Terrible ...... Tasteless..... I cannot Express how dissatisfied I am. I am a Jamaican food enthusiast and this was by far the worst ever. I ordered two lunch specials to try both just in case one wasn't so good and it turns out that both were horrible. The rice and peas on each dish had a total of four peas and one side and three peas in the other side dish. The plant's hands were so mushy that I felt like it was hospital food for someone who did not have any teeth in their mouth. The cabbage consistency was perfect however it was tasteless. The curry chicken and the stewed chicken both had very thin gravy that tasted as if the thickener was used with water and very slight chicken flavoring. Overall the whole dish just seemed to be very slimy I'm not sure what they're using but it is not a vibe. The overall customer service was good and they were very friendly however they just can't cook. I'm not sure what area in Jamaica they're from but this definitely wants again is not a vibe. I read some Google reviews that stated that celebrities Jamaican celebrities would come in to town for events and come to this restaurant. I don't care who they are if they come to this restaurant and say that they had an excellent experience with the food then they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Very Disappointed! I only gave it 1 star because it was required to leave this review. I have eaten here before and I have met the owner but I am not sure if she still owns the place. I went here today 4-17-2024 after work around 630pm. Two women were cleaning up the place. Of course, they were out of the soup I wanted so I just ordered a Large Stew Chicken which cost me $15.12. 1st: The customer service sucks BIG TIME!!! - They don't even say Thank You and take your money. The ladies are rude and act like you are bothering them when you order and pay for your food. 2nd: The food I ordered was terrible like they had scrapped the bottom of the pot. The rice was hard/soft and soggy from an extended amount of sauce I guess to give flavor, there was a lot of black piece in the dish like they had scrapped the pot and some of the rice tastes burnt; some pieces of the chicken was chewy like it was a day old and was rewarmed and reserved, so I spit it out and then when I noticed the chicken was not properly cleaned ~ meaning it looks like they did not properly clean it before cooking because the guts part came out of the back of a piece of the chicken and at that point I just threw it away. The only thing that was descent in the dish was the cabbage and some of it was over cook and the plate was not hot. For them to raise their prices up due to the changes in the world you would think they would hire better help and make better dishes. But this is not the case. I am VERY disappointed and at this point I will cease going to this establishment to waste my money on bad customer service and bad food. I really would really recommend that a Health Food Inspector drop by for a surprise visit. When I got home and looked at my order it was uncooked tilapia not salmon. The macaroni & cheese was cooked elbow macaroni with a little bit of cheese on it. I have had a lot of ox tail in many cities and this tail needs some help. The tail was not that tender and the cinnamon was a bit strong. The rice and beans had zero flavor, even with the ox tail gravy it was lacking flavor. Cabbage was cooked well, however it could have used some salt and pepper. Plantains were fair at best, didn't have that caramelization that I have had at other locations. The mac & cheese was dry and very little cheese flavor. Service was great at the counter but when I went to pay I was not asked if I wanted anything else, not even a drink. I would not return for this meal again.
