We took a chance on this place since it's close to us--we pass by it all the time and figured we'd finally try it. For $70, we definitely expected more than what we got. The food was edible, but not nearly as enjoyable as we'd hoped. First off... naming a dessert "Big Dig Chocolate Cake" and then giving such a small slice is honestly ironic. Since we ordered takeout, my husband and I planned to share it, trusting the name--but it didn't live up to that at all. Update: just tasted it and it is not good at all. I ordered the Nonna's lasagna, which was a good portion size, but it was overly salty and lacked that classic Italian seasoning flavor you'd expect. My husband got the chicken parmesan and was pretty disappointed--the sauce tasted like it came straight from a can rather than being homemade. The owner 's father introduced himself, and he was very helpful with information he had in common with one of our guests. First time here! The food was delicious but the service was lacking a bit in the drink department. Our waitress was very sweet and smiley. However, We had to order a water twice and a beer twice before they got to our table, assuming they forgot to bring them. We came at a time it wasn't that busy at first so we thought turnaround time to get drinks and dinner would be quicker as well however, it was tasty! Chicken piccata was creamy and lemony jsut as it should be. Kids pizza was perfect for my daughter. Husband loved his veal parm and my friends enjoyed their meals as well (pictured). Went for lunch around 130pm and ordered the Steak tip lunch plate after reading reviews on Yelp.. I was not disappointed the Steak tips were delicious , great flavor, seared/grilled to perfection. I got pasta as my side dish and the pasta itself was cooked al' dente though the sauce was a little watery (probably from not draining the pasta enough after cooking ) but still had a good flavor. We stopped by after catching an early Tuesday afternoon screening of Sonic 3 (on Christmas Eve). We'd been wanting to try the pizza here for a while, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When we walked in, the place was mostly empty, with only three other tables occupied. A sign near the entrance instructed us to "wait to be seated," so we did--awkwardly, for quite a while. Another customer arrived not long after us, and we all just stood there, waiting. The kitchen is visible from the front door, so staff could clearly see us, yet no one came over to greet us or even acknowledge our presence. Even on a busy day, you'd expect at least a quick word or gesture, but there was nothing. Eventually, a young woman appeared with a bright smile and told us to sit wherever we liked--making the "wait to be seated" sign feel unnecessary. I wanted to take advantage of the happy hour specials ($5 Tito's and well cocktails) and tried to order a margarita with well tequila. Oddly, the waitress told me this wasn't allowed--something I've never encountered before. She seemed confused, so I settled for a tequila and pineapple juice instead. It tasted fine, but nothing special. My son ordered an apple juice from the kids' menu. For our meal, we decided to share a medium pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni. Wait time for a standard pie was as expected. The pizza arrived hot and fresh. At first glance, it was extremely greasy, but the taste was solid. The crust was thin and slightly charred, just the way I like it, with a flavorful red sauce that complemented the toppings well. When I finished eating, I asked for a box. The waitress nodded to acknowledge my request but then got distracted cleaning tables, rearranging furniture, and assisting another table before finally bringing the box over. It felt like an unnecessary wait. One highlight is that this restaurant offers a discount for paying in cash, which I appreciated and took advantage of. I've already left a review about their steak tips before, but they deserve another mention--they're the closest I've found in Florida to the classic steak tips from Newbridge Café outside Boston in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and they are absolutely fantastic. This time I had the steak tips over the Greek salad, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the chicken Alfredo and really enjoyed it as well--very flavorful and satisfying. The kids' meal was generous, with delicious fries and steak tips that my child loved. Our server, Camelia, was efficient, pleasant, and incredibly sweet. The service made the experience even better. The server was friendly. When she brought the check I was charged for another wine and when I mentioned it she said it's more than likely the same price. I had to tell her it was not. Super impressed by this unassuming place. Service was fantastic and friendly. The environment was casual and appropriate. The food was way more than I imagined. The eggplant stack was the perfect combination of flavors and absolutely delicious. It came out room temp, which may be the way it's supposed to given the amount of greens, but even if it wasn't, didn't bother me a bit. It was so good! The garlic twists are a bit pricey for the amount you get, but so amazing, you just can't skip them! The pizza was truly notable. The whole package was phenomenal, but the crust tipped the scale. I kept eating thinking this is SUCH great pizza. And warmed up the next day in the oven was almost as good! The large was huge and very reasonably priced. The hand tossed 18" Neapolitan pepperoni pizza was huge and delightfully delicious with Italian flavor in every bite as it looks like oregano is already sprinkled on. Crust was thin and a bit charred. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was crunchy and fresh. The food in the service are excellent here and the prices are reasonable, really reasonable. The place is nicely decorated, and there seems to be a lot of seniors dining here, which tells me that the food is pretty good. In my 8 years of yelping, seniors, frequenting a venue, spell good dining cuz they're a particular sort. The pizza lured us in. Wow, delightful. Check out the menu.
