimp, basil calamari, fish delights, and money bags (crab rangoons). Every appetizer came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The firecracker shrimp had just the right kick, and the money bags disappeared faster than I'd like to admit. We paired everything with a couple of Old Fashioneds, which were well-balanced and properly made -- always appreciated. For the entrée, I ordered the shrimp pad c-ew, and it hit the spot. Fresh ingredients, great texture on the noodles, and generous shrimp. And then came dessert -- mango sticky rice. Let me save you time: order it. It's a must-have. I briefly considered getting a second one for the road... maturity prevailed. Barely. Overall: fast service, fresh food, fair prices, and a welcoming vibe. Food My favorite was the pad see ew 8/10. Not too oily, noodles were springy and i tasted the wok and soy flavor. Pad keeo mao (drunken noodles) 7/10. Less noodles and SOO much peppers. Noodle spice was a 3 and you could feel it so if you cannot handle spice i recommend a 1 or 2. Yellow curry 8/10. Very coconutty and savory. Loved the creaminess withthe chicken and vegetables. 1 bowl of rice was provided. Papaya salad 8/10. Loved the texture and flavor!! It wasnt too acidic and complemented the oily fried foods so well! The salad was cut very thin which increased the overall mouth feel with slightly tangy and fish saucy taste. Fish curry 4/10 Fish bits looked like flat chicken nuggets. The sauce was alright but fish quality could be improved. Happy hour chicken bits 2/10. You will need the sauce and make sure it is cooked because it was still frozen in the middle at first. Second try was slightly better but I would pass next time. Service The waitor accommodated our party (5) fine. We were able to split our checks smoothly. Ambiance When you first walk in, it gives an upscale feeling. I saw someone celebrating their birthday there. There is a bar in the center of the restaurant which looked pretty cool. There's a robot that delivers your food! Enough said... While the robot is a highlight, the real highlight is the food. Thaicoon is located in Katy Asiatown surrounded by lots of new restaurants to add to the impressive Houston food scene. The inside is spacious with a mix of booths and tables. There is also a full bar inside. We ordered thai fried rice with chicken, pad thai with chicken, and red curry with chicken. Chicken overload! Thai fried rice was amazing. Bursting with flavor, the dish had moist rice, juicy chicken, onion, carrots, and more. All the flavors came together and had a party. Pad thai was a classic. This dish came with the noodles wrapped in a soft egg blanket rather than having egg cooked directly in with the noodles. This is the second time I have seen this presentation and I like it. Lime, peanuts, and chili sauce come on the aide so you can adjust as you like. The noodles were cooked al dente, delicious. By the time I got to the curry dish, I was almost stuffed. But I still managed a few butes because it was so yummy. The curry was thick and rich and coated every oiece of chicken inside. Ordering medium spicy definitely left a kick in my mouth. Service was fast, friendly. The restaurant was clean and decor was nice. The bar area was nice with lots of variety of wine liquor & alcohol. Lunch was pretty empty for Saturday. We ordered pad Thai (too oddly sweet, none of us could eat it), the steamed fish was good, the curry was good (less sweet , not as coconutty and more savory ), the tom yum I liked.... The pandan unsweet tea barely had pandan flavor but it was still refreshing. The serving size for the curry was big. Overall, I liked my meal minus the pad Thai. read more
We came here during happy hour 3-6p, were seated and greeted. We ordered some bar bites- thai tidal treasures (scollops), Thai tasty wings, crispy salmon skin, pork ear pad thai, and a side of sticky rice. Everything was flavorful and amazing. My favorite were the scallops, the sauce with it was so good. I also liked the salmon skin, but wish it came with rice, bc it was too salty eating by itself. The sticky rice we ordered was the rice they use for mango sticky rice, I wish they just had regular (no coconut) sticky rice to eat with dishes. Place is spacious and clean, I would come back for the thing we ate and maybe try their curry. read more

We finally tried this place on Sunday and we really liked it, we just went in and tried some apps, and we picked a perfect day because happy hour is all day on Sunday. The food and service was great, my husband was already thinking about what he wanted to try next time, the fish and pineapple fried rice. read more
