I love seeing new businesses open in Downtown Conway.( I also own business in downtown Conway. ) The reality is this restaurant is scaring away customers with such strong talk of dress code and turning people away by appearance I understand what they're trying to do, but maybe the approach is a little too rigid w/o much explanation to the general public. The food is impeccable. Everything I've put in my mouth from every visit is amazing. They are also supporting other local food vendors that have businesses downtown, which I super appreciate!! We have had the same server Kadevin on both our visits and he is wonderful very attentive very personable. Knows the menu, shows interest, but gives you the space & he is top-notch. The bar has made a specialty sangria drink for me that's not even on the menu, they did it perfectly! I feel like there should be some kind of special for lunch and dinner each day because the menu is small and stagnant after you go a few times. Needs a little bit more uniqueness on the menu -like a hook item that you crave and go back for. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant. I love the environment. I love the food. I love the people working. They have some kinks to work out, but I feel certain they will do that! Give them a shot.

I haven't been because I'm afraid I wouldn't be dressed right. I probably eat at Mikes once a week and never feel unwelcome.

We kept it in our sites as we descended, and found it to be on the 6th floor of the Avenue Hotel. Its outdoor seating area was lovely. On one side you're just in the tree tops. The other side looks over an underwhelming cityscape, but that's not Rooftop's fault. It's still just nice to be on a rooftop! It started to rain not long after we arrived. We moved under the patio cover, and that was a lovely way to watch and hear the rain until the wind really picked up and we moved inside. It was only around 4pm so we both ordered the mocktail on the menu. It's the only one and pretty simple, but it was quite delicious -- muddled strawberry and 7up. I bet it would be even better with Ginger Beer! Maybe a little high in price for the small size and no booze, but oh well. As the rain continued, we decided to share an appetizer to wait it out. We ordered an olive hummus which was surprisingly decent (I'm not an olive fan normally) with pita chips. I wasn't a huge fan of the pita chips, but they served as a perfectly fine delivery mechanism for said hummus. The staff there was really nice and seemed to get along and share duties well -- in a small place you notice things like that and it made an impression.

I came in and asked for a booth for myself and the host informed me the bar was open seating. I walked to the first booth and seen white crumbs on the seat so I walked to the next one, that also had white crumbs over it. At this point I decided to take a few napkins from the bar to clean the seat myself. The server comes and I ask if they still had the lunch special and before I could ask for the burger I was cut off and told they don't have a lunch menu. I was confused as to why she cut me off so quickly as if Chili's never had a lunch menu and I informed her I thought it was rude. I ordered my meal and asked for no tomatoes. I go to the restroom and every worker is looking at me, I can already tell she has went and complained on me. I come back to my seat and see a salad of course with tomatoes. I tried to pick them off but I seen my server and told her instead. My new salad comes and I proceed to grab salt and pepper and notice none on the table. I again get my severs attention and ask for the condiments and she lets me know she will tell my sever of my needs. In other words letting me know she is no longer my sever and don't ask her again for anything else, which is how I the costumer took it. I doubt this establishment nor the staff cares how I feel since I am a black female here in the south I see and feel this often. My new server then comes by and says she will be with me shortly and I ask for the salt and pepper. She comes back still with no condiments asking me what I need, and instead of asking for my needs a third time I request the manager. The manager comes and seems to want to listen, she even sits down, but at this point the more I thought about my experience I no longer wanted to stay. I see the BOH manager standing looking from afar as if I'm such a huge threat, other white staff members peeking and observing but where was all this staff when I asked for salt and peeper? Why did I not get informed of the server change and the reason? I get up and walk towards the door and decide to snap a few pics of the staff to include in my review and then several staff members start walking towards me which upset me more, because again where was all this staff when I needed salt and pepper? And why are they confronting me as I'm leaving? Another server starts to walk up to me and opens her mouth and I quickly let her know don't say shit to me. I will never return. The staff is rude and unprofessional.

Well, I am happy to report that it IS true, that Petit & Keet is an outstanding restaurant. We made it in, in time for their terrific happy hour at the bar. Packed at 5:00 PM on a Tuesday (who woulda thunk that?) we were able to squeeze in and jump in on their goodies. The HH Menu was so appealing we would up just tasting several things; for starters, their signature frozen drink, the Peechy Keet, was absolutely phenomenal (it might also be because it was over 100 degrees outside). Not too sweet, nicely fruity and packing a punch. The Crudites was atypical with a larger assortment of veggies (including some tasty Sheshido peppers) and a really, unique and delish hummus. Next up; the Tuna Tostada. This could actually be my favorite item on the menu; sashimi grade tuna on a larger Tostada, perfectly marinated. Yummy. We topped things off with the Empanadas' that were also delectable; plenty of filling, not overly fried so as to be firm but chewable. I can't believe we wound up being stuffed, and sadly, it prevented us from diving into what looked like some wonderful entrees. Next time! A special note to the management; your bartender (sorry, her name escapes me, but she's in the pic with my wife and me) was as phenomenal as the food & drink (and the decor; sorry I hadn't mentioned that before, but it is a lovely space). She was everything (and more) for what someone behind the bar should be, an expert concotionist, professional, fun (and funny) and on top of everything at a packed bar/restaurant. Can you say "deserves a raise" with me? Also, loved the story of the place on the menu. It feels great to see a local place like Petit and Keet deliver top notch food, service and environment.
