On our way to Branson, we stopped for lunch. Immediately, we were greeted warmly by Lauren-big, friendly smile making us feel right at home. What a great first impression! She gave us suggestions on what to order and checked on us several times during our meal. Declan was working the floor area-cleaning tables & windows, delivering food, refilling drinks, & asking if patrons needed anything. His willingness to help in many ways was evident. Great job, Declan! We had fried shrimp, fish, & chicken tenders. All were delish!! The cole slaw was fantastic-finely chopped, but not soupy. Hush puppies were crispy outside & soft inside. The bbq beans & fried okra were fine, but not the stars of the meal. Don't go there unless you're planning to save room for fried pies! A "Poboy" in Name Only - A Disappointing Experience at Eat My Catfish While the ambiance at Eat My Catfish gives the impression of a hard-working staff and a bustling kitchen, any praise for this establishment, unfortunately, ends there. My recent experience was so thoroughly disappointing that it has resulted in the loss of my patronage moving forward. Let me set the stage: I arrived promptly at opening time--11:00 a.m.--and was the only customer in the parking lot. Despite this, it took 35 minutes for my food to be served. I wish I could say the wait was justified, but I had placed a modest order: a shrimp poboy, fries, hush puppies, and a side of rice. What I eventually received was disheartening. The fries were few, the hush puppies miniature and underwhelming in number, and although the dirty rice was quite tasty, it was the only redeeming item on the tray. The meal also came with three tiny slaw containers, each no more than a couple ounces. But the true tragedy was the so-called "Shrimp Poboy." A quick online search will tell you what a poboy sandwich traditionally includes: French bread piled high with fried shrimp (or another protein), dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and generously slathered with mayonnaise or remoulade. It's supposed to be indulgent, satisfying, and flavorful--a hallmark of Southern cuisine. What I received, however, was almost criminal in comparison. The sandwich consisted of two stiff, stale pieces of bread--resembling a hot dog bun more than a proper loaf--and a few fried shrimp. No lettuce. No tomato. No pickles. No sauce of any kind. Just bread and shrimp. That's it. I brought this to the attention of the manager, assuming it was a simple oversight. To my dismay, I was told this was their version of a shrimp poboy--that they serve it "bread and meat," with slaw on the side. As if this explanation somehow justified the barebones offering. With all due respect, this sandwich is so far removed from what a poboy is meant to be that it should not bear the name at all. Calling it such is misleading at best, and at worst, a disservice to the culinary traditions it attempts to emulate. I'm not one to write reviews lightly, but when a restaurant serves something this misrepresented--paired with a wait time that defies logic and a manager who stands by the decision--I feel compelled to speak up. There are too many incredible food options available to accept this kind of substandard meal. Eat My Catfish may pride itself on Southern hospitality, but this experience was anything but hospitable. If you'd like a true Cajun experience try R and M Southern Eatery. They have amazing cuisine! read more

I was really disappointed. I went in the one in Conway, Ar. It was 30 min. to closing and no one was there but me. The place was nice and clean. The waiter was nice and friendly, but not very informative. For example: I told him I wanted tarter sauce and he said okay. I went to go get my drink and they were right there. Why he didn't say that was beyond me. I got a 4 piece fish dinner with coleslaw and dirty rice. The rice was just terrible. It had no flavor and the texture felt as though it had been sitting out for a while. The coleslaw was pretty good though but the cup was so so small. The fish flavor of the fish was really good but those 4 little pieces weren't even the size of 1 fillet. They were so small you could put them all in between two pieces of bread to make a sandwich. It wasn't close to being worth paying 20+ for. It came out in this small basket and I was expecting a plate full for the 20 dollars I spent. I won't be going back. If it were a hamburger comparison, it would be like the size of a sausage. Too much for too little. And the food all together was average. Nothing great here. read more

Solid choice for catfish, shrimp, chicken, and crab - seved basket style with sides which may include fries and baked beans. Beer, but no hard liquor - or soft drinks. The Sweet Tea is great! Order at the counter, fix your drink, and wait for them to bring your food to the table. On a busy Friday night, it may take about 15-20 minutes to get foid - but when you see the lines (drive-thru AND dine-in) - it is understandable. We'e been wanting to try these for years, and I'm sure glad we ate there last night! Good food, and pkenty of it. Tge 'Try Everything' basket has chicken, fish, shrimp, and 2 sides. Wow! Let me start with the wonderful greeting we received as we entered. Tabby greeted us with a warm smile and hospitality, which is so appreciated. We ordered the catfish shrimp combo with fried okra and coleslaw as our sides. Great filets, fried just right and not greasy. Shrimp were plump, just the right amount of batter and fried perfectly! The coleslaw was on point and had really good flavor and tasted fresh. The okra tasted fresh as well, not frozen, with a light crispy coating. I'm not usually a fan of hush puppies, I know I know, but I really enjoyed the flavor of these. There tartar sauce is a secret sauce and was so yummy!! Be sure to try the Cajun dust as well! All in all this was a great meal and I will def be back. Service was 10/10 as Tabby checked in on us through out our meal to make sure we didn't need anything. read more

Had my craving for crawfish met! I was hankering for some mudbugs during vacation, and my sister recommended this place. Conway is lucky to have such a great seafood place! It was a little busy for a weekday night, which would explain the mixups with our orders. The unique and awesome tartar sauce made up for it, though. It tastes as though it is regular tartar sauce with crab boil seasoning(?). Wish I would have thought of that! The hand washing station is a nice touch. You're going to get your hands dirty eating seafood, so why not be up front about it! I only sampled the catfish, so that will be on my mind next time! When you approach and enter the building they've got bragging rights posted of "Best in the state" this, and "Winner of" that, so with this, my antennas were totally tuned in to see what all the fuss was about! Well, the hubs and I visited for lunch today and... I've gotta' give it to them, they're definitely WINNERS! How do you deep-fat-fry catfish and it not feel or taste the slightest bit greasy??? Its always with caution that I order fried catfish outside of Jackson, AL. Back in 1987 on my first trip to Tulsa Workshop my ol friend Geo and I ate fried catfish on the way in Fort Smith. Hence for the memories I stepped outside my comfort zone! The fried okra, cole slaw, and french fries were excellent. FFs reminence of Checkers. Also, fried apple pie for dessert reminded of the days of eating my grannys. Very good. Many tables were indulging in boiled crawfish. The aroma was great and they looked great. Being from the south, I was not expecting to find good seafood in Conway at Eat my Catfish. I was totally wrong. The batter and seasoning on the seafood was good. The portions and price were great. I had the boiled shrimp and garlic fries. The shrimp were a little hard to peel but had a great taste. The garlic fries come with minced garlic and seasoning on top. We went with a large group and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Majority ordered catfish and shrimp. My children loved the catfish. read more

I understand there is a staff shortage at the moment but there are still some things that are inexcusable. My wife and I came here for dinner last night. We had a great experience last time, which was our first time. My wife got the fish & shrimp and I got the chicken & shrimp. The hush puppies were cooked to death, it was like bitting into a giant crouton. The baked beans smelled and tasted like an ash tray (not even joking). I took 1 small bite and spit it back out. I was absolutely disgusted. People will understand longer waits, but when quality takes a back seat, your customers will notice. I have absolutely 0 intentions on going back to this place. Food was great, and staff were helpful when we brought our disabled friend in. However, we were all horrified by the condition of the tables, floors and entry door.The tables/chairs do not accommodate a customer using a walker. Booths are not ideal, even impossible, for such people. The only tables were ones with tall stools that she couldn't manage and two long ones for 10 people. There were only three of us. The two long tables were sticky to the touch. The hostess wiped one down but didn't dry it. After we dried it with napkins, it was still sticky. What kind of cleaner do y'all use? The floor is horrendous--chipped with hunks of missing floor surface (also difficult to manage with a walker). The floor looked like asphalt with potholes all over it. Finally, the sill on the entry door was loose--not attached to the floor or door frame at all! A trip hazard for anyone but positively dangerous for someone with a walker. Do better EMC! I called and talked to Matt for a take out order. I even spell name of order. My husband gets there, they can't find my order, Matt says I'd probably called the restaurant in Little Rock. I know I check to make sure the address matches what is on their website. He don't remember talking to me or recalling my order. We had to wait 51 mins, due to some screw up on Matt's part, he wrote my order and lost it with no name, so it was not even prepare until we got there. 51 mins is way too long especially when I called in advance. read more

We usually really like the catfish dinners. However tonight I decided to get shrimp. I'm the past, the mild boiled shrimp had too much Cajun spices for me so I tried the fried shrimp. This is my brother-in-laws favorite catfish restaurant. The portions are very nice. Just like so many restaurants the prices are on the rise. The cost for the same meal that we get has gone up almost 60% in the last 8 years. That is more than double what my social security has gone up in the 14 years that I have been getting it.
