Menudo 7 days a week! My friends were craving menudo on a Monday morning before we left Vegas and most places only do weekends. I was looking at all the variety of pancakes! I've been here before and have had their wonderfully topped pancakes. This time I got one of their skillets with bacon. Come with like home fries/potato and egg, with toast or pancake. It's such a big portion!! My friends helped me, but I still had a small box to take home. I made one of my friends get a side of beef feet to go with his menudo. It was literally fall off the bone! I love how they had the condiments ( limes, oregano, chili flakes, and onions) all on one plate. I also like the option of you want hominy in your menudo. My friend and I are not huge fans and f hominy. I'm there for the "meats" and soup with slot of onions and limes! Dang, I should have just gotten the menudo too! I saved this place on Instagram years ago and finally got the chance to try it while visiting Vegas. I know Ely's has multiple locations, but this one had the best reviews--so we went for it. I ordered the menudo and my friend got the waffle combo. We got our food to go, and even though the place was busy when we arrived, service was fast, friendly, and on point. Thankfully, there wasn't a line (even though I saw in the comments it can get packed), so we got lucky. Our order was ready in about 10 minutes. The menudo was absolutely worth it--rich flavor, great portion, and exactly what I was hoping for. Coming from Sacramento, this spot definitely lived up to the hype. My friend really liked the waffle combo too; solid all around. Located on Tropicana and Eastern right next to Aladdin supermarket you'll find this amazing little gem. We arrived about 8:05 AM were greeted promptly as a nice hometown ambience field to it. The staff is extremely nice there's so many options so this is a perfect place for family because there's something for everyone here with that being said because there's so many options they're not specialize in anything so their food is just average it's not bad but it's not the best. That is why I'm giving it three stars just because the food is not the best tasting. But the prices are really good considering the portions, I did like their Tamarindo drink and their milkshake however their lemonades are just lemon with syrup and it just takes very artificial. Finally stopped by here for all the Social Media hype I've seen. This is a good place, lots of options on the menu, we'll have to go back to try more of the menu, since there are so many options. We ordered the Ely's Mega Plate, it came with bacon cheese fries, buffalo chicken tenders and a bacon cheeseburger. The fries were really good, the burger was cooked well, the tenders were a little vinegary, but all in all alot of food. The steak chilaquiles were good, but the chile verde sauce was a bit too much regarding the lemon taste and I like lemons, but just too much, the meal was good and again, lots of food, and then we ordered the menudo, the part I really liked was they ask you if you want hominy or not, I'm a hominy person, so we ordered the medium size, wish they had the option of a cup, but the menudo was delicious, definitely I'll order this again. I love Elys. Doesn't matter which location we go to either the one here or the one in Green Valley both phenomenal and both offered the same things. When we came here, we decided to go to the location closer to my dad's so we came to this one. The server was really nice and joked around with us and was really just a good time. Stopped by Ely's for post Saturday night recovery fuel. It was 5 minutes away from our AirBnb. Oscar, our server and the cook, was great. We could tell he was handling things solo for the most part. We weren't in a hurry so the wait, which wasn't super long, didn't bother us. I had the asada chilaquiles bowl with red and green salsa while my friend had the Mexi-burrito with potatoes. After Oscar took our orders, the food arrived pretty quickly. The chilaquiles were sooo good! I was really happy with my choice and felt revitalized after my meal. Oscar was very thoughtful and put the cilantro and onions on the side because he realized I wasn't asked if I wanted cilantro and onions on the chilaquiles. (I did. The thought and care here is what got me. Top notch service. ) My friend said the burrito was very tasty and it was large enough to have leftovers. I tried the breakfast potatoes that came with the burrito and they were cooked perfectly! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. We both agreed Ely's is a solid choice for breakfast. If you're in a hurry, it may be better to call in your order and pick it up. But if you have the time to sit and relax, I highly recommend Ely's. Next time I visit I will try the menudo or pozole. I had the chicken Philly and it was pretty good. A good amount of filling and hoagie was toasted. It came with a side of fries that were hot and crispy. My friend had Ely's Mega plate which came with 3 fingers, a cheeseburger and a side of loaded fries. She enjoyed her food and had to take some to go. My other friend enjoyed her mixed fajitas that came with rice and beans and you can only select either flour or corn and not both w/o an extra charge. Ordered my food today through GrubHub it's a Sunday. I normally love to place orders with Ely's for my steak,eggs and chilaquiles, but today my order was all messed up. It wasn't very good at all. My steak was very rubbery and oily my french fries were hard and oily like they had just been left in the oil, like the french fries were saturated with oil so needless to say my breakfast wasn't as good as I like it to be and I was highly disappointed. Oh boy....So in all honesty, I hadn't looked online prior to going here and actually I didn't even realize that this place had 2 locations. I was only familiar with the one I've seen at the Green Valley location. Passed it many times and thought about going there on numerous occasions. I finally pulled the trigger in going here but maps directed me to their Tropicana location. No biggie. I found out later that the menus are about the same between the two. Anyway, enough rambling. First impression prior to going here is I thought I was going to a diner-esque spot that serve breakfast fare and burgers. Upon being seated and greeted with chips and salsa before ordering, I was completely confused and ended up swaying to order something different than intended as probably 50-60% of their menu was Mexican. So...what the heck, let's order some Mexican then! My wife and I arrived around 1:30pm-ish. The place was pretty much dead except maybe a party of two besides. The server service was great. The server was even nice enough to help take a picture of us sitting at the booth! I ordered the 2 steak taco plate which also comes with beans and rice (at the affordable price of $13.99) and my wife ordered the steak ranchero ($23.99). We did ask for some minor subs to our order. Due to health reasons, I asked for no rice but requested more beans and my wife no beans but more rice. TBH, for me, my food was just....meh. Very lackluster. The tacos were just regular shmegular tacos. I will say the flavor of the steak was good but everything else tanked. The meat and tortillas was dry. The meat also had quite a bit of gristle which I found disappointing. The extra portion of beans I requested in place of the rice wasn't given either. Luckily, I had enough beans to put in my tacos to allow the slide of ease of the dry tortilla and meat. For the price point, I found this to be rather unfortunate, really, since it is NOT worth basically $7 a taco. On the flip side, my wife did really enjoy her food. Her only complaint was the steak was a bit small.....and it was a bit thin, in my opinion. I didn't try it. Overall, the service is good. The place is clean. The ambiance is fine. I think the menu is too vast and confusing being that it seems the majority is Mexican fare than what the name and title implies of the restaurant. Breakfast and burgers is the "selling point". It could be a one off on the tacos yesterday but if their tacos are at this quality consistently, it makes me nervous to venture to anything else on their menu.....especially at that price point. We paid almost $60 (with 2 sodas and tip) and still felt a little under nourished after we left. May come back but definitely not for tacos! read more
